CBN.com - When Nelson's parents died, he was forced to live on the streets of Kenya and beg for food.
“Sometimes I had no clothes to wear. I just walked naked in the street,” remembers Nelson. “At night I got so hungry I would knock on people's doors and beg them to feed me something.”
Nelson was starving, but because of his strange behavior, people in the village accused him of being a witch.
“I really didn’t like the way people treated me,” says Nelson. “It made me sad.”
Then one day he heard a pastor preaching on a street corner. He begged him for something to eat. The pastor took him to a children's home supported by CBN’s Orphan's Promise. Here, Nelson found more than a hot meal. He found a home.
“Here I have no problems,” says Nelson. “I have everything I need. Food to eat, a place to sleep, and even clothes to wear.”
Nelson's studying hard in school, and in his spare time likes to read the Bible.
“I want to be a pastor one day, and help other children who are like me,” says Nelson.
The kids at the children’s home are happy and well cared for. Most of them were found living on the street, practically starving, and some of them wouldn't even be alive today if not for the help of CBN’s Orphan's Promise. The childrend thank God for the people who support them.
“Now my life is very good,” says Nelson. “thank you for helping me. I pray that God will bless you!”
