Guddi is the backbone of her family. She works alongside her husband. Her income is essential because her husband's wages vary from day to day. He is a general labourer and is paid on a daily basis. Together, they are able to support their family. They have a daughter who still lives at home.
The past year has been especially difficult for Guddi. She began to notice her vision rapidly fading in her right eye. She was unable to see properly, which made it difficult to keep up with her daily routine. As her eyesight deteriorated, she could not continue to go to work, which resulted in less income for her family. It was getting difficult to provide food and other basic necessities with her husband's income alone. As each day dawned, Guddi accepted that her life was getting darker and darker.
As she and her husband contemplated their situation, they knew that surgery was an option. However, they could not afford a medical procedure. They also wondered how they were going to finance even a modest wedding for their daughter. They felt overwhelmed with the burden of not being able to provide for their family's needs.
While on the job, Guddi's husband heard about CBN's surgery campaign taking place in Barabanki. This news of our surgical outreach brought hope! This could be the answer his wife needed. He told her about the opportunity, and without delay Guddi went to the medical camp for an examination. She was immediately scheduled for cataract surgery. Once the cataract was removed, Guddi recovered quickly. Her vision improved and soon she was able to return to work.
Guddi gratefully exclaimed, "I am very thankful to CBN for providing this eye surgery. I am overjoyed! I can see properly and go to work again to help my husband and family."
