Prepare your Heart and Home for Thanksgiving
A special message from Pat Robertson
Give thanks for your many blessings.
It's hard to imagine that Thanksgiving is almost upon us! What a wonderful time of year as we anticipate gathering with family and friends to celebrate the incredible blessings God has bestowed on our lives. The holidays are a time of preparation and joyful plans. Today I am writing to you about another preparation that needs to accompany this season. I'm talking about making your heart and home ready, so that they will be pleasing to our great God.
Isn't it amazing to know that you and I can actually please the Creator of the universe? The Bible tells us in Psalm 69:30–31
Then I will praise God's name with singing,
and I will honor Him with thanksgiving.
For this will please the LORD...
This Thanksgiving, I urge you to take time to thank the Lord. Perhaps you can sit quietly for a few minutes and write out a list of praises to our Savior.
Thank Him for all He has done for you. He has saved you, He has made you perfect in His sight, He has prepared a place for you in heaven, He has committed Himself to answer your prayers and meet you in your every need.
As Americans we have been blessed with living in the greatest of nations. The bounty we enjoy is beyond compare throughout the world. Today, as we are faced with the threat of Islamic terrorism, outbreaks of disease, and an increasing intolerance against all things Christian-we must live lives of praise and service as never before.
These can be the greatest days of witness for Jesus in the history of the world! The Holy Spirit is moving throughout the earth, and the harvest is plentiful and rich.
CBN partners make this work possible. Their prayers and gifts are changing lives for all eternity – and they are fulfilling the commission given by Jesus Himself, to go into all nations, preach the Gospel, and make disciples of all people.
For many hardworking people in our country and around the world, the needs are great this time of year. Many will choose between food and heat, and will face with dread the hungry looks of their children-but we can help them.
I am asking you to join me in our family tradition of giving a special gift, equal to the amount you will spend on your Thanksgiving dinner.
Please prayerfully consider giving a special Thanksgiving gift. Because, you can help bring the Gospel and practical aid to families, widows and children through the many outreaches of CBN.
We have been given so much. Let's give back to the Lord with our sacrifice of thanksgiving, praises, and gifts, and let's bless His wonderful name together.
This Thanksgiving, my prayer for you is that God will fill your heart and home with great joy and praise! May your faith increase and may you see your prayers answered as you declare God's love and glory to a watching world. God bless you!
Yours in Christ,
Pat Robertson
