CBN.com —Tasha, 2, is not yet aware of her cleft palate or the lump growing on her forehead, but her parents certainly are aware.
"As I was holding her in my arms, I looked at her and I couldn't hold back my tears," Tasha's mom told CBN. "I wondered if her conditions could be fixed.Whenever I gave her milk or food, it came out of her nose. I had to take extra care when feeding her. I wondered how long she could survive."
Tasha's parents love her very much.
"Tasha and I are very close because I care for her most of the time," added Tasha's father, Lamson. "Whenever I have to go to the market, she cries wanting to go with me."
Tasha's parents are Christians. They live in a small town in Indonesia where Lamson earns a living selling bird food. With his small income, they knew that paying for surgery was out of the question. CBN made it possible for Tasha to have the cleft lip surgery for free.
"The news was such an encouragement. I thought 'this is God's way of providing healing for my daughter,'" said Lamson.
Tasha's cleft lip surgery was successful. We then arranged for a second surgery to remove the growth on her forehead.
"You have changed her life," said Lamson with a big smile! "Our fears about Tasha's future are gone. We feel like leaping for joy."
"I am thankful for everyone who helped her," added Tasha's mother. "I pray that God will bless CBN and that they will keep helping people in need."
