CBN.com —After her husband died of cancer, Mrs. An was left to raise her son Yong all alone. She just wanted him to be healthy and live in a decent home. But all they had was a very old house, and Yong was always sick.
Yong remembers well, “Our house was dark and cold. In the winter, the rain leaked in through the roof, and our blankets and pajamas always got wet. My hands and feet froze and turned purple.”
It made it hard for Yong to sleep. “Yong woke up shaking several times a night,” says Mrs. An. “And he had fevers a lot. I was very worried because he was so thin. He needed rest so he could grow. I just held him and tried to comfort him.”
Yong’s parents had talked about building a new home before Mr. An died. But now on one income, Mrs. An could barely afford minor repairs. Mrs. An explains, “I am illiterate, so finding work is hard. I was living on $31 a year from our corn harvest.”
Yong adds, “I did not want my mom to cry and have to work so hard anymore. I wanted the leaking and the cold to just STOP!”
Mrs. An is a Christian, so she prayed to God for help. Then CBN showed up. She recalls,
“Someone from CBN came to our village and promised to build a new house for my son and me.”
Yong declares, “I jumped as high as I could and shouted for joy!”
Soon, the An’s new two story home was ready for them to move in—fully equipped with a heater. Yong shares, “Now I can sleep through the night, and I dream of running in the sun and laughing!”
Mrs. An concludes, “Now that Yong can sleep, he has energy during the day and is growing strong! Thank you CBN for helping us when we lost everything. Thank you for listening to the Lord and being His hands and feet.”
