CBN.com -- Mpotlo's husband abandoned her, leaving her to raise their three children alone. She spends most of her day collecting firewood and small bits of leftover charcoal to sell in the market. Even though she isn't educated, she dreams of her children going to school one day. But the nearest school is more than five miles away.
"The route to the school is very dangerous for the children," says Mpotlo. "There are elephants and snakes! Sometimes the elephants attack children, so I can't risk sending my kids to school."
Dozens of families in this area face the same problem. So recently, CBN's Operation Blessing built a Christian school just a few minutes walk from their houses.
"I never thought my children would get an education," says Mpotlo. "Now, I can walk my kids to school, and then start working. Everyone here is very grateful."
While OB visited, the team took Mpotlo more than a month's worth of food and she was overwhelmed. Operation Blessing didn't even realize what a blessing it would be to her. Mpoltlo had just run out of food the day before. The children went to school hungry and she didn't know what she was going to feed them that night. So help came at just the right time.
"I did not know how we'd survive today," says Mpotlo. "I'm grateful to God for your blessing; we've never had so much food!"
CBN will keep giving this family food until they can get ahead a little bit. And Operation Blessing is also teaching Mpotlo how to farm her land, so she won't have to do such back-breaking work every day.
"Thank you so much for all you are doing," says Mpotlo. "Our children have been suffering! Thank you for helping us. I pray for Operation Blessing often. May God bless you."
