CBN.com —Icang is a grandfather who uses traditional Golek puppets to teach his grandchildren. For years, he worked as a professional storyteller. Now that he’s retired, he says he has plenty of time to think about the future. “Now that I am older, I often think about where I will go after I die.”
Icang was a Muslim all of his life, but one day he saw a Christian television program. It was CBN Indonesia’s version of The 700 Club.
“I felt like I needed to send a text message to CBN. I thought that if I did, I might be able to know God,” Icang told CBN.
We exchanged texts with Icang and answered his questions. “At that time, my life was full of challenges. I wanted to believe in Jesus because I wanted to have peace and happiness.”
When a CBN team went to his home, he and his family prayed and gave their lives to Christ.
A few weeks later, Icang had a vivid dream about Jesus.
“He was dressed all in white and he said, ‘Icang, I want to show you something.’ He showed me two groups of people. All the people in one group were crying out for help.
They were very afraid. The other group was very happy. They were singing and laughing, and they were not afraid.”
Then Jesus gave Icang some instructions.
“He said, ‘Icang, look around you. Tell people what you have seen, so they too can receive salvation.’”
Icang and wife started attending a Bible class and going to prayer meetings to grow in their new faith.
“If I had not watched the CBN program, I would not know Jesus and I would not have peace!” said Icang. “Please, you must keep airing these programs in my language so others can know Jesus like I do!”
