– As long as John can remember, his family has made a living from the sea, but money is so tight that when a day ends without catch of fish, they have little to eat.
"Sometimes, my children ask me why we have no money to buy rice," John says. "As a father, it hurts me that I can’t give them what they need."
Compounding the problem, John had to rent or borrow at boat from his neighbor just to catch fish. During a recent trip, the boat got damaged and John had to pay for the repairs.
That’s when John met some staff members from Operation Blessing who had come to town with an offer to help.
"They prayed for me, and then they asked how they could help me. I told them that I’d been praying for a motorboat."
Operation Blessing gave the family a boat, which now means there is plenty of fish to feed his family and to sell. John is quick to share his new boat with his neighbors.
"The boat is such a blessing to us! We have an income every single day now. I’m finally able to meet my family’s needs. Thank you so much, Operation Blessing, for our boat! I thank God for helping us through you."
