Love is in the Air

-Well folks it’s that time of year again, you know red hearts, pink roses, balloons, cards candy, and animals that sing songs of Love.
Yes, the stores are stocking their shelves with all the above items and more. Actually they began the day after News Years to get ready for Valentines Day. Did you know that more roses are sold on that day then any other day in the year? It is that one day that people show their love for someone special all over the world.
Most mothers and wives are on the lookout for one of the above items or perhaps a trip to a nice restaurant or even a meal cooked for them. It is a great occasion to express love and appreciation for any of your loved ones, but it is important to show little acts of kindness the other 364 days of the year.
I personally can do without a dancing gorilla, singing Love Me Tender, but I sure would miss getting that hug or kiss from my little great granddaughter who helps me when she comes to my house and says, “I love you GiGi.” Or my sons nightly ritual when he says, “Good Night Mom I love you”. He tells me that must be the last words he says every night to me if he is at home -- I guess that it is because we only have today, we are not promised tomorrow.
When my daughter calls she always says “Bye, I love you and this is the best gift, day after day, just to know that I am loved.
It means a lot when family and friends want to spend time with you, share a meal or just talk. You see God tells us in His Word how much He loves us all the time too. His promise is to never leave or forsake us, to answer us when we call day or night. He never slumbers nor sleeps. We need to tell Him how much we love Him 365 days a year as well.
You see flowers will die, candy gets eaten, balloons will pop, the stuffed animals may stop singing and cards may get lost or thrown away, but the love that is shared with one another and God’s love for us will never pass away.
May you find little ways to show some acts of kindness to those you love before and after Valentines Day this year.
Let Love be in the air at all times!
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10 (NIV)
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians: 13)
