CBN.com —In the Pulpura village of western India, every drop of water is precious.  Ramili and her family made sure they didn’t waste any of it.

“It took a lot of time for us to scoop the water out of the ground, so we recycled it whenever possible,” Ramili explained.  “we took baths on a wire cot, and collected the water underneath it. Then we used that water to wash our utensils, clothes, and cattle.”

The nearest water source was 2 miles away, so they came up with a way to transport large amounts of water.

“My children used a homemade wagon to pull our big water container,” Ramili said.  “But it was very difficult to do every day, especially since half the way is on dirt roads.”

But they faced an even bigger problem.  The water wasn’t clean.

“The water source is right next to a cesspool.  Our children often got sick, and some villagers even died after drinking the dirty water,” Ramili exclaimed.

They shared their problems with a local pastor who visited their home.

With a glimmer of hope, Ramili explained, “he told us about Jesus, and prayed for my son when he was sick.  He also encouraged us to pray for safe drinking water close to our home.”

Even though Ramili and her family were Hindu, they prayed to Jesus for help.  In the meantime, the pastor contacted CBN’s living water’s team.  It wasn’t long until drilling equipment arrived in their village.

“As an answer to our prayers, CBN came to our village and built us a well with a hand pump,” Ramili said happily.  “After seeing how much God loves us, we accepted Jesus as our savior and got baptized.  We give thanks to everyone who made this miracle possible!”
