CBN.com - An Egyptian born attorney now living in the United States has released a book aimed at sharing the Gospel with Muslims.

Called Glad News, God Loves You My Muslim Friend, the volume has been published by Good Shepherd World Evangelism-Ministry to Muslims, a non-denominational organization based at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, CA. It is written in a scholarly style and is aimed at Muslims who know their Koran.

Chuck Smith, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, said of the publication, "This book does an excellent job in relating the whole substance of the Gospel to Muslims against the background of their own beliefs."

Samy Tanagho was born and raised in Egypt where he worked as an attorney before he came to the United States in 1980. He studied Islamic Law and Islamic Religion at Ain Shams University, School of Law, in Cairo.

Working with Muslims since 1976, he explained why he feels it is important to reach out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Muslims.

"Of the world's population, 20.7% are Muslims and Islamic is the fastest growing world religion today," he said. "Muslims are one of the least evangelized people groups in the world and yet it is estimated that only 4% of the Western missionary force is endeavoring to reach Muslims, who comprise at least 37% of all the evangelized peoples of the world."

Tanagho, who teaches "How to Witness to Muslims" at the Calvary Chapel Bible College, Costa Mesa, as well at churches through the US and other parts of the world, has appealed to American Christians to become involved in witnessing to Muslims.

"The immigration of millions of Muslims to the United States has created a wonderful opportunity for us to tell about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ," he said.  "Muslims are now coming to America in a steady stream. They have become our neighbors, co-workers, students in our universities, and fellow citizens.

"The presence of Muslims in the United States is one of the greatest
challenges and opportunities facing the Church today."
