CBN.com —Michael’s parents aren’t sure how their son contracted tuberculosis. But instead of it attacking his lungs, it settled in his left femur or thigh bone. Michael’s parents worried when his leg didn’t get any better.”
“The swelling got even bigger. Even it affected the way he walked,” said Purnama, Michael’s mother.
Eventually the leg became so painful that Michael refused to walk on it. Since Michael’s father, Yoel makes only $120 a month as a security guard; the couple had to borrow money to take their son to the hospital.
Once there, the doctor said Michael needed surgery to remove the infection and follow-up medicines to treat the TB.
“My first thought was ‘how can we afford this?” said Yoel.
“My heart broke when the doctor told me he had TB in his leg bone,” added Purnama. “I said, ‘Lord, bring healing to our son.’”
When CBN found out about Michael we set up the free surgery to remove the abscess from his thigh. Then we provided the family with six months of powerful antibiotics to kill the TB bacteria.
When we went back to visit Michael, we learned that the doctor had given him a clean bill of health. The youngster is now enrolled in kindergarten.
To celebrate the good news, we gave Michael one other small gift: his own soccer ball.
“Michael used to limp whenever he walked, and now he can walk perfectly,” said Purnama.
“Our prayers are answered and my son is healed thanks to you!” said Yoel.
“I’m happy to get the ball, now I can play with my friends. Thank you CBN!” said Michael.
