I MEAN, I CAN'T SAY

MORE.

Reporter: A SOAP STAR

WITH BIG DREAMS, WINDS UP ON

THE DARK SIDE OF HOLLYWOOD.

AGENTS DROPPED ME.

I HAD MANAGERS DROP ME.

Reporter: PLUS, WE SLOW

COOK WITH THE CROCKING GIRLS

ON TODAY'S "700 CLUB."

Pat: WELL, WELCOME TO

THIS EDITION OF "THE 700

CLUB."

ISAAC JUST CHURNS IN THE

GULF, CHURNS AND CHURNS, AND

DROPS JUST UNTOLD GALLONS OF

WATER ON NEW ORLEANS.

SOMETHING IN THE

NEIGHBORHOOD OF 24 INCHES

HAVE FALLEN, TREMENDOUS

FLOODING.

MORE THAN 700,000 PEOPLE IN

LOUISIANA ARE STUCK WITHOUT

POWER BECAUSE OF THAT

STORM.

AND IT IS NOT OVER YET.

ISAAC COULD DUMP NEARLY, AS

I SAY, TWO FEET OF RAIN BY

THE END OF THIS WEEK.

TERRY?

Terry: ALL OF THAT

WATER COULD LEAD TO

DANGEROUS FLOODING, NEEDLESS

TO SAY.

EPHRAIM GRAHAM BRINGS US

THIS FIRST HAND LOOK AT THE

DEVASTATION.

Reporter: ISAAC IS

BRINGING ANOTHER NAME OF

RAIN, FORECASTERS DON'T

EXPECT THINGS TO CLEAR OUT

UNTIL SOMETIME THIS

EVENING.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRAVEL FAR

TO FIND FLOODING AND

EVACUATION.

THE SHORT DRIVE FROM

DOWNTOWN NEW ORLEANS TO

PLAQUEMINES PAR RICH IS

FILLED WITH FALLEN TREES,

RISING FLOODWATERS AND

BATTERED BUILDINGS.

IT SEEMS HECTIC.

IT SEEMS LIKE A LITTLE MORE

THAN CATEGORY 1.

Reporter: AND HE IS

SCRAMBLING TO FIND GAS TO

KEEP HIS GENERATOR RUNNING

WHILE THE POWER IS OUT.

WE DESCRIBE CATEGORY 1 AS

A STRONG TROPICAL STORM.

BUT ISAAC HAS BEEN QUITE A

CHALLENGE FOR US.

Reporter: PART OF THE

CHALLENGE, CROSSING THESE

CHOPPY WATERS.

THE HARDEST HIT AREA OF

PLAQUEMINES PARISH IS JUST

ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI.

ON A GOOD DAY, YOU CAN RIDE

THE FERRY.

THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

IN A HURRICANE.

WITHOUT THE FERRY, IT IS

ABOUT AN HOUR.

RESCUE CREWS NEED BOATS TO

REACH THOSE STILL TRAPPED IN

THEIR HOME.

I STILL PICTURE MYSELF

HERE.

Reporter: NUNGRESSER

ORDERED AN EVACUATION DURING

THE WEEK.

STILL, HE IS WORKING AROUND

THE CLOCK TO REACH THOSE WHO

DIDN'T LEAVE EAST

PLAQUEMINES.

THERE WAS A HURRICANE AND

NOW THIS.

I'M IN MY SECOND TERM.

Reporter: GOVERNOR

BOBBY JINDAL IS HERE TO

HELP, JUST AS NUNGRESSER

DECIDES TO EVACUATE THESE

100 PATIENTS FROM THIS

NURSING HOME.

ISAAC CONTINUES TO BE A

SLOW-MOVING STORM.

WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO

SEE A ACCUMULATION OF RAIN

WATER AND HOURS AND HOURS OF

WINDS.

Reporter: ISAAC'S

IMPACT WILL THEN BE FELT FOR

YEARS.

WE'RE STILL TAKING IN

VOLUNTEERS FROM KATRINA.

Reporter: PASTOR RANDY

MILLET LEADS A MINISTRY THAT

IS STILL REBUILDING HOMES

AFTER KATRINA.

HIS HOME IN IS ST. BERNARD,

PARISH, BUT HE IS CONCERNED

ABOUT FLOODING.

BUT HE IS MORE CONCERNED

ABOUT HOW TO GIVE HOPE TO

THE VICTIMS OF ISAAC.

WE HAVE TO GIVE HOPE THAT

EVEN IF WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND

WHAT IS GOING ON AT THE

MOMENT, GOD STILL HAS US IN

THE PALM OF HIS HANDS.

Reporter: AND SOME OF

PASTOR RANDY'S BIGGEST

SUPPORT CAME FROM "OPERATION

BLESSING."

AND "OPERATION BLESSING" IS

BACK IN NEW ORLEANS, HELPING

TO FEED PEOPLE AND ASSESS

THE DAMAGE FOR REBUILDING.

EPHRAIM GRAHAM, CBN NEWS,

NEW ORLEANS.

Pat: IT IS IN COUN

INCONCEIVABLE, TWO FEET OF

RAIN IN A FLOODED AREA.

HE DOESN'T SAY WHAT IS

HAPPENING IN LAKE

PONTCHARTRAIN.

THOSE PEOPLE ARE BRAVE, AND

WE'VE BEEN DOWN THERE

WORKING SO LONG, AND THEY'RE

JUST LOVELY, WONDERFUL,

BRAVE PEOPLE.

BUT, ONCE AGAIN, OUR PRAYERS

ARE WITH THOSE IN

LOUISIANA.

LEE WEBB HAS MORE OF OUR

STORIES FROM THE CBN NEWS

ROOM.

Lee: PAT, IT WAS PAUL

RYAN'S NIGHT AT THEñ

REPUBLICAN NATIONALñ

CONVENTION IN TAMPA LASTñ

NIGHT.

MITT ROMNEY CHOSE RYAN AS

HIS RUNNING MATE, BASED ON

HIS REPUTATION AS A LEADER

ON FINANCIAL ISSUES.ññ

AND RYAN SPELLED OUT THEññ

HUGE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE

TWO TICKETS IN HIS ADDRESSñ

LAST NIGHT.

HEATHER CELLS HAS THE

HIGHLIGHTS.

Reporter: THE

42-YEAR-OLD CONGRESSMAN FROM

WISCONSIN CONVEYED YOUTHFUL

OPTIMISM AND DETERMINATION

FROM THE MOMENT HE WALKED ON

STAGE.

HE ALSO EXPRESSED PRIDE IN

HIS ROOTS.

I LIVE ON THE SAME BLOCK

WHERE I GREW UP.

WE BELONG TO THE SAME PARISH

WHERE I WAS BAPTIZED.

Reporter: RYAN WAS

DIRECT IN SPELLING OUT

AMERICA'S ECONOMIC

PROBLEMS.

COLLEGE GRADUATES SHOULD

NOT HAVE TO LIVE OUT THEIR

20s IN THEIR CHILDHOOD

BEDROOMS, STARING AT THE

OBAMA POSTERS AND WONDERING

WHEN THEY CAN GET GOING WITH

LIFE.

WE HAVE A PLAN FOR A

STRONGER MIDDLE CLASS WITH A

GOAL OF GENERATING

12 MILLION NEW JOBS OVER THE

NEXT FOUR YEARS.

Reporter: RYAN ALSO

BLASTED THE OBAMA

ADMINISTRATION FOR RAIDING

MEDICARE TO FUND OBAMACARE.

AND HE PORTRAYED THE

ADMINISTRATION AS ONE WHO'S

SUN HAD ALREADY SET.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN

OPPONENTS SO SILENT ABOUT

THEIR RECORD, AND SO

DESPERATE TO KEEP THEIR

POWER.

THEY'VE RUN OUT OF IDEAS.

THEIR MOMENT CAME AND WENT.

Reporter: HE ALSO

CRITICIZED THE PRESIDENT FOR

TOO MUCH TALK AND TOO LITTLE

ACTION.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,

THESE PAST FOUR YEARS WE

HAVE SUFFERED NO SHORTAGE OF

WORDS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

WHAT IS MISSING IS

LEADERSHIP IN THE WHITE

HOUSE!

[APPLAUSE AND CHEERS]

Reporter: RYAN DIDN'T

HESITATE TO TOUCH ON THE

MORE PERSONAL TOPICS, LIKE

THE 23-AGE GAP BETWEEN THE

RUNNING MATES OR THEIR FAITH

DIFFERENCES.

OUR FAITHS COME TOGETHER

IN THE SAME MORAL CREED.

EACH ONE OF US WAS MADE FOR

A REASON, BEARING THE IMAGE

AND LIKENESS OF THE LORD OF

LIFE.

Reporter: RYAN'S WIFE

AND THREE CHILDREN JOINED

HIM PUBLICLY AFTERWARDS,

SETTING THE STAGE FOR

TONIGHT'S SPEECH FROM THE

MAN WHO WILL LEAD THE

REPUBLICAN TICKET THIS

FALL.

HEATHER CELLS, CBN NEWS.

Lee: AND MANY SOCIAL

CONSERVATIVES ARE WORRIED

THAT A TAX AGAINST AMERICA'S

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM ARE ON THE

RISE.

ONE REPORT SHOWS 600 CASES

OF RELIGIOUS HOSTILITY IN

THE LAST FEW YEARS.

AS PAUL STRAND REPORTS,

BELIEVERS ARE FIGHTING BACK

ON THEIR KNEES.

Reporter: POLITICS,

THAT'S THE EMPHASIS OF MOST

PEOPLE GATHERS IN AND AROUND

TAMPA, BUT FOR AN INCREASING

NUMBER, IT IS BECOMING

SPIRITUAL.

AS CHRISTIAN AMERICANS WORK

TOWARDS HELPING A NATION IN

CRISIS.

WE WANT TO COVER THE

CONVENTION, BOTH THE

REPUBLICAN AND THE

DEMOCRATIC ONE, WITH

PRAYER.

Reporter: REVEREND

JUSTIN PETERS AND OTHERS

WANT LEADERS ACROSS THE

NATION TO COMMIT TO PRAYING

15 MINUTES A DAY FOR THOSE

CONVENTIONS WHILE THEIR IN

SESSION.

THE PROBLEMS ARE SO

GREAT, ONLY THE LORD CAN

HELP US.

ONLY THE LORD CAN SOLVE

THESE PROBLEMS.

Reporter: TAMPA'S ORDER

AND LEANN COSMO HAVE BEEN

INTERCEDING FOR THE NATION'S

LEADERS SINCE 1999.

IT STARTED WITH PRAYER

AROUND THIS LITTLE TABLE

WITH FOUR OR FIVE WOMEN.

AND I STARTED GETTING UP

ABOUT 3:00 IN THE MORNING,

AND I WOULD FIND MYSELF ON

MY FACE BEFORE THE LORD,

WEEPING AND CRYING OUT FOR

OUR NATION.

Reporter: THAT SENSE OF

URGENCY SWEPT THEIR PRAYER

CIRCLE AND BEYOND, RESULTING

IN CONVENTIONS PRAYER

COVERAGE, AN EFFORT TO

ORGANIZE AN AROUND THE

CLOCK, NON-PARTISAN SESSION

FOR POLITICAL LEADERS FOR

BOTH PARTIES.

WE'RE BY PASSING

CANDIDATES, AND WE'RE GOING

UP HERE, AND WE'RE GOING

BACK TO GOD.

AND HE CAN TURN THE HEARTS

OF EITHER ONE OF THEM.

Reporter: SOME 4,000

PEOPLE HAVE COMMITTED

ON-LINE FOR THIS PRAYER

EFFORT.

WE'RE NOT PRAYING FOR ONE

PARTY OR ANOTHER.

IT IS ALL FOR US TO GET GOD

AGAIN.

Reporter: HIS GROUP,

AND THE LIBERTY INSTITUTE

HAVE PUT OUT A THICK REPORT

DOCUMENTING THE ATTACKS.

OVER 600 RELIGIOUS

HOSTILITY CASES, AND IT IS

ALARMING, AND I THINK

AMERICANS NEED TO KNOW OUR

FIRST FREEDOM IS IN

JEOPARDY.

Reporter: AND THERE IS

A REASON THIS REPORT'S

RELEASE CAME ON THE CUSP OF

A NATIONAL POLITICAL

CONVENTION.

AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A

PARTY OF PEOPLE THAT WILL

STAND UP AND DEFEND

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

Reporter: A NEW BOOK ON

THIS SAYS THAT SE SECULARS

SEEM TO BE SAYING --

GET IT OUT OF SIGHT.

THEY WANT TO TREAT

CHRISTIANS LIKE SMOKERS, YOU

CAN DO IT IN YOUR OWN HOME,

BUT NOT OUT IN PUBLIC.

Reporter: SHE SAYS IT

IS SHOWS A FRIGHTENING

TREND, BUT HOPE.

THE WARNING IS ATTACKS

ARE NOT ON THE DECREASE,

THEY'RE ON THE INCREASE.

BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS WERE

WHEN WE STAND UP, MOST OF

THE TIME WE PREVAIL.

Reporter: PAUL STRAND,

REPORTING FROM THE NATIONAL

CONVENTION.

Lee: CONDOLEEZZA RICE

ADDRESSED THE CONVENTION.

SHE WARNED THAT AMERICA

STANDING IN THE WORLD IS AT

RISK.

EITHER NO ONE WILL LEAD

AND THERE WILL BE CHAOS, OR

SOMEONE WILL FILL THE VACUUM

WHO WILL NOT SHARE OUR

VALUES.

MY FELLOW AMERICANS, WE DO

NOT HAVE A CHOICE.

WE CANNOT BE RELUCTANT TO

LEAD, AND YOU CANNOT LEAD

FROM BEHIND.

Lee: BEFORE HER SPEECH,

RICE SAT DOWN WITH CBN'S

DAVID BRODY, AND HE ASKED

HER HOW THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

CAN DO A BETTER JOB WITH

DIVERSITIY.

I ALWAYS SAID THE

REPUBLICAN PARTY SUFFERED

FROM THE EARLY 1960s, AND

IN ASSOCIATION WITH NOT

BEING PART OF THE CIVIL

RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

WE'RE NOW 40 YEARS PAST THAT

TIME, AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO

LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE ABOUT

EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN,

PARTICULARLY FOR MINORITY

CHILDREN, FAMILY AND

FAITH -- VERY IMPORTANT TO

MINORITIES.

AND SO I SAY TO PEOPLE, I

DON'T CARE WHERE YOU COME

DOWN, BUT LISTEN, DON'T BE

TRAPPED WITHIN ONE PARTY.

DON'T LET ONE PARTY TAKE YOU

FOR GRANTED BECAUSE THE

REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS A LOT

TO OFFER.

Lee: AND YOU CAN SEE

MORE OF DAVID'S COVERAGE OF

THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL

CONVENTION ON THIS WEEK'S

EDITION OF "THE BRODY FILE"

AT 9:30 ON THE ABC FAMILY

CHANNEL AT FRIDAY, AND ON

CBNNEWS.COM.

Pat: JUST A LITTLE

ASIDE, THERE IS A CHANGE

NETWORK CHANNEL CALLED

MSNBC, AND IT USED TO BE A

COMBINATION OF MICROSOFT AND

NBC, AND THE RATINGS ARE

ABOMINABLE, AND THEY DECIDED

THEY WANT TO GO ULTRA LEFT

WING.

AND THEY'RE STRIPPING FROM

CONVENTION COVERAGE EVERY

AFRICAN-AMERICAN OR EVERY

HISPANIC WHO IS SPEAKING.

AND THEY ARE ONLY PUTTING IN

WHITE, ANGLO SAXON MALES, OR

WHATEVER, TO SPEAK.

THE MESSAGE IS THAT THE

REPUBLICANS ARE AN ELITE

GROUP OF WHITES.

Terry: THEY'RE HOPING

THEY CAN CONTROL THE

PERCEPTION.

Pat: OF COURSE.

BUT TO DELIBERATELY CUT

STUFF OUT -- IT'S SHOCKING.

SOONER OR LATER NBC UNIVERSE

OWNS THEM, AND I GUESS

THEY'RE HAPPY TO HAVE A

BUNCH OF LEFT-WINGERS

SCREAMING OR YELLING.

IT SEEMS TO ME SOONER OR

LATER THEY'LL PULL THE PLUG

BECAUSE RATINGS DO COUNT.

Terry: MAYBE IT

WOULDN'T HAVE MUCH IMPACT.

Pat: IT DOESN'T HAVE

MUCH IMPACT, BUT SOMEBODY

HAS GOT TO PAY THE TAB.

Terry: COMING UP,

THOUSANDS FLEEING THEIR

HOMELAND BECAUSE OF A CIVIL

WAR, AND LEAVING EVERYTHING

BEHIND.

SEE WHERE THEY'RE GOING AND

WHO'S TAKING THEM IN.

THAT'S NEXT.

Pat: WELCOME BACK TO

THIS THURSDAY'S EDITION OF

"THE 700 CLUB."

WE'RE SO HAPPY THAT YOU ARE

WITH US.

HEY, WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE

IN A COUNTRY THAT IS TORN

APART IN A VIOLENT CIVIL

WAR?

WELL, THOUSANDS OF THE

PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN SYRIA

HAVE SAID NO.

AND THEY HAVE RUN AWAY FROM

THEIR HOMES TO ESCAPE THE

FIGHTING.

WELL, AS GARY LANE REPORTS,

AND THIS IS AN EXCLUSIVE FOR

CBN, MANY OF THEM ARE

FINDING HELP AND HOPE.

Reporter: GOVERNMENT

WAR PLANES BOMB

NEIGHBORHOODS NORTH OF

ALEPPO, CLAIMING MORE

VICTIMS.

SYRIA IS NOW MARKED BY

DEATH, DESTRUCTION, AND

DARKNESS.

TENS OF THOUSANDS FLEE FOR

THEIR LIVES, EITHER ACROSS

BORDERS OR INSIDE SYRIA.

CBN NEWS OBTAINED THIS RARE

LOOK INTO THE PLIGHT OF ONE

CHRISTIAN FAMILY.

THEIR HOME DESTROYED, THEY

NOW LIVE WITH FRIENDS IN

ANOTHER CITY.

Translator: IT IS SO HARD

TO BE OUT OF OUR HOME.

I'M SAD THAT WE LEFT ALL

OUR MEMORIES BEHIND.

OUR CHURCH WAS ALSO

DESTROYED.

MY CHURN WERE BAPTIZED THERE

AND WE WERE MARRIED THERE.

WE HOPE GOD WILL KEEP US

SAFE AND EVERYTHING WILL BE

OKAY.

Reporter: MOST

CHRISTIANS REMAIN IN SYRIA.

OTHERS, ALAWITES, AND SUNNI

MUSLIMS ARE LEAVING.

THE UNITED STATES ESTIMATES

THE NUMBER OF SYRIA REFUGEES

AT 170,000.

THEY HAVE SCATTERED ACROSS

THE REGION, ENDING UP IN

TURKEY, LEBANON, IRAQ, AND

JORDAN.

TENS OF THOUSANDS MORE ARE

UNREGISTERED.

THEIR NEEDS ARE OVERRULING.

BUT JORDANIAN CHURCHES AND

CHRISTIANS ARE DOING

EVERYTHING THEY CAN HELP.

MANY PEOPLE GET TO JORDAN

WITH JUST THE CLOTHES ON

THEIR BACK, NO FOOD.

Reporter: HE SAYS MANY

OF THE SYRIANS HAVE MOVED

FROM BORDER CAMPS TO

APARTMENTS.

THEY HAVE NOTHING IN

THERE.

NOTHING EVEN ON THE FLOOR.

THEY'RE EMPTY APARTMENTS,

NOT IN THE BEST PLACES IN

TOWN, THAT'S FOR SURE.

THAT'S WHERE THEY'RE GOING

IN THE MAJOR CITY.

Reporter: WE MET ONE

FAMILY HELPED BY THE

EFFORT.

THEIR FACES ARE COVERED TO

PROTECT THEIR IDENTITIES.

WE'LL CALL THIS REFUGEE

HUNSA, HE IS A SUNNI MUSLIM

WHO SERVED AS A MEDIC FOR

THE FREE SYRIA MOVEMENT.

THEY MADE IT WORSE FOR US

MEDICS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T

WANT REBELS TO RECEIVE

MEDICAL HELP.

THEY WERE SEEKING

INFORMATION ABOUT MY FRIENDS

AND THEIR MOVEMENTS.

I REFUSED TO TELL THEM

ANYTHING.

IT WAS TERRIBLE.

THEY BEAT ME SO BADLY.

I COULDN'T LIE DOWN FOR ONE

WEEK.

Reporter: HUNSA SAYS

HIS CAPTORS LET HIM GO AFTER

HE PAID THEM MONEY.

HE AND HIS FAMILY LATER FLED

TO JORDAN AND NOW LIVE IN

THIS APARTMENT.

HE IS UNEMPLOYED, SO A

SYRIAN FRIEND PAYS THE

RENT.

BUT IT IS VISITS AND FOOD

FROM CHRISTIANS THAT MADE A

LASTING IMPACT ON HIS

FAMILY.

THEY HAVE BEEN A GREAT

HELP TO US.

I SEE THEM AS BROTHERS.

I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH

THEM BEING FROM A DIFFERENT

FAITH.

Reporter: SOME OF THE

REFUGEES ATTEND CHURCH

SERVICES LIKE THIS ONE.

GOING TO THE CHURCH WE

ARE RESPECTED.

WE MAINTAIN OUR PRIDE AND

DIGNITY.

MOST OF THE OTHER

ORGANIZATIONS ARE NOT

PROVIDING HELP.

THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE

BETWEEN THE CHURCH AND THE

OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IS THE

LOVE AND FEELING THAT

CHRISTIANS HAVE FOR US.

AS THE BELIEVERS GET A

CHANCE TO FEED THEM AND THEN

THEY'RE TRUSTED AS SAFE

PEOPLE, THEY'VE HAD MANY

OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE THE

GOSPEL WITH SOME OF THESE

REFUGEES.

THERE ARE EVEN ENOUGH OF

THEM THAT THEY'VE STARTED

SOME SMALL HOUSE CHURCHES.

GOD IS BEING GLORIFIED IN

THE MIDST OF THIS MESS.

Reporter: DOYLE TOLD US

HOW HE SAW THE EFFECT ON THE

REFUGEES.

THIS WOMAN LOOKED AT ME

AND SAID IT WAS THE BIBLE

PEOPLE THAT CAME TO US AND

GAVE US FOOD AND CLOTHES AND

LOVED US AND PLAYED WITH OUR

CHILDREN.

IT WAS THE BIBLE PEOPLE THAT

WERE THERE FOR US.

WHEN SHE GOT DONE SHARING

HER STORY, THEN SHE LOOKED

AT ME AND SHE SAID, I WANT

YOU TO KNOW I LOVE JESUS

NOW.

Reporter: OUT OF

WAR-TIME TRAGEDY COMES HELP

FROM THE BIBLE PEOPLE,

CHRISTIANS SHARING THE LOVE

OF CHRIST, SHINING LIFE INTO

THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE IN

CHRONIC DARKNESS.

GARY LANE, CBN NEWS, AMMAN,

JORDAN.

Pat: ISN'T THAT A

BEAUTIFUL THING, OUT OF THE

DIFFICULTY, THE SUFFERING

THAT CIVIL WAR HAS BROUGHT

ON, THE LOVE OF CHRIST

SHINES FORTH.

WHO KNOWS, PERHAPS A REVIVAL

WILL COME OUT OF THAT

TRAGEDY.

GARY, GOOD WORK.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

TERRY?

Terry: UP NEXT, EASY TO

MAKE MEALS WITH JUST TWO

STEPS.

YOU PREP IT AND THEN FORGET

IT.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT

IT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.

AND WE'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO

IT WHEN WE COME BACK.

Terry: WHEN JENNA GOT

PREGNANT WITH HER SECOND

CHILD, SHE NEEDED A WAY TO

FEED HER FAMILY WITHOUT

GETTING EXHAUSTED.

SO SHE TEAMED UP WITH HER

GOOD FRIEND AND FELLOW MOM,

PUT TOGETHER SOME RECIPES

AND WATCHED THEIR WORK GO

VIRAL.

Reporter: JENNA FOUND

COOKING IN CROCKPOTS SAVED

TIME AND ENERGY.

SO SHE STARTED USING ONE

WHILE EXPECTING HER SECOND

CHILD.

SOON HER FRIEND SUGGESTED

THEY START OUT CROCKING

GIRLFRIEND'S REPIECE.

SURPRISINGLY, THEY GOT OVER

500,000 LIKES IN TWO WEEKS.

SINCE THEN, THESE MAMAS

WRAPPED UP THEIR SLOW

COOKING RECIPES SO THERE IS

SLOW COOKING AND MORE

PLAYING.

Terry: WE WANT TO THANK

YOU FOR BEING ON THE

PROGRAM.

TELL US HOW YOUR FRIENDSHIP

STARTED.

I ACTUALLY GREW UP WITH

STANTON, WHICH IS JENNA'S

HUSBAND.

WHEN THEY GOT MARRIED, MY

HUSBAND, CHRIS, AND I WERE

ATTENDING THE CHURCH.

THEY GOT MARRIED AND WE

FOUND OUT WE WERE EXPECTING

AT THE SAME TIME.

SO THAT REALLY BONDED US

WHEN WE HAD OUR BABIES ON

THE SAME DAY.

Terry: SO YOU HAD SOME

OF THE SAME DILEMMAS, AS FAR

AS BEING ABLE TO PROVIDE

FOOD IN AN EASY AND

EFFICIENT MANNER FOR YOUR

BABIES.

YOU SAY THESE LITTLE

BEAUTIES, THE CROCKPOT, ARE

THE SINGLE MOST AMAZING

APPLIANCE EVER MADE.

WE LOVE THEM.

IT WASN'T JUST NICOLE AND I

STRUGGLING.

EVERY MOM FEELS GUILTY IF

YOU DON'T HAVE FOOD ON THE

TABLE.

IF YOU HAVE YOUR DINNER

GOING AT 11:00 OR 10:00, OR

BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR WORK IN

THE MORNING, THAT IS ONE

LESS STRESS AS A MOM THAT

YOU HAVE.

AND IT IS A PAT ON THE

BACK WHEN EVERYBODY GETS TO

SIT DOWN AND ENJOY A MEAL

TOGETHER.

Terry: AND THAT IS

INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO DO

IN TODAY'S CULTURE WITH

EVERYBODY RUNNING AROUND.

SO IF YOU CAN JUST PRESENT

IT, THAT IS HALF THE

BATTLE.

I THINK EVERYONE IS

CRAVING SIMPLICITY IN THEIR

LIVES.

AWAY WE CAN FIND THAT IN OUR

LIVES --

Terry: SIMPLICITY AND

THE KIND OF FAMILY TIME

YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

DEFINITELY.

Terry: TALK ABOUT THE

NUTRITION OF THIS.

EVERYBODY IS INTO THAT.

ARE THESE HEALTHY MEALS?

THEY'RE HEALTHY MEALS.

THEY'RE YUMMY AND GOOD.

ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN

HITTING THAT DRIVE-THROUGH.

AND WE HAVE A CROCK AND

LIGHT RECIPES ON OUR WEBSITE.

Terry: AND YOU HAVE A

CROCKING GIRLS CLUB.

WE HAVE A WEEKLY VIDEO.

WE STARTED THIS PAGE WITH

THE IDEA, LET'S ALL COOK THE

SAME THING ON MONDAY.

CROCKING MONDAY.

SO ON FRIDAY, WE SEND YOU AN

INGREDIENT LIST, AND YOU CAN

GO SHOPPING OVER THE

WEEKEND, AND THEN ON SUNDAY,

WE GIVE YOU YOU THE VIDEO

LINK, AND WE CAN HAVE THE

SAME MEAL ON MONDAY.

TERY

Terry: YOU ARE REALLY

DOING THE LEG WORK.

AND IT'S FUN.

Terry: YOUR COOKBOOK,

BY THE WAY, IS REALLY FUN TO

READ.

IT IS BEAUTIFULLY DONE.

AND IT HAS LOTS OF WONDERFUL

IDEAS FOR MEALS.

SOMETIMES YOU SEE A GREAT

COOKBOOK, BUT YOU THINK, MY

FAMILY IS NOT GOING TO EAT

THAT.

THESE ARE VERY

FAMILY-ORIENTED RECIPES.

I LIKE THAT.

WE'RE GOING TO START WITH

BREAKFAST.

TELL US WHAT WE'RE DOING

HERE, NICOLE.

THIS IS OUR MORNING

CASSEROLE.

YOU CAN FIND ALL OF THESE

RECIPES IN OUR COOKBOOK, THE

SLOW COOKING COMPANION.

I LOVE TO MAKE BREAKFAST.

YOU KNOW, I'M NOT MUCH OF A

MORNING PERSON, SO I CAN PUT

THIS ON AT NIGHT, BEFORE I

GO TO BED, AND IT COOKS ALL

NIGHT LONG, AND WE WAKE UP

AND WE HAVE BREAKFAST

READY.

JENNA, I'M GOING TO GET YOU

TO WISK THIS FOR ME.

IT

IS EGGS AND MILK.

WE'RE GOING TO LAYER, AND

WE'RE

GOING

TO

SPRAY THIS

SLOW COOKER.

Terry: I LOVE THAT

PARTICULAR CROCKPOT.

IT'S THE ONE I HAVE.

YOU CAN

LIST IT

RIGHT OUT OF

THERE AND PUT IT ON YOUR

TABLE.

YES.

WE SHARED A PICTURE ON OUR

Facebook PAGE, AND SOMEONE

SAID, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU

COULD SERVE OUT OF IT.

YES, DON'T DIRTY ANOTHER

DISH.

ALL RIGHT, WE'VE GOT SOME

HASHED BROWNS, SOME BACON,

AND YOU CAN USE SAUSAGE AS

WELL -- WHATEVER MEAT YOU

PREFER.

Terry: AND THOSE ARE

PEPPERS?

BELL PEPPERS.

AND, YOU KNOW, WE LIKE TO

SNEAK VEGGIES IN ANY TIME WE

CAN IN WITH OUR KIDDOS.

Terry: MY KIDS ARE IN

THEIR 20s, AND I STILL

LIKE TO SNEAK THEM IN.

AND WE ALSO MAKE ONE THAT

HAS SPINACH IN IT AND, AND

THAT IS REALLY YUMMY.

AND YOU CAN LAYER THIS IF

YOU WANT TO.

POUR THOSE EGGS RIGHT OVER

THIS.

Terry: THIS IS THE TYPE

OF RECIPE THAT CAN BE

ADAPTED TO BECOME LARGER,

DEPENDING ON YOUR CROWD.

YES.

AND SOME CHEESE -- WHO

DOESN'T LIKE CHEESE.

Terry: I'M A WISCONSIN

GIRL.

WE'RE ALL ABOUT THE CHEESE.

AND WE'LL ADD A LITTLE

BIT OF SALT AND PEPPER.

THIS WILL JUST COOK

OVERNIGHT.

SOMETIMES WE LIKE TO HAVE

BREAKFAST AT NIGHT, TOO.

EIGHT HOURS ON LOW.

Terry: THAT LOOKS GOOD,

BUT THIS SMELLS GOOD BECAUSE

IT IS ALL DONE.

YES.

SO AFTER YOU'VE EATEN THIS,

AND YOU WANT TO DO A LITTLE

LEFTOVERS --

Terry: YOU'RE GOING TO

MAKE A MAKEOVER.

YES.

LET'S SAY YOU MAKE A BUNCH.

AND WE HAVE FOUR, TWO ADULTS

AND TWO KIDS IN OUR FAMILY,

SO WE HAVE LEFTOVERS.

AND WE MIGHT NOT WANT TO EAT

THIS AGAIN AS A CASSEROLE.

WHAT I LIKE TO DO -- MY

HUSBAND IS A SCHOOL

ADMINISTRATOR, AND HE IS OUT

THE DOOR BEFORE I EVER THINK

ABOUT GETTING GOING IN THE

MORNING.

SO IF I HAVE SOME BREAKFAST

BURRITOS READY FOR HIM, I

FEEL LIKE, HEY, I JUST MADE

HIM SOME BREAKFAST.

Terry: SO YOU'RE

ACTUALLY TAKING THE

LEFTOVERS AND YOU'RE PUTTING

IT IN A TORTILLA.

IN A TORTILLA, AND WE

MIGHT ADD A LITTLE EXTRA

CHEESE.

YOU'RE GOING TO FOLD IT UP

AND ROLL THAT BUYE BER

BURRITO, AND YOU CAN PUT IT

IN A BAGGY OR FRIG,

DEPENDING ON HOW LONG YOU

NEED TO.

Terry: AND SO YOU'VE

GOT A BREAKFAST MEAL FOR

MORE THAN ONE DAY.

RIGHT.

Terry: WHAT'S THIS,

BECAUSE THIS IS -- WOW!

THIS IS POTATO SOUP.

WE'RE FROM TEXAS, SO THE

FIRST HINT OF COLD WEATHER,

WE LIKE US SOME SOUP.

SO WE HAVE A BAKED POTATO

SOUP.

I'M GOING TO LADLE IT.

YOU HAVE A NICE LITTLE BREAD

BOWL.

WE LOVE THAT.

Terry: THAT'S AWESOME.

I LOVE POTATO SOUP

BECAUSE IT IS HEARTY ENOUGH

TO HAVE AS A FULL MEAL.

Terry: IT IS KIND OF

FUN.

YOU'VE GOT ALL OF THE

TOPPINGS HERE, SO PEOPLE CAN

MAKE IT WHAT THEY WANT IT TO

BE.

LIKE A BAKED POTATO.

MY KIDDOS WILL EAT IT

BETTER

IF THEY

FEEL LIKE

THEY'VE HAD SOME HANDS-ON.

SO THIS IS KIND OF LIKE

HAVING A LOADED BAKED POTATO

WITH ALL OF THE TOPPINGS.

Terry: THAT IS AWESOME,

WONDERFUL.

IT IS GETTING TO BE -- IT

DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT, BUT

FALL IS ON THE RISE.

SO IT IS A HEARTY SOUP FOR

THE FAMILY.

IS THIS CALLED HURRY UP

CHICKEN?

IT IS CALLED CHICK IN A

HURRY.

AND IT LITERALLY DOESN'T

TAKE ANY TIME TO FIX AT

ALL.

THIS IS ANOTHER LONG

RECIPE.

IT COOKS FOR EIGHT HOURS,

BUT YOU JUST DUMP ALL OF THE

INGREDIENTS IN THERE AND LET

IT COOK ALL DAY.

Terry: THE GREAT THING

ABOUT THE CROCKPOT, EVEN

AFTER IT COOKS, IT JUST GOES

TO WARM.

THE AUTO SWITCH IS

GREAT.

AND ANOTHER THING WE LIKE

TO DO WITH THIS RECIPE IS

PREPARE IT, FREEZE IT.

DON'T COOK IT YET.

JUST PUT IT IN A BAGGY,

FREEZE IT, AND POP IT IN

YOUR SLOW COOKER IN THE

MORNING --

AND IT ADDS AN EXTRA TWO

HOURS TO YOUR COOK TIME.

Terry: I HAD NO IDEA

YOU COULD MAKE BROWNIES IN A

CROCKPOT.

TELL ME ABOUT THIS BECAUSE

WE'RE DOWN TO DESSERT.

WE ARE CHOCOLATE-LOVERS.

Terry: WHO ISN'T, MAY I

JUST SAY.

THERE ARE MANY DESSERTS

IN HERE, AND A LOT OF THEM

ARE CHOCOLATE.

THIS IS JUST A FUDGE

BROWNIE.

IT IS REALLY SIMPLE.

ALL OF THESE INGREDIENTS

WILL BE ON HAND.

Terry: LOOK HOW PRETTY,

WHEN YOU CAN JUST, AGAIN,

GIVE YOUR FAMILY A CHANCE TO

MAKE THEIR OWN DESSERT

CREATION.

IT LOOKS WONDERFUL.

AND THE ONLY THING PRETTIER

THAN THE DESSERT IS THE

COOKBOOK.

IT IS FILLED WITH THE

RECIPES, WRITTEN BY JENNA

AND NICOLE, AND ATTACHING

FEATURING CONTRIBUTIONS FROM

MANY OF THEIR FRIENDS.

IT IS GOING TO GIVE YOU AN

OPPORTUNITY TO COOK WELL FOR

YOUR FAMILY AND STILL HAVE

GREAT QUALITY TIME WITH

THEM.

BY THE WAY, WE MENTIONED

THIS EARLIER, BUT IF YOU

WANT TO KEEP UP WITH THE

LATEST FROM THE CROCKING

GIRLS, LIKE THEIR

Facebook, IT IS AT

Facebook.COM/HAPPYCROCK I

Facebook.COM/HAPPYCROCKI

NG.

PAT, WHILE WE TRY THIS OUT,

I'M SO SORRY, BUT BACK TO

WORK FOR YOU.

Pat: YOU DON'T KNOW

THAT I DO CROCKPOT POT

ROAST.

I'M ALL FOR THEM, LADIES.

YOU'RE DOING A GREAT JOB.

YOU'RE LIBERATING WOMEN FROM

THE KITCHEN.

WONDERFUL.

STILL AHEAD, THEY SAY SHOW

BUSINESS WILL EAT YOU UP AND

SPIT YOU OUT.

WELL, BRIAN PRESLEY

SAYS, "FROM MY EXPERIENCE,

THAT'S A TRUE STATEMENT."

I HAD AGENTS DROP ME.

I HAD MANAGERS DROP ME.

IT SEEMED TAKING MY OWN LIFE

SEEMED LIKE THE SOLUTION AT

THAT POINT.

Pat: HEAR HOW BRIAN

SURVIVED HOLLYWOOD, COMING

UP NEXT.

CLERICAL

Reporter: WELCOME BACK

TO WASHINGTON FOR THIS CBN

NEWS BREAK.

A FEDERAL JUDGE SAYS

OFFICIALS IN CHATTANOOGA,

TENNESSEE, CAN CONTINUE

OPENING MEETINGS WITH

PRAYER.

THIS COMES AFTER TWO MEN

FILED A LAWSUIT CLAIMING

THAT PRAYERS PROMOTE

CHRISTIANITY AND VIOLATE THE

FIRST AMENDMENT.

THEY ORIGINALLY REQUESTED

THAT THE PRAYER BE REPLACED

BY A MINUTE OF SILENCE.

COMMISSIONERS REFUSED THEIR

REQUEST.

THE CITY ADOPTED A NEW

POLICY IN WHICH MINISTERS

FROM ALL DIFFERENT FAITHS

ARE ASKED TO OFFER PRAYER.

THE JUDGE RULED IN FAVOR OF

THE CITY AND REFUSED TO STOP

THE PRAYERS.

PAT AND TERRY WILL BE BACK

WITH MORE OF "THE 700 CLUB"

RIGHT AFTER THIS.

Pat: IN HIS MOST RECENT

FILM, "TOUCHBACK," ACTOR

BRIAN PRESLEY PLAYED A HIGH

SCHOOL FOOTBALL STAR WHO

YEARS LATER WAS FACED WITH A

DECISION: CHANGE HIS LIFE OR

DIE.

IT IS A ROLE BRIAN PRESLEY

WAS BORN TO PLAY BECAUSE HIS

LIFE FOLLOWED EXACTLY THAT

SAME SCRIPT.

FROM OKLAHOMA TO SUNSET

BOULEVARD IS KIND OF ONE OF

THOSE YOU'RE NOT IN KANSAS

ANYMORE MOMENTS.

Reporter: ACTOR AND

PRODUCER BRIAN PRESLEY IS

BEST KNOWN FOR HIS ROLE ON

THE SOAP OPERA, "PORT

CHARLES."

AND "GUARDING EDDIE."

I ALWAYS DREMPT OF BEING

AN ACTOR.

Reporter: BRIAN

HARKINS, FROM A TULSA,

OKLAHOMA, WHERE HE WAS A

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL STAR

AND A HOME-TOWN HERO.

A CHRISTIAN FAMILY,

AMAZING FAMILY, AMAZING MOM

AND DAD.

I DON'T REMEMBER A TIME THAT

THE CHURCH WASN'T PART OF MY

LIFE.

OUR PARENTS TAUGHT US

ETHICS, MORALS, NEVER BE

AFRAID TO CHANGE YOUR

DREAMS.

Reporter: BUT THOSE

WIND-SWEPT PLAINS, FRIDAY

NIGHT LIGHTS AND HOME

COOKING COULDN'T COMPETE

WITH THE GLAMOUR OF SUNSET

BOULEVARD.

AT 19, BRIAN MOVED TO

LOS ANGELES TO FOLLOW A

DREAM.

I FELT GOD CALLING ME TO

START A COMPANY THAT WOULD

COMBINE SECULAR VALUES.

HE WAS THE NUMBER ONE THING

IN MY LIFE.

I WAS STILL WALKING VERY

CLOSE WITH GOD.

Reporter: AFTER SEVERAL

SUCCESSFUL COMMERCIALS,

BRIAN'S DARK, BROODING

LOOKS, LANDED HIM A PART IN

THE SOAP OPERA, "DARK

SHADOWS," AND HE MET HIS

WIFE.

SHE WAS A WOMAN WHO LOVES

GOD.

I THOUGHT, I'M NOT GOING TO

LET THIS ONE GET AWAY.

HE NEVER WOULD HIDE HIS

FAITH.

HE ALWAYS HAD A BIBLE OPEN.

AND THAT IS THE BIGGEST

REASON WHY I WAS ATTRACTED

TO BRIAN PRESLEYMENT.

Reporter: FOR BRIAN, A

ROLE IN THE SOAP OPERA WAS

JUST A MEANS TO FINANCE HIS

FILM COMPANY.

BUT IN HOLLYWOOD, BIG DREAMS

CAN DIE AN AGONIZING DEATH.

HOLLYWOOD IS A VERY

SELF-CENTERED INDUSTRY.

YOU'RE AS GOOD AS YOUR NEXT

JOB.

AS I STARTED GAINING SUCCESS

AND YOU GET INVITED TO THESE

PARTIES AND YOU'RE GOING TO

EMMY AWARDS, IT WAS A

ROLLERCOASTER.

Reporter: BRIAN BEGAN

TO DRINK TO HANDLE THE

STRESS.

SEVERAL YEARS LATER, HE

THOUGHT HE HAD SEALED THE

MOVIE DEAL THAT WOULD LAUNCH

HIS FILM COMPANY, BUT IT

TURNED INTO A MOVIE DEAL

GONE BAD.

THE BROKEN PROMISES, BITTER

RECRIMINATIONS, AND HUGE

FINANCIAL LOSSES SHOOK BRIAN

TO THE CORE.

MY HEART IMMEDIATELY JUST

FELL TO THE FLOOR.

I THOUGHT, YOU KNOW, THEY

CAN'T DO THAT.

THEY HAVE A CONTRACT.

Reporter: BRIAN DIDN'T

WANT ERIN TO WORRY AS SHE

PREPARED TO GIVE BIRTH TO

THEIR FIRST CHILD.

I STARTED TAKING LOANS

OUT.

HAD AGENTS DROP ME.

I HAD MANAGERS DROP ME.

WE GOT TO WHERE WE COULDN'T,

YOU KNOW, MAKE OUR MONTHLY

PAYMENTS.

IT STARTED JUST SPIRALLING

TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN.

ALL OF THIS TIME, I BEGAN TO

DRINK MORE AND MORE AND

MORE.

THERE WERE DAYS WHERE, YOU

KNOW, IF I STARTED FALLING

INTO DEPRESSION, AND IT

SEEMED LIKE TAKING MY OWN

LIFE SEEMED LIKE THE

SOLUTION AT THAT POINT.

Reporter: FINALLY BRIAN

TOLD ERIN ABOUT THEIR

FINANCIAL LOSSES.

BUT ERIN KNEW THE BIGGER

ISSUE IT WAS BRIAN'S

SPIRITUAL CONDITION.

I WOULD DRAG HIM TO

CHURCH.

WHEN HE WAS REALLY HUNG

OVER, AND THAT'S WHEN HE

NEEDED HIM THE MOST.

I REMEMBER CERTAIN POINTS

AND THE SERVICE, I COULD

ALWAYS TELL WHEN GOD HAD

GOTTEN THROUGH TO HIM

BECAUSE HE WOULD REACH OVER

AND GRAB MY HAND.

AT THAT VERY MOMENT, I WOULD

ALWAYS THINK, THANK YOU.

Reporter: BY NOW THE

PRESLEYS HAD A SECOND CHILD,

A LITTLE GIRL, BUT BRIAN'S

DRINKING CONTINUED.

I WOULD TRY TO TELL

MYSELF, I WANT TO STOP, I'M

GOING TO STOP, BUT I

COULDN'T.

I COULDN'T.

I WAS MAD.

I WAS MAD AT GOD.

I WAS MAD AT THIS PATH I WAS

SUPPOSED TO GO DOWN

COMPLETELY TURNED.

I TURNED AWAY FROM CHURCH.

I TURNED AWAY FROM GOD.

MY WIFE WOULD TRY TO TELL ME

TO GO BACK TO CHURCH.

I WOULD TELL HER I DON'T

WANT PEOPLE IN MY BUSINESS.

I DON'T WANT TO BE JUDGED.

Reporter: BRIAN'S

PHYSICAL HEALTH WAS

DETERIORATING, TOO.

IN 2010, HE WAS HOSPITALIZED

WITH EARLY STAGES OF LIVER

AND KIDNEY FAILURE.

THAT'S WHEN THE ONCE

PROMISING ACTOR BEGAN TO

FACE REALITY.

HE SAID, I'M IN SERIOUS

TROUBLE.

AND I SAID WHY?

AND HE SAID, I MADE AN

ABSOLUTE MESS OF MY LIFE.

Reporter: YET EVEN

AFTER HIS RECOVERY, BRIAN

CONTINUED TO DRINK.

HE SAYS IT TOOK THE

HOSPITALLATION OF

HOSPITALIZATION OF HIS YOUNG

DAUGHTER FOR A SEIZURE

DISORDER, AND THE PRAYERS OF

HIS WIFE FOR A TURN AROUND.

SHE SAID, I KNOW YOUR

SICK, AND I'M GOING TO HELP

YOU THROUGH THIS.

BUT YOU'VE GOT TO WORK.

YOU'VE GOT TO FIGHT FOR ME

AND YOU'VE GOT TO FIGHT FOR

OUR TWO KIDS.

Reporter: AND FIGHT HE

DID.

BRIAN JOINED A 12-STEP

PROGRAM, RETURNED TO CHURCH,

AND BEGAN TO READ THE BIBLE

AGAIN.

WHAT IS COOL IS OUR GOD

IS A GOD OF SECOND CHANCES.

I GREW UP IN CHURCH, BUT I

DON'T THINK I REALLY

UNDERSTOOD THE MEANING OF

GRACE UNTIL I WAS IN MY

30s.

I KNOW GOD HAS HIS PLAN FOR

ME, AND ALL I CAN DO IS DO

MY BEST EVERY DAY TO, YOU

KNOW, LIVE FOR HIM.

HE IS A BETTER FATHER TO

OUR FAMILY, AND DEFINITELY

HANDS-DOWN BETTER HUSBAND.

BRIAN PRESLEY, CLEAN AND

SOBER IS REALLY SPECIAL.

Reporter: HIS LATEST

PRODUCTION, STARRING KURT

RUSSELL, WAS RELEASED IN

2012.

THE STORY PARL LI PARALLELS

BRIAN'S OWN LIFE.

GOD CAN RESURRECT

EVERYTHING.

NO MATTER WHERE YOUR

STRUGGLES ARE IN LIFE, GOD

CAN BRING YOU BACK FROM

THAT.

THE ONLY WAY I GOT BACK TO

THE SURFACE WAS WITH JESUS

PULLING THE ROPE.

Pat: GOD IS THE GOD OF

THE SECOND CHANCE.

AREN'T YOU GLAD GOD

FORGIVES.

I MEAN, IF HE DIDN'T FORGIVE

ME, I WOULD HAVE HAD A

ONE-WAY TICKET TO HELL

FOREVER.

IF HE DIDN'T FORGIVE, IF HE

DIDN'T LOOK UPON ME WITH

COMPASSION AND SAY I FORGIVE

YOU -- AND YOU SAY, LORD, I

THANK YOU THAT YOU'VE

FORGIVEN ME.

THERE IS NOT A DAY THAT GOES

BY THAT I DON'T PLEAD THE

BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.

WE ALL NEED IT, BUT SOME OF

US NEED IT MORE.

AND CURT KNEW WHAT IT WAS

LIKE.

BUT THAT'S WHAT DISPAIR WILL

DO TO YOU.

YOU SEE, YOU ADOPT THE

WORLD'S STANDARDS.

THE WORLD SAYS, LOOK, I'M

GOING TO GIVE YOU A LOT OF

MONEY.

YOU CAN HAVE A BIG HOUSE.

YOU CAN HAVE SOME PRETTY

BLING.

YOU CAN HAVE A NICE BIG

CAR.

YOU CAN HAVE VACATIONS ON

THE RIVIERA, AND YOU CAN ALL

OF THIS STUFF, BUT IT'S

GOING TO COST YOU.

AND THE PRICE IS YOUR SOUL.

THAT WAS THE BARGAIN THE

DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER --

REMEMBER THE DEVIL TOOK THAT

MAN'S SOUL IN EXCHANGE FOR

FAME, FORTUNE, AND ALL OF

THAT.

THAT'S THE BARGAIN PEOPLE

MAKE IN HOLLYWOOD AND OTHER

PLACES.

NEW YORK OR OMAHA,

NEBRASKA -- IT DOESN'T

MATTER WHERE YOU ARE.

IF YOU'VE MADE THAT BARGAIN,

IT'S A BAD ONE.

WHAT CAN A MAN GIVE IN

EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL?

ONCE IT IS GONE, THERE IS

NOTHING YOU CAN GIVE IN

EXCHANGE FOR IT.

THE ONLY PAYMENT WAS JESUS'

DEATH ON THE CROSS.

AND WHAT HE SAYS TO YOU

RIGHT NOW IS I WILL GIVE YOU

A SECOND CHANCE.

BUT YOU'VE GOT TO CLAIM IT.

AND TODAY I URGE YOU TO SAY

YES TO JESUS CHRIST.

JUST SAY, I'M SORRY.

SAY, LORD, I DID WRONG, I'VE

SINNED AGAINST YOU.

I AM SORRY.

I ASK YOUR FORGIVENESS.

AND YOU COME TO THE LORD,

HUMBLY.

AND A BROKEN AND CONTRITE

HEART, HE WILL NOT DESPISE.

SO BOW YOUR HEAD RIDE RIGHT

NOW, PRAY THESE WORDS.

FATHER, I COME TO YOU AS A

SINNER.

YOU KNOW WHAT I'VE DONE TO

MYSELF, YOU KNOW WHAT I'VE

DONE TO OTHERS.

YOU KNOW HOW I'VE GONE FAR

AWAY FROM THAT WHEN I KNOW

IS RIGHT, AND I ASK, FATHER,

THAT YOU WILL FORGIVE ME,

THAT YOU WILL CLEANSE ME,

THAT YOU WILL RESTORE ME.

I TAKE YOUR FORGIVENESS AND

I TAKE A SECOND CHANCE.

FROM THIS MOMENT ON, LORD, I

AM YOURS.

TAKE ME, LORD.

FILL ME WITH YOUR POWER.

WASH ME IN THE BLOOD OF

JESUS CHRIST.

THANK YOU.

AMEN.

IF YOU PRAYED WITH ME --

IT'S SUCH AN IMPORTANT

PRAYER.

BUT I WANT TO YOU TO

SOLIDIFY.

SOLIDIFY IT.

WE HAVE FOLKS ON THE

TELEPHONE.

I JUST WANT YOU TO TELL

THEM.

IF YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR

NAME, THAT'S FINE.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GIVE

YOUR NAME, THAT'S FINE.

IF YOU'D LIKE, I HAVE

SOMETHING I'D LIKE TO SEND

YOU.

IT IS A LITTLE PACKET OF

MATERIAL CALLED, "A NEW

DAY."

I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU FREE.

IF YOU WANT "A NEW DAY."

PLEASE CALL RIGHT NOW,

1-800-759-0700 AND SAY I

PRAYED WITH PAT.

I'VE GOT A SECOND CHANCE.

TERRY?

Terry: WELL, STILL

AHEAD, THINK YOUR HOUSE IS

CRAMPED?

WE'LL SHOW YOU ONE MAN WHO

IS RAISING TWO DOZEN KIDS IN

A TINY APARTMENT.

FIND OUT HOW HE DID IT.

THAT'S NEXT.

Terry: THE PEOPLE OF

SIERRA LEONE ARE AMONG THE

POOREST IN THE WORLD.

AND FOR ORPHANS THERE, LIFE

IS ESPECIALLY HARD.

HERE IN THIS SEA SIDE

VILLAGE OF SIERRA LEONE,

MOST FAMILIES FISH FOR A

LIVING.

WE MET A YOUNG GIRL NAMED

AGNES WHO'S FATHER WAS A

FISHERMAN.

BUT JUST AS SOON AS SHE WAS

BORN, AGNES HAD ALMOST INTO

FAMILY AT ALL.

AGNES' MOTHER DIED WHEN SHE

WAS BORN, AND HER FATHER

COULDN'T TAKE CARE OF HER.

SO SHE WAS LEFT WITH HER

GRANDMOTHER.

IT WAS NOT REALLY TOO

EASY FOR ME.

IT WAS DIFFICULT.

Reporter: PASTOR JACOB

AND HIS WIFE, SATU, WANTED

TO TAKE AGNES IN, BUT THEY

WERE ALREADY RAISING TWO

DOZEN CHILDREN IN A SMALL

APARTMENT.

THEY DIDN'T HAVE ROOM FOR

AGNES TO LIVE THERE, SO

AGNES SPENT PART OF EACH DAY

PLAYING WITH THE OTHER

CHILDREN.

BUT AT THE END OF EVERY DAY,

SHE HAD TO LEAVE.

WHEN "ORPHAN'S PROMISE"

HEARD ABOUT PASTOR JACOB

TAKING CARE OF SO MANY

CHILDREN IN SUCH A SMALL

SPACE, WE BUILT THEM A BRAND

NEW HOME.

THE CHILDREN HAVE BIG ROOMS

AND THEIR OWN BEDS HERE.

AND NOW AGNES CAN LIVE WITH

ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE

BECOME HER FAMILY.

THROUGH YOUR HELP AND

SUPPORT, THESE CHILDREN HAVE

A DECENT HOME, GOOD FOOD TO

EAT, AND PLACES WHERE THEY

CAN STUDY AND LOOK FORWARD

TO A GREAT FUTURE.

Terry: THIS IS A GREAT

PLACE.

SESIERRA LEONE IS REALLY A

COUNTRY THAT STRUGGLES IN

MANY WAYS ECONOMICALLY, BUT

PASTOR JACOB, WHO RUNS THAT

PLACE, THAT HOME -- IT IS

NOW HIS HOME -- AND ALL OF

THESE CHILDREN HAVE BEDS AND

MATTRESSES AND DESKS TO

STUDY AT.

AND THEY'RE WATCHING

"SUPERBOOK" ON A WONDERFUL

TV.

Pat: WHAT TOWN?

Terry: LUNGA, SIERRA

LEONE.

AND WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF

TRYING TO BUILD A SCHOOL

THERE.

BECAUSE SO MANY OF THESE

KIDS DON'T HAVE THE OPTION

TO GO TO SCHOOL.

IN A LOT OF CULTURES, YOU

HAVE TO HAVE A UNIFORM AND

YOU HAVE TO HAVE BOOKS, AND

YOIF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THOSE

THINGS, YOU CAN'T GO.

Pat: THAT PLACE WAS

REALLY TORN APART.

Terry: THE STRUCTURE

WAS SUFFERING THERE.

Pat: HOW DID YOU FIND

OUT ABOUT IT?

Terry: WE USUALLY

PARTNER WITH AN EXISTING

MINISTRY.

THERE IS AN AMERICAN CHURCH

ALSO INVOLVED IN THAT.

THAT PASTOR SORT OF LET US

KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON

THERE.

WE MET PASTOR JACOB, AND WE

FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM.

LOVE THE HEART HE HAS TO

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE

LIVES OF THESE KIDS.

I WANT TO SAY TO YOU WHO

JUST WATCHED THAT STORY, YOU

CAN BE A PART OF HELPING THE

LIVES OF PEOPLE IN SIERRA

LEONE AND OTHER COUNTRIES

AROUND THE WORLD.

JOIN "700 CLUB."

WE'RE A PART OF THE MINISTRY

OF CBN REACHING OUT TO THE

WORLD.

65 CENTS A DAY, $20 A MONTH

MAKES YOU A WORLD CHANGER.

JOIN WITH THE REST OF US.

WE'RE OUT TO MAKE A

DIFFERENCE.

AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO STOP

UNTIL WE KNOW VE WERE.

THERE IS OUR NUMBER -- IT'S

TOLL-FREE, 1-800-759-0700.

AND WE WANT TO SEND YOU THLG

W THINK WILL MAKE A

DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE.

IT IS PATS THREE KEY

BLESSINGS.

YOU NEED TO GET A HOLD OF

THIS --

Pat: HOW MANY OF PHANS

ARE -- ORPHANS ARE YOU

SERVING?

Terry: I DON'T NOW

BECAUSE WE HAVE --

Pat: WOULD YOU SAY AT

LEAST 50,000?

I THINK SO.

GOD SAYS, I WILL NOT LEAVE

YOU AS ORPHANS.

I WILL COME TO YOU.

HE SPOKE THAT TO HIS

FOLLOWERS, BUT HE IS USING

ALL OF US TO --

Pat: THAT'S BEAUTIFUL.

I THINK IT IS SO LOVELY.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THAT

IS SOMETHING YOU CAN HELP

WITH WHEN YOU ADMINISTER TO

CBN.

AND TERRY HAS TAKEN THIS AND

DONE SO WELL.

I'M SO PROUD OF YOU.

YOU'RE GREAT.

Terry: THANK YOU.

I'M RUNNING TO KEEP UP WITH

THE LORD.

Pat: I BELIEVE THAT.

FOLKS, UP NEXT, WE'RE GOING

TO ANSWER YOUR E-MAIL

QUESTIONS.

JOE SAYS THIS, "I GAVE MY

COCKATOO PARROT TO SELL ON

CONSIGNMENT.

SHE DISAPPEARED WITH MY

MONEY.

I WAS ABLE TO TRACK HER

DOWN.

NOW THAT I FOUND HER, WOULD

IT BE WRONG FOR ME TO SUE?"

THE CASE OF THE MISSING

COCKATOO.

*

Terry: WE WANT TO TAKE

THE LAST FEW MINUTES THAT WE

HAVE TO ANSWER SOME OF YOUR

E-MAIL QUESTIONS.

Pat: AND WE'RE GOING TO

TALK ABOUT THE CASE OF THE

COCKATOO.

Terry: TAKE NOTES.

YOU'RE GOING TO WANT TO KNOW

THE ANSWER TO THIS.

JOE SAYS, "I GAVE MY

COCKATOO PARENT TO A LADY ON

CONSIGNMENT TO SELL FOR ME

BACK IN 2002.

AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS I TRIED

TO CALL HER, BUT HER PHONE

NUMBER WAS DISCONNECTED.

I GOT LUCKY AND GOT HER NEW

NUMBER, AND HER FIRST WORDS

WERE, HOW DID YOU GET THIS

NUMBER.

I FORGAVE HER FOR STEALING

MY $700 BIRD.

WOULD IT BE WRONG IF I SUED

HER FOR PAYMENT?"

Pat: JOE, GIVE IT A

REST.

SHE'S GOT THE BIRD, AND

SHE'S GIVING YOU THE BIRD.

SO JUST TAKE IT, DO YOU KNOW

WHAT I'M SAYING.

[LAUGHTER]

Terry: OH, MERCY.

I MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING

TERRIBLE AS A CHILD.

Pat: HOW DID I GET YOU

INTO THIS?

Terry: I DON'T KNOW.

SHE SAYS, "MY HUSBAND AND I

ARE ON THE VIRGE OF

DIVORCE.

HE WANTS THE DIVORCE.

I DON'T.

TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO SAVE

MY MARRIAGE HAS BECOME ALL

CONSUMING.

I KNOW I'M SUPPOSED TO PUT

GOD FIRST IN ALL THINGS.

HOW CAN I DO THAT WHEN MY

EVERY WAKING THOUGHT IS

ABOUT OUR PROBLEMS AND HOW

TO FIX THEM.

WHEN I PRAY, I THANK GOD FOR

ALL THINGS, BUT MY PRAYERS

ALWAYS TURN TOWARDS MY

MARRIAGE."

Pat: YOU KNOW

SOMETHING, YOU'VE GOT THE

ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IN

WHAT YOU SAID.

UNLESS YOU TURN THAT THING

OVER TO THE LORD, HE'S NOT

GOING TO FIX IT FOR YOU.

SO YOU TURN IT OVER TO HIM.

I REMEMBER A LONG TIME AGO,

WHEN MY OLDEST SON WAS

BURNING UP WITH A FEVER.

I FEARED BRAIN DAMAGE.

HE WAS, LIKE, COMATOSE, AND

IT WAS A TERRIBLE MOMENT.

AND I WAS BEGGING GOD TO DO

SOMETHING, BEGGING HIM.

AND SUDDENLY THE LORD SAID,

YOU KNOW, DON'T YOU REALIZE

I LOVE THAT CHILD A THOUSAND

TIMES MORE THAN YOU DO.

AND AT THAT MOMENT, I

CONSCIOUSLY SURRENDERED HIM

INTO THE LOVE OF GOD, AND

BANG --

Terry: THE FEVER

BROKE.

IT IS ALL ABOUT SURRENDER.

Pat: INSTANT.

BUT YOU'VE GOT TO SURRENDER

YOUR MARRIAGE.

GIVE IT TO THE LORD AND TAKE

YOUR HAND OFF OF IT AND GET

ON WITH LIFE.

AS LONG AS YOU HOLD IT, GOD

WILL SAY, OKAY, YOU FIX IT.

GIVE IT TO HIM.

Terry: ANGELA SAYS,

"I'M A 45-YEAR-OLD DIVORCED

CHRISTIAN WOMAN WITH NO

CHILDREN.

I'VE BEEN DIVORCED FOR ABOUT

SEVEN YEARS, AND I HAVE NOT

BEEN ON A DATE SINCE THEN.

I HANG OUT WITH MY MOM.

I REFUSE TO USE ON-LINE

DATING SERVICES.

I WOULD LOVE TO GO OUT ON A

DATE, BUT SOMETIMES I FEEL

LIKE I'M TOO OLD AND NOT

ATTRACTIVE TO ANYONE.

I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE THE

MISTAKE OF MARRYING THE

WRONG MAN AGAIN.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?"

Pat: TURN IT OVER TO

THE LORD.

YOU THINK OF YOURSELF AS

DAMAGED GOODS.

YOU'RE NOT.

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL.

YOU'RE GOD'S CHILD.

IF HIS PLAN FOR YOU IS TO

FIND A LOVING COMPANION TO

LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH, HE'LL

SHOW IT TO YOU.

BUT STOP THINKING THAT

YOU'RE DAMAGED GOODS.

YOU'RE NOT.

BUT YOU'VE GOT TO GET OUT.

BE HAPPY AND ACT HAPPY.

AS LONG AS YOUR FEELING

SORRY AND YOU'VE, YOU KNOW,

PULLED THE BLINDS AND YOU'RE

LIVING IN DARKNESS, AND YOU

GO AROUND WITH THAT CLOUD

ALL OVER YOU -- BRIGHTEN

UP.

OPEN UP TO THE SUNSHINE.

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL IN GOD'S

EYES.

THAT'S ALL THE TIME WE HAVE

FOR THIS PROGRAM.

TOMORROW WE'LL TELL YOU

ABOUT AN EXTREMIST GROUP

THAT IS GAINING STRENGTH IN

GERMANY.

IT AIMS TO CONQUER THE

WORLD.

WELL, MAYBE.

WE LEAVE YOU WITH THESE

WORDS FROM PSALMS: "AS FOR

GOD, HIS WAY IS PERFECT.

THE WORD OF THE LORD HAS

PROVEN HE IS A TO SHIELD TO

ALL WHO TRUST IN HIM."

BYE-BYE.
