CBN.com -Russell Fox of Arlington, Texas has always been committed to his family. Before his mother died, he moved home to be her sole caretaker.
He proclaims, “I was just raised that way – resect your mom and dad.”
Russell cooked and cleaned for his mom, and paid her bills—until he unexpectedly lost his job.
“I could not meet her doctor bills,” he says. “It was either food or shelter or medication.”
He was willing to work two or three jobs to make ends meet, but for a while he couldn’t even land one. So he drained his retirement fund. Finally he found a position as a security guard – but it only brought in $10 an hour.
Russell confesses, “I felt like a failure. And I was mad all the time. I just felt terrible. I mean as low as you can go.”
Then one day while he was driving, Russell heard a voice. “It was just like a still voice that just told me ‘Don’t give up.’”
He realized that even though he’d been helping his mother for years, he hadn’t been trusting God - especially with his finances. “I lost everything because I put God on the backburner. I wanted to get out of the slumps. How’s the best way to get out? Tithe!”
Russell tithed on his $10 an hour job and was confident god would provide. He even told a co-worker. “I stood up and I looked him right square in the face and I said, “God will supply all of my needs according to His riches and glory, you wait and see.” Six days later, I get an interview.”
And six days after that, Russell started a new job - making over $60,000 dollars a year. Today, he consistently tithes—and has become a CBN partner. He’s built his 401k account back up and is even thinking of retiring soon.
“I like to give now,” Russell concludes. “If you want financial freedom, test the Lord. Pay your tithes. He will take you as far as you want to go, as long as you’re obedient to Him. Trust me, I tested him, and He came through with flying colors!”
Being obedient to God's truth made an incredible difference for Russell. Join him in partnering with CBN. You will make a difference in lives around the world, through medical missions, food and clothing programs, humanitarian outreaches and so much—all in the name of Jesus. Please join today.
