– Nothing can be as disappointing when starting out, than to see your career fail. That’s exactly what happened to Yvonne Louise as she tried to make it as an artist. But a series of events, and financial tough times, eventually lead her to a very different career and financial prosperity.
Yvonne Louise may has a great career in real estate today, but awhile back things looked very different. She tried to make a living as an artist but had trouble paying her bills.
“It was a major struggle for me,” says Yvonne. “And it was difficult trying to make the car payments and the house payments and taking care of everything and it was not consistent at all.”
Yvonne was a Christian and thought she had learned to trust God completely. Then a pastor pointed out she was really trusting her credit cards. And that hit home.
“I was dependant on those credit cards,” says Yvonne. “It was a back up for me. And when I realized God was supposed to handle everything -- He is my provider -- I wasn’t going to let anything have control over me.”
Yvonne learned another lesson on money. This one came from The 700 Club.
“Pat was teaching on your giving,” says Yvonne. “And on how God blesses back. And I said ‘You know, I’ve got to trust You in this too.’ This was a very difficult area for me to trust in. And I said, ‘I”ve got to find some stability here!’”
So Yvonne started giving 10 percent of her meager earnings. Then Yvonne says she received a message from the Lord in her prayer time.
“I kept hearing go into real-estate, go into real estate,” she says. “And then my pastor’s wife came up to me and said, ‘God is telling me to tell you to go into real estate and we are going to pay for your schooling.’ They would help me with my finances.”
Yvonne found that she had a knack for selling houses. Within two years she was making 55 thousand dollars. During that time she joined The 700 Club and soon moved up to the 1000 Club.
“It was a whole new world for me to have the freedom to give and not to worry,” says Yvonne.
Yvonne started painting on the side because she loved it so much. And between painting and real estate she makes 40 times more then her original income when she was a freelance artist.
“Once you do this, once you realize what God desires to do with your giving, you’ll never turn around. You’ll never go back and your desire is going to give me more so I can give. Give me more so I can give more,” she says.
