An Answer for Living Paycheck to Paycheck

Parrish, FL - A couple of years ago, Bill Wilson was the county deputy and his wife Tina was a stay at home mom with their three boys. The couple was excited about their growing family, but discouraged about their tight budget.

“We were living from paycheck to paycheck,” says Bill. “You look at your budget then you look at the expenses that you have going out and then money coming and you are kind of like, how is this going to happen?”

Tina agrees, “It was hard on us, not knowing if we will have money for groceries, mortgage, etc.”

In 2009, Tina started watching the 700 Club and heard about the principle of tithing. Although Bill had grown up in church and knew those basic principles, he had never regularly tithed.

“Off and on we were tithing,” says Tina. “The Lord just kept working on us to keep tithing, whether it was easy or not. I was convinced from watching the 700 Club testimonies and reading the Bible.”

Tina then prayed for God to show Bill how the principles of tithing worked and eventually they decided to give $20.00 a month to CBN on top of their tithe. Just months later, they received a gift that dramatically changed their income and their way of life.

“Tina was looking for a milk cow for our family,” says Bill. “And she went online and found a website for Jersey Acres.”

“Jersey cows are just so cute, with their long eyelashes and big brown eyes,” says Tina.

“She emailed the lady”, says Bill. “And the lady asked if Tina was a Christian.”

“I thought it was a strange question,” recalls Tina. “I said, ‘why do you ask?’ She said, ‘because I have been praying about this cow and I feel like the Lord wants me to give you the cow.’ I was crying because it was a way to show Bill the principle of giving and how tithing works. So I was very, very excited.”

After starting their farm with their one cow, Bobby Joe, Bill and Tina increased their CBN pledge to $40.00 a month. In a single year, their one milk cow turned into a growing business, JTB Jersey Farms. Today, they sell milk, butter, and cheese.

“Because it was the Lord’s idea to give us the cows and he made it come about,” says Tina, “I thought it only appropriate to give him the glory. So, we put J in front of T and B, because it was Jesus’ idea, and then Tina and Bill get to operate the business.”

“Above and beyond giving our ten percent,” says Bill, “we do give to CBN. We have seen our business grow from only one cow to 5 cows and a bull now and we are continuously getting new customers. It has grown tremendously and we have built our new barn. In itself, to go from nothing to have such a nice, fancy barn, I mean, it just shows that He really works.”

“The Lord knew we would enjoy dairy farming,” says Tina. “It amazes me how many prayers are answered in just one business. It is really exciting.”

Bill says you have to take a step of faith. “I know for a fact that the Lord will prevail and he will always step up!”

“To anyone who isn’t convinced,” says Tina,” I would say just to trust Him. He is the God of the Universe and we are his children He wants to prosper us and not to harm us. As a personal testimony, it works!”

Being obedient to God's truth made an incredible difference for this family.
