CBN.com —Ying and Yu always dreaded their walk-home from school with their friends. They didn’t want their classmates to see where they lived- in an old, run-down shack!

The Taos had a bigger home at one point, but it was destroyed by a heavy rainstorm. Mr. and Mrs. Tao worked very hard to earn money to build a new home. But when Mr. Tao died, everything changed.

Mrs. Tao remarks, “I plant corn and only make 150 dollars a year.”

Mrs. Tao’s son Yu adds, “It was awful--- My mom worked so hard that her hair turned gray. So even though we’re small, my sister and I pitched it to help.”

The problems escalated with the weather. “In the summer, our roof leaked badly So our sheets and pajamas were always wet. And in the winter, our room froze inside,” Mrs. Tao remembers.

“It was so cold that we got frostbite on our hands and feet,” Mrs. Tao’s daughter Ying adds.

Living space was a big challenge, too. “There isn’t even room to cook,” Mrs. Tao reports. “I have to prepare meals outside, and we don’t have power. The children have to do their homework by candlelight.”

After three years of this, the family still only had one third of what they needed to build a new home. So Mrs. Tao turned to God. “I said, ‘Lord I believe in you -- that you can make a way for me. ‘”

Shortly after Mrs. Tao prayed, CBN came to their village and helped build the Taos a new home— which was much larger than their old one.

Yu exclaims with joy, “I can’t wait to have my classmates over. “

There are no leaks in their roof! And this winter, they won’t have to worry about frostbite because CBN gave the Taos a brand new heater!

“I thank the Lord for He has shown His grace to me. It makes me want to serve him with my whole heart,” smiles Mrs. Tao. She concludes, “And I thank CBN, for you have given me and my children a real home. You are angels sent from God.”
