Pat: WELL, DESPITE THE

WEATHER AND DESPITE THE

ELECTION, PEOPLE STILL WANT

TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO

HAPPEN WHEN THEY DIE.

AND WE'RE GOING TO BE

TALKING ABOUT THE ULTIMATE,

THE FINAL DESTINATION, WHAT

IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU

WHEN YOU DIE?

WE HAVE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY

HAVE BEEN TO HELL, ACTUALLY

HAVE BEEN TO HEAVEN, AND

THEY HAVE COME BACK TO TELL

US ABOUT ITMENT YOU DON'T

WANT TO MISS THESE

TESTIMONIES.

BUT WE START OUT THE PROGRAM

TALKING ABOUT ONE OF THE

LARGEST STORMS EVER TO

STRIKE UNITED STATES.

HURRICANE SANDY HAS LEFT

EVERYWHERE, FROM THE MID

ATLANTIC TO NEW ENGLAND TO

THE MIDWEST.

ESTABLISHMENT

Terry: AND IT SHUT DOWN

ONE OF THE BIGGEST CITYS IN

THE U.S., NEW YORK.

Reporter: SANDY MADE

LANDFALL MONDAY NIGHT,

DELIVERING A DIRECT HIT TO

THE NEW JERSEY COAST.

THE MASSIVE FLOODING AND 80

MILE-AN-HOUR WINDS LEFT

ENTIRE AREAS OF THE

COASTLINE UNDER WATER.

CHRIS CHRISTIE ENCOURAGED

THOSE TO STAY IN THEIR

HOME.

NEW YORK CITY WAS HIT BY A

13-FOOT STORM SURGE, TURNING

THE CITY'S STREETS INTO

RIVERS.

Mayor: THE WORST OF THE

WEATHER HAS COME, AND THE

CITY IS CERTAINLY FEELING

THE IMPACTS.

WE HAVE SEEN RECORD SURGE

LEVELS.

WE'RE SEEING AN

EXTRAORDINARY AMOUNT OF

WATER THROUGHOUT LOWER

MANHATTAN.

Reporter: AMONG THE

AREAS UNDER WATER, THE

FINANCIAL DISTRICT.

TODAY THE STOCK MARKET WILL

REMAIN CLOSED FOR A SECOND

DAY IN A ROW, SOMETHING THAT

HASN'T HAPPENED DUE TO THE

WEATHER SINCE 1888.

IN THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM,

A NEW YORK CITY HOSPITAL HAD

TO EVACUATE MORE THAN 200

PATIENTS, AFTER ITS BACKUP

GENERATOR FAILED.

IN QUEENS, A FIRE DESTROYED

AT LEAST 50 HOMES IN THE

BREEZY POINT NEIGHBORHOOD.

FIREFIGHTERS HAD DIFFICULTY

ENTERING THE AREA DUE TO

FLOODING.

MANY FIRE HYDRANTS WERE

COMPLETELY UNDER WATER.

NEARLY 200 FIREFIGHTERS

BATTLED THE SIX-ALARM

BLAZE.

FURTHER SOUTH, A U.S. COAST

GUARD TEAM RESCUED 14 CREW

MEMBERS FROM A SHIP THAT

SUNK.

SANDY CAUSED SNOWSTORMS IN

VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA,

NORTH CARL CAR, AND

TENNESSEE.

SOME AREAS EXPERIENCING

BLIZZARD WARNINGS.

THE STORM IS WORKING ITS WAY

ACROSS PENNSYLVANIA AND

UPSTATE NEW YORK.

CBN'S "OPERATION BLESSING"

HAS BEEN WATCHING THE STORM

AND MAKING PREPARATIONS TO

BRING HELP TO THOSE WHO NEED

IT MOST.

WE, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN

AMERICA, IS WATCHING THE

WEATHER CHANNEL, WATCHING

THE TV, WAITING TO SEE JUST

WHAT THIS STORM IS GOING TO

DO.

WHATEVER IT DOES, WE'LL BE

RESPONDING TO IT.

NO DOUBT, WE'LL BE ON THE

SCENE WITHIN 24 HOURS

WHEREVER IT DOES COME ASHORE

OR WHEREVER IT IS NEEDED

MOST.

Reporter: EPHRAIM

GRAHAM, CBN NEWS.

Pat:

"OPERATION BLESSING" IS

UNDER WAY.

IT'S GOTTEN BLANKETS AND

MEDICINE AND FOOD STORED UP,

AND WE'LL BE RUSHING.

BUT IT IS HARD TO KNOW WHEN

THE ROADS ARE IMPASSEABLE.

I'M SURE THE FLOODWATERS

WILL RECEDE, AS THEY DID IN

THE GREAT FLOOD, BUT THIS IS

A MASSIVE, MASSIVE STORM.

AS I SAID EARLIER, IT WAS AN

ESTIMATE THAT WE WOULD HAVE

AS MUCH AS $100 BILLION IN

DAMAGE.

I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS GOING

TO REACH THAT MUCH, BUT THE

CONSEQUENCES, WHEN YOU

CONSIDER WHAT IS GOING ON

ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE

COUNTRY.

AND THE OTHER THING IS THE

AFFECT OF THE ELECTION.

HAD IS STILL INDETERMINANT

BECAUSE WE'RE JUST A FEW

DAYS AWAY FROM THE

ELECTION.

TERRY --

Terry: EARLIER, THEY

WERE TALKING ABOUT

$100 BILLION TO $200 BILLION

OF DAMAGE.

Pat: REALLY?

THAT MUCH?

Terry: YEAH.

I HOPE THEY'RE NOT ACCURATE

ON THAT.

Pat: IT SHOWS HOW

TECHNOLOGICAL SPEA SUPERIOR

WE ARE, WE CAN RALLY

TOGETHER AS A NATION AND

SURVIVE THESE THINGS, BUT,

AT THE SAME TIME, IT IS A

BODY BLOW TO OUR ECONOMY.

THEY KEEP COMING TO US.

MAYBE WE'LL HEED SOME

WARNINGS AND CONTINUE TO

PRAY.

WE HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR

PEOPLE IN THE FLOOD, BUT TO

BE IN COLD WATER AND NOT

HAVE POWER, NOT HAVE WATER,

AND NOT HAVE ANY KIND OF

ELECTRICITY, IT IS VERY,

VERY SERIOUS.

"OPERATION BLESSING" WILL BE

THERE WITH GENERATORS AND

ALL OF THE THINGS WE CAN GET

ON THE SCENE IN WHATEVER

PART OF THE COUNTRY IS

HURTING BECAUSE IT IS NOW

OVER A WIDE, WIDE SWATH OF

LAND.

LEE WEBB HAS MORE ON SANDY'S

IMPACT ON MILLIONS OF PEOPLE

ON THE EAST COAST.

LEE?

Lee: THAT'S RIGHT,

PAT.

THE STORM LEFT FOUR MILLION

WITHOUT POWER IN NEW YORK

AND NEW JERSEY, AND FLOODED

KEY PARTS OF NEW YORK CITY.

CHARLENE ISRAEL WAS THERE AS

SANDY CAME ASHORE.

Reporter: THOUSANDS

HERE IN THE GARDEN STATE ARE

WAKING UP THIS MORNING TO

THE AFTERMATH OF THE LARGEST

ATLANTIC STORM EVER.

COSTUMERS WHO WERE STAYING

AT THIS COMFORT INN RIGHT

BEHIND ME HAD TO BE RESCUED

LAST NIGHT ON LIFE RAFTS.

SANDY ARRIVED HOURS SOONER

THAN FORECASTERS EXPECTED.

THOUSANDS EVACUATED THE

STATE AS MASSIVE FLOODING

FROM THE HUDSON RIVER

THREATENED THIS HOSPITAL AND

GAS PIPELINE.

THE WINDS ARE WHIPPING AT

ABOUT 45 MILE-AN-HOUR IN

EDGEWATER, NEW JERSEY, AND

THE

HUDSON RIVER BEHIND ME

IS QUICKLY RISING.

IN NEW YORK, STREETS SAT

EMPTY AS SANDY BARRELED

TOWARDS THE CITY.

EMERGENCY OFFICIALS ORDERED

THOUSANDS OUT OF LOW-LYING

AREAS.

IT TURNED UP THE ATLANTIC

COAST WITH REENTLESS RAIN.

HEAVY WINDS TOPPLED THIS

CRANE THAT WAS LEFT HANGING

90 STORIES ON A HIGHRISE IN

NEW YORK CITY, AND APARTMENT

BUILDING WAS SEVERELY

DAMAGED.

THE STORM ALSO CAUSED A HUGE

EXPLOSION OF THE 14th

STREET CON EDISON POWER

PLANTER.

AND THE POWER AUTHORITY

TWEETED THIS PHOTO OF

FLOODWATERS RUSHING INTO THE

HOHOBOKEN TRAIN STATION.

THE POWER OUTAGES.

YOU JUST HAVE TOO BIG A WIND

FIELD WI WITH THIS, AND,

YOU KNOW, NEW JERSEY, P.A.,

SOUTHERN NEW YORK, A LOT OF

LEAVES ON THE TREES, EVEN

HERE IN NEW YORK CITY.

SO I THINK THAT THE DURATION

OF THE WIND WILL TAKE ITS

TOLL ON THAT.

Reporter: STORM SURGE

IS ANOTHER THREAT, IS SURE

TO AFFECT THE CITY'S NEARLY

50,000 HOMELESS POPULATION.

I DON'T KNOW.

IT'S GOING TO BE A REALLY

LONG, ROUGH NIGHT.

ACTUALLY, PROBABLY A DAY AND

A HALF.

I'M NOT SURE HOW YOU SURVIVE

OUT IN THIS SCENE.

IT IS GOING TO BE WET, COLD,

AND WINDY.

AND THERE IS DANGER OF

FLOOD, EVEN IN THE CITY

HERE.

Reporter: MEANWHILE,

MANY WILL FEEL THE FURY FROM

SANDY FOR QUITE SOMETIME.

COASTAL FLOODWATERS REMAIN

IN EFFECT UNTIL LATER

TODAY.

REPORTING IN EDGEWATER, NEW

JERSEY, CHARLENE ISRAEL, CBN

NEWS.

Lee: AND SANDY HIT THE

NATION'S COAST.

IT LEFT A HALF MILLION

WITHOUT POWER THERE.

JENNIFER WISHON HAS THAT

STORY FROM D.C.

Reporter: SANDY WAS NO

LADY AS SHE ROARED INTO THE

NATION'S CAPITAL.

DROPPING A STUDY RAIN THAT

WAS AT TIMES BLINDING, AND

WHIPPING UP WIND GUSTS,

TOPPING 75 MILES PER HOUR.

DRIVE THE STEET STREETS OF

WASHINGTON, AND YOU'LL FIND

STREETS ON THE STREETS,

LISTEN, AND YOU'LL

UNDERSTAND WHY.

DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE

STORM, CITY STREETS WERE

DESERTED, GIVING EMERGENCY

OFFICIALS ROOM TO WORK.

THIS CALL WAS A FALSE

ALARM.

FOR A SECOND DAY, THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS SHUT

DOWN.

AND THE CITY'S METRO SYSTEM

WON'T ACCEPT PASSENGERS

UNTIL CREWS HAVE ASSESSED

ANY DAMAGE.

WELL, IT IS NOT AS

INTENSE AS I THOUGHT IT

WOULD BE HERE.

OBVIOUSLY, IN NEW YORK

AND FURTHER UP NORTH, IT

LOOKS A LOT WORSE.

BUT HERE, ANYWAYS, IS

MANAGEABLE.

Reporter: BUT FOR THE

THOUSANDS WITHOUT POWER, AND

THE OWNERS OF THIS VIRGINIA

HOME, SANDY IS BAD ENOUGH.

THIS IS A SCENE THAT

REPEATED ITSELF IN THE

SUBURBS OF VIRGINIA AND

MARYLAND.

SATURATED GROUND MADE

UPROOTING TREES ALL TOO

EASY.

AS THE WINDS DIE DOWN, POWER

CREWS WILL GET OUT AND TAKE

A LOOK AT THE DAMAGE.

CREWS AS FAR AWAY AS

WASHINGTON STATE STAND BY.

THESE

GEORGETOWN BUSINESSES

ARE READY WITH SANDBAGS.

ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT

THREATENING ITS PROPERTY

YET, BUT

THE PA PATOMAC

RIVER COULD HAVE ITS WORST

FLOODING.

Lee: PAT, AS YOU

MENTIONED, IT SEEMS THE MID

ATLANTIC SURVIVED THIS STORM

FAIRLY WELL.

IT WILL BE A COUPLE OF DAYS

BEFORE THE NORTHEAST --

UNTIL WE FIND OUT HOW THEY

FARED.

Pat: IT IS WISE TO SHUT

THE SUBWAYS DOWN BECAUSE

THOSE HAVE ELECTRIC POWER,

THE SO-CALLED THIRD RAIL,

AND THEY RUN ON ELECTROFIED

POWER ON THOSE RAILS.

YOU GET THOSE FLOODS, AND

ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU'VE

BURNED OUT ALL KINDS OF

GENERATORS AND MOTORS IN

SUBWAYS, AND IT WOULD BE

MONTHS BEFORE THEY COULD GET

IT STARTED.

MAYOR BLOOMBERG WAS VERY

WISE TO PULL THE POWER OFF

AND SAY EVERYBODY HAS GOT TO

WALK FOR A WHILE, SO THEY

CAN HAVE SUBWAY SERVICE

RESTORED.

IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST A WEEK

OR MORE.

WITH THE ELECTION COMING

UP -- WHEW!

NEXT TUESDAY.

Terry: HARD TO

BELIEVE.

Pat: WE'VE GOT PEOPLE

WHO SAY LET'S PRAY.

I THINK THAT WE HERE --

USUALLY WE'RE IN THE APEX OF

HURRICANES.

THIS IS HURRICANE ALLEY

WHERE WE LIVE, AND VIRGINIA

BEACH AND NORFOLK HAVE BEEN

HIT BY HURRICANES OVER AND

OVER AGAIN.

THIS TIME THE HURRICANE WAS

STRONG, AND THERE WAS A LOT

OF WIND AND RAIN, BUT

NOTHING APPROACHING WHAT

HAPPENED UP NORTH OF US.

WE WANT TO PRAY FOR THEM,

AND WHEREVER YOU LIVE, HAVE

COMPASSION.

AND SOME ARE SAYING I WANT

TO PRAY FOR OUR ECONOMY TO

BE REBOUND, AND JOBS TO BE

CREATED AND OUR NATION TO

PROSPER.

WELL, WE WANT TO DO THAT.

WE'LL PRAY RIGHT NOW.

FATHER, TERRY AND I JOIN

TOGETHER.

WE PRAY FOR THESE WHO ARE

WITHOUT POWER.

WE PRAY FOR THESE WHO ARE

COLD, THESE WHO DON'T HAVE

ADEQUATE WATER, THESE WHO

DON'T HAVE FOOD.

WE PRAY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE

SUFFERED LOSS.

AND WE PRAY, OH, GOD, THAT

THIS NATION THAT YOU MIGHT

BLESS IT.

BRING US TO THE POINT, LORD,

WHERE WE WILL BE SUITABLE

FOR YOUR BLESSING.

BECAUSE WE WANT TO BE A

NATION BLESSED BY GOD.

UNITE TOGETHER.

UNITE AS ONE PEOPLE.

LORD, WE THANK YOU FOR

THESE, THE FIREFIGHTERS, THE

POLICE, THE FIRST RESPONDERS

OF VARIOUS NATURE, WHO HAVE

BEEN OUT TIRELESSLY WORKING

TO BRING THIS SOCIETY BACK

TO A NORMAL LEVEL.

THANK YOU, LORD, FOR THEM.

GIVE THEM STRENGTH AND

BLESSING IN JESUS' NAME.

AMEN.

Terry: AMEN.

ISLAM IS MAKING IN ROADS IN

HAITI, A COUNTRY THAT HAS

BEEN DOMINATED BY CATHOLICS,

PROTESTS, AND EVEN VOO-DOO.

THERE ARE NOW AT LEAST FIVE

MOSQUES IN HAITI.

MANY CONVERTED AFTER THE

DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE TWO

YEARS AGO.

AND THERE IS A MUSLIM MEMBER

OF PARLIAMENT AND A NIGHTLY

TV PROGRAM DEVOTED TO

ISLAM.

THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT

RECOGNIZE ISLAM AS AN

OFFICIAL RELIGION, NOR DOES

IT HONOR MUSLIM MARRIAGES.

SEVEN PEOPLE ARE DEAD

FOLLOWING A CHURCH BOMBING

IN NORTHERN NIGERIA.

POLICE SAY A SUICIDE BOMBER

RAN AN S.U.V. FILLED WITH

EXPLOSIVES INTO A CATHOLIC

CHURCH DURING MASS SUNDAY.

AT LEAST 100 OTHERS WERE

INJURED.

SUNDAY'S BOMBING IS THE

LATEST IN THE SERIES OF A

ATTACKS ON NIGERIAN

CHURCHES.

NO GROUP HAS CLAIMED

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE

ATTACK, BUT BOKO HARAM HAS

ATTACKED SEVERAL NIGERIAN

CHURCHES THIS YEAR, KILLING

HUNDREDS.
