Nepal

Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. Almost one third of the population of Nepal lives below the poverty level. Agriculture is the mainstay of this poor economy providing a meager living for three fourths of the population.

Over 50% of the population of Nepal is illiterate, and with a population growth outdistancing economic growth, the future does not look good.

Major problems faced by the general population are orphans, extreme poverty, a country prone to natural disasters and disease.

Orphan’s Promise is currently supporting a home for abandoned children, and operates an outreach to at-risk teens. Needs here are tremendous and we will continue to look toward partnering with others established in-country missions, churches and groups to assist in helping these extremely vulnerable children.
