CBN.com —7-year-old Geiser loves to draw everything he sees! .
“I like to draw and color with my crayons,” he told us.
“But doing his favorite activity is becoming more difficult for Geisar since he’s developed juvenile cataract in his left eye. Pointing to that eye, he said,
“With this eye, I cannot see anything, so I have get close to the paper to see things better.”
Even at school, Geiser has trouble seeing the board or his assignments.
“His teacher punished him because he wouldn’t participate in class,” said Riena, the boy’s mother. “I don’t think she knows about his vision problems,” she added.
Reina is a widow. She has come to depend on Geiser to help her with the daily chores. But secretly she worries that he will develop a cataract in the other eye and go completely blind.
Reina currently does laundry to support the family of three, but that only brings in enough for food.
“I tried to think of anything I could to do to get eye surgery for him but it was impossible,” she said. “I asked God every day to help us.”
When Operation Blessing learned of Geiser’s condition we quickly arranged for him to have a free surgery to remove the cataract and replace it with a new inner ocular lens. In a matter of minutes the surgery was done and Geiser could see! A few weeks later we went to visit him and found his vision was 20/20 in both eyes.
“I am so grateful that my received this free surgery. You have been a great blessing to us!” said Reina.
And now that Geiser is seeing more clearly, he is drawing and coloring better than ever.
“When I grow up I am going to be a painter,” said Geiser happily. “I am very happy now because I can see with both eyes!”
“Thanks Operation Blessing for the surgery that fixed my son’s eye. I cannot repay you for what you have done for him!” added Reina.
