Orphan’s Promise is partnering with a wonderful ministry called, Faith Comes By Hearing. They provide small transistor radio-type machines to help missionaries in the field who are trying to reach remote people who don’t have Bibles available to them. Indeed, some are very remote and may not have a written language! There are still many cultures that are “story teller” types of cultures. They pass on their wisdom and their history via story telling.
Faith Comes By Hearing uses people of these cultures speaking in their own languages to speak the word of God into an audio format that is then put onto their “proclaimers” (machines) that are then carried into the remotest parts of the world and the people can hear the Word of God in their own language. The machines work either by hand crank, or by solar power because, of course, electricity is non-existent there.

How awesome is this?? Our Bloke in the Field, Tim Daniell, writes:
Some really good news. I have arranged for a group called Faith Comes by Hearing to donate 20 Proclaimers to Orphan’s Promise for us to distribute on this GLC trip as well. These are radio-like devices that have the New Testament on them in the native language, and are powered by solar panels or a crank handle that generates electricity. The speaker is powerful enough for a village of 300 people to sit and listen to the Word together. I just received them today. We will distribute them as part of our program in each village that we go to and teach them how to use them. These are perfect for villages like this where the people are illiterate and where there is no access to electricity.

Isn’t it amazing how the Body of Christ works together to reach out to people and let them know about the undying, unchanging, everlasting love of God?
