Terry Meeuwsen
Director of Orphan's Promise
The Queen of Kingston
Posted: April 12, 2011

Since 2008, we have partnered with a woman who has dedicated her life to the poor and needy children of Kingston, Jamaica. Her name is Jody and she works with five ministries in the Kingston area. Their mission is dedicated to the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, educational, financial needs of children living in various children’s homes as well as homeless children, and those living in life-threatening conditions.

Since she works and lives in Kingston, we call her the Queen of Kingston.

We’re currently working with:

  • The Glenhope Nursery, newborns - 8 years
  • The Glenope Girls’ Home, which is for girls 12 - 18 years
  • The Jamaica Christian Boy’s Home which helps boys, 3 - 18 years
  • The Best Care Lodge – newborns to adults - for Special Needs Children

Jody’s dedication to helping the poor of Kingston is really special – she loves these kids so much. It’s partnerships like this that make Orphan’s Promise dollars stretch to accomplish so much. Thanks to Miss Jody and all the workers who toil in the field to help the poor and needy of this world.
