CBN.com — After Seshamma’s husband died in a car accident, she struggled to raise her two children alone in southern India.
“I worked as a maid. But I hardly earned enough to meet our needs,” she recalls. “Sometimes I couldn’t even feed my children. I knew how to stitch clothes, so I thought I could make more money as a tailor. But, I couldn’t afford to buy a sewing machine.”
Then Seshamma received another blow. Heavy rain flooded part of southern India, washing away her home and all her belongings.
Seshamma and her children moved in with her parents, but they couldn’t support them either. So as a Christian family, they prayed together.
“I believe that whatever the problems may be, Jesus can solve them,” Seshamma says.
Not long after that, CBN came to her village to help flood victims. They gave Seshamma and her family a brand new sewing machine, fabric and school supplies.
“I was thrilled when you brought me the sewing machine,” she says. “I can take orders and stitch at home. Now, I can earn enough to give my children a better life.”
“CBN gave us books, paper, and book bags,” says her daughter, Preethy. “I am so happy.”
“I know God brought you here,” Seshamma says. “Thank you for giving us the sewing machine and helping us live a dignified life.”
