CBN.com – Tucked between Roanoke and Lynchburg, Virginia, lies Smith Mountain Lake. Miles of beautiful shoreline make this a tranquil and lovely place to live. Bonnie Horne calls this home, and she makes a good living in the real estate industry.
But Bonnie didn’t always enjoy such success. At the height of her sales career, her former employer downsized and Bonnie lost her job.
“I went to zero. No income. Nothing coming in,” Bonnie said.
And because Bonnie had signed a non-compete clause, she couldn’t take another sales job in the area.
“At that time, I didn’t have any outlets. None other than to throw up my hands and say, ‘God, if you don’t help me, I’ll die right here,’” Bonnie said. “Within two hours, new Christian friends of mine called me and said, 'We believe we are supposed to put gas in your car and give you money.'”
God continued to send people to help her for over a year until she landed a sales job at Smith Mountain Lake. She also started watching The 700 Club and learned what she needed to do with her now-steady income.
“Give, and it will be given unto you,” Bonnie said.
So Bonnie became a CBN partner and committed to tithing faithfully. Bonnie says God honored that decision.
“The Lord blessed me and increased my income. The more I would give, the more He would bless,” Bonnie said.
Then God gave her the idea of a new business, a real estate magazine that distributed Smith Mountain Lake listings to other areas to bring in new buyers.
Bonnie and three friends launched the magazine Coming Home. Within seven months, the magazine was filled with nearly 50 pages of advertisements and property listings. And it continues to be profitable.
Bonnie is living proof that when we seek God and are faithful to act on what He is calling us to do, God will take care of our every need! God wants to bless you too!
