CBN.com — Seven-year-old Erwin wanted to play like the other kids. He simply wasn't able to do that.
"When I ran, the hernia pain got even worse," Erwin says. "So I stopped playing."
Erwin had the hernia since birth, but only recently it has gotten worse. The pain became so severe that he had to stop going to school. Erwin's mother even had to quit her job to stay home with him.
"It had been difficult since I quit my job," says Erwin's mother.
Erwin's older sister Sheilyn also quit school to get a job to support the family.
"I wanted to work so my mom could always be here with my little brother," Sheilyn explains.
When Operation Blessing learned about the problem, we arranged for the young boy to have free surgery.
A few weeks later, Erwin was as good as new!
"The doctor told me that I am already healed and can play or jump," he says. "That's why I am so happy."
