CBN.com - Angela was excited about having her first baby. But when her son, Tsanta, was born with a cleft lip and palate, the new mom was devastated.
“It was a shock for me,” she says. “I was expecting to see my son smiling, laughing, or crying like any other baby. But when the nurses told me about his problems, I cried and cried.”
She knew her son would have a difficult life.
“It was hard for me to see my son struggle to breathe and swallow food. It broke my heart,” Angela says.
Where they lived in Madagascar, no one could help them. And travelling to have surgery was too expensive.
“I knew my son needed surgery, but there was no way we could ever afford it,” she says.
One day while watching the French version of The 700 Club, Angela heard how CBN had helped other children with cleft palates. She called CBN right away and was soon on her way to Johannesburg, South Africa, with her son. All of the trip expenses and Tsanta’s surgery were paid for by CBN’s Orphan’s Promise.
“I’m very happy because the Lord showed us His goodness and grace. He showed His love to my son. Now he will be able to grow up and have a normal life,” Angela says.
Because of donations from CBN partners, Tsanta will be able to go to school, make friends, find a job, and have a family one day.
“CBN has been the hand of God stretched out to us,” Angela says. “Thank you.”
