A new home and new family.

We recently received this report from an orphanage we are supporting in Sierra Leone. Thanks to you and all of our faithful supporters, stories like Haja's are crossing our desks. God bless you all.

Amazing things have been happening in Lungi, Sierra Leone and Orphan's Promise has been on the front line battling for miraculous transitions in the lives of many children. After a recent trip to an orphanage that Orphan's Promise funds, the work is proving fruitful, indeed. Pastor Jacob Gbateh is so thrilled and thankful to have the building and space to provide care for orphans and that's exactly what he has done for Haja Kamara.

While on a walk through the village, Pastor Jacob ran into a group of people gathered around a young girl crying over the lifeless body of her mother. The woman had died earlier that day, and as Jacob looked down at the child, she cried, "What am I going to do? This was my only mother and the one who took care of me and helped me go to school!"

Pastor Jacob, moved with compassion, took her under his wing and told her he wanted to help. Her name is Haja Kamara, and she is just eleven years old! Since she came to the orphanage, she has been excelling in school, and thriving in her new home.

Haja comes from a Muslim background, but since coming to the orphanage and learning about Jesus and His love, she has accepted Christ as her Savior and is part of the children's ministry, where she also sings in the children's choir.

Stories like Haja Kamara's occur every day in Third World countries, and when God provides a door of opportunity, and someone feels led to help make this possible, it's a beautiful thing. And there is no doubt that your contributions to Orphan's Promise are making enormous differences in the lives of so many children on a daily basis. Every person counts, and souls are being won to the Kingdom, one simple contribution and step of faith at a time.
