CBN.com —Dariel’s heart aches for her 3-year-old son, Arvy. Her little boy has been covered in painful, itchy sores for more than 2 years .
“At first, I thought the small welts on his face were just mosquito bites,” Dariel told us from her home in the Philippines. “But they began to spread from his head to his feet. I can’t sleep at night because I’m so worried about him.”
Dariel’s husband is in prison, so she is raising her 4 children alone. She sews day and night, trying to save a little extra money to take Arvy to a doctor.
“I’ve been taking him to our village folk healer,” said Dariel. “He puts a paste on my son’s wounds, but they don’t heal. I wish I could take Arvy to a real doctor and get him some medicine.
Then CBN held a free medical clinic on Dariel’s remote island village in the Philippines. We gave the little boy a thorough check-up, treated his sores, and gave him antibiotics to heal his skin infection. We also had a chance to talk to Dariel about Jesus.
“I am happy that I prayed with the CBN prayer counselor to receive Jesus as my Savior. I am learning that nothing is impossible with Him. The counselor gave me a Bible and prayed with me that my son would get better,” reported Dariel with a big smile.
As for Arvy, the painful sores, that covered him for 2 years, are almost completely gone.
Meanwhile, to help the family bring in a little extra money to boost their income, CBN gave them some goats, which provide milk to drink and sell.
“I am so excited that my son is well, and we will have more goats to sell in the future,” said Dariel. “I believe God sent CBN to our family. Thank you for all your help!
