The BIG Miracles for Some Little Souls
Posted: March 24, 2011

We just received a wonderful message from our friends and partners, Manny and SherryAsprec. They operate Destiny’s Promise Orphanage in the Philippines. Until recently, they had been caring for six children in their home, along with their own three girls. With the growing need to accept more children they knew they had to build a proper facility to care for more kids. Just imagine, there are currently two million children living on the streets in the Philippines.

Recently they took in three desperately needy children, one especially brought tears to my eyes. A four-year-old girl weighing just 16 pounds! She was at death’s door, but with loving care, treatment and food, she is doing much better! They also rescued a newborn baby that a midwife was going to sell. They’re also caring for a precious, little, three-year-old boy whose body was covered in cigarette burn scars inflicted by his parents! Thank God for Destiny’s Promise.

One of our goals during our recent trip to the Philippines was to visit Destiny’s Promise to meet Manny and Sherry. These wonderful Christian people have opened the doors of their own home to orphans, providing for them out of their own pockets. Their compound is an amazing facility. They’re growing organic vegetables, and fruit trees, as well as raising cattle and fish. Their goal is to provide their own needs and to sell the extra in order to make Destiny’s Promise self-sufficient. They’re doing a wonderful job of making the most of what they have.

Recently, another organization has committed to purchasing their next crop, and wants them to distribute it to orphanages and other organizations serving the children and the poor in the area. Here’s another example of the ripple effect of good works; God can take a little and make it big!

Because of the great work Manny and Sherry are doing, we knew we wanted to help them accomplish their goal of providing a home and help for these children and others that we’re sure will come.

Here is a recent email we received from Sherry: "We had just spoken to our builder to find out when our next payment on the building construction would be due. He said he had to have the money within a week, it was in the contract. We were broke. There was no money to give him and nothing on the horizon. We decided that we needed to pray and ask God for a miracle. We cried out to God and told Him we knew He would provide, but we also asked Him to act quickly. Within an hour of that prayer, we received an email from you at Orphan's Promise telling us you would provide the money needed, and also the money for furniture as well! God is so awesome!"

Our God is so awesome, He takes care of our needs and He knows what we need before we ask. Please keep Destiny’s Promise and Orphan’s Promise in your prayers.
