Wendy: TONIGHT ON

"NEWSWATCH," COMMUNITY IN

CRISIS.

CBN NEWS HAS BEEN IN THE

TOWN OF MOORE, OKLAHOMA, AS

RESIDENTS PICK UP THE

PIECES.

PLUS THE DEBATE OVER

IMMIGRATION.

MORE ON THE MEASURE THAT

PASSED ITS FIRST BIG TEST IN

THE SENATE.

AND MEET THE MAN WHO IS

GIVING THESE GYPSIES A

REASON FOR HOPE.

ALL OF THIS AND MUCH MORE

TONIGHT'S ON "NEWSWATCH."

PEOPLE IN MOORE, OKLAHOMA,

ARE STARTING TO CLEAN UP AND

REBUILD.

GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE, I'M

WENDY GRIFFITH.

THAT AFTER THE POWERFUL

TORNADO ROARED THROUGH THE

TOWN MONDAY, DESTROYING

ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOODS, BUT AS

JOHN JESSUP REPORTS IN

TONIGHT'S TOP STORY, THERE

ARE ALREADY SIGNS OF

RECOVERY.

Reporter: IT'S BEEN TWO

DAYS SINCE THE TWISTER

TURNED THE CITY OF MOORE UP

SIDE DOWN.

EMOTIONS STILL RUN HIGH.

I BALLED ALL MORE THAN.

I WAS GOOD YESTERDAY, AND I

BALLED OFF MORNING.

Reporter: THE

DESTRUCTION FROM THE F-5

TORNADO PROVED MORE COSTLY

THAN JUST HOMES AND

BUILDINGS.

HOW ARE YOUR NEIGHBORS?

SOME DIDN'T MAG IT. DIDN'T MAKE IT, ANDSOME

ARE IN THE HOSPITAL.

Reporter: PEOPLE LIKE

BETH RETURNED TO THEIR

HOMES, SIFTING THROUGH

RUBBLE, SEARCHING FOR

ANYTHING THEY CAN SALVAGE.

THE SEARCH WAS MADE MORE

DIFFICULT BECAUSE NOT

EVERYTHING IN BETH'S HOME

BELONGS TO HER, LIKE THE

JEEP SITTING IN WHAT USED TO

BE HER LIVING ROOM.

Reporter: THAT IS NOT

EVEN YOUR CAR?

UH-UH.

THAT ONE IS

Reporter: WHAT ABOUT

THE BLUE ONE?

THAT ONE IS MINE.

Reporter: SHE WAS

CONCERNED AFTER THE STORM

CLEARED, WHETHER SHE WOULD

BE ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT

ALIVE.

I PRAYED, GIVE ME THE

STRENGTH TO GET OUT OF

HERE.

SHE SAID SHE WAS PUSHING AND

PUSHING AND PUSHING, AND SHE

GOT IT OPEN JUST ENOUGH TO

BARELY CRAWL OUT.

Reporter: EMERGENCY

CREWS HAVE CHECKED DAMAGED

PROPERTY AT LEAST THREE

TIMES.

WITH EACH PASSING DAY, THE

HUNT FOR POSSIBLE SURVIVORS

GROWS DIM, BUT, STILL, THERE

ARE STORIES OF HOPE.

THIS IS BRIARWOOD

ELEMENTARY, ONE OF THE TWO

SCHOOLS IN MOORE THAT TOOK A

DIRECT HIT.

WHILE THE SCHOOL IS

DEMOLISHED, RESIDENTS SAYS

AMAZINGLY, ALL OF THE

STUDENTS WHO WERE INSIDE

MADE IT OUT ALIVE.

THIS COMMUNITY SHARES IN

GRIEF ONCE AGAIN, BUT THEY

ARE BOUND BY THEIR

UNWAVERING SPIRIT TO

OVERCOME.

I LOVE AMERICA, AND WE'RE

GOING TO SURVIVE THIS, AND

WE'RE STRONG.

Reporter: JOHN JESSUP,

CBN NEWS, MOORE, OKLAHOMA.

Wendy: AMAZING

SPIRITS.

THE FIRST ESTIMATES OF THE

DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE TORNADO

ARE COMING IN.

THE OKLAHOMA INSURANCE

DEPARTMENT SAYS THE

FINANCIAL COSTS COULD TOP

$2 BILLION.

MORE THAN 12,000 HOMES WERE

AFFECTED BY THE TORNADO.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

SAYS THE STORM THAT HIT

MOORE WAS AT THE TOP OF THE

SCALE, EF15 TWISTER, WITH

WINDS OVER 200

MILE-AN-HOUR.

IT CUT A PATH 17 MILES LONG

AND 1.3 MILES WIDE.

"OPERATION BLESSING" IS ON

THE SCENE IN OKLAHOMA WITH

FOOD AND SUPPLIES FOR THE

VICTIMS OF THIS DEVASTATING

TRAGEDY.

MICHELLE WILSON BRINGS US

THAT STORY.

Reporter: THE FIRST OF

"OPERATION BLESSING'S"

DISASTER RELIEF TRUCKS

ARRIVE IN MOORE, OKLAHOMA,

TUESDAY, FILLED WITH FOOD,

WATER, AND OTHER SUPPLIES.

"OPERATION BLESSING" IS ONE

OF THE FIRST RESPONDERS WITH

MUCH-NEEDED DISASTER RELIEF

FOR THOSE DIRECTLY AFFECTED

BY OKLAHOMA'S MOST DEADLY

TORNADO.

IT WAS A SIGHT.

IT WAS SOMETHING I HAD TO

TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND GAIN

MY COMPOSURE.

Reporter: THIS IS MARK

CUMMINGS, WHO TOLD US THAT

HIS HOME WAS NEARLY

DESTROYED.

MY WHOLE FENCE IS GONE

OVER THERE, YOU CAN SEE.

Reporter: HE IS

THANKFUL THAT HE AND HIS

FAMILY SURVIVED.

A LOT OF MY FRIENDS'

HOMES WERE TOTALLED.

SEEING NOTHING LEFT BY A

SLAB OR BRICKS.

Reporter:

"OPERATION BLESSING'S" PHIL

HOREN WAS ON THE SCENE TO

ASSESS.

THERE IS LOTS OF FOLKS

THAT DON'T HAVE INSURANCE,

THERE ARE ELDERLY FOLKS,

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES,

WHO DON'T HAVE ANYONE ELSE

TO HELP THEM.

WE'RE GOING TO SEEK THOSE

PEOPLE OUT, THE MOST

VULNERABLE, THE LEAST OF

THESE, THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE

AT THE TOP OF OUR LIST.

40,000 POUNDS OF FOOD,

ITEMS, DIAPERS, JUST THINGS

WE CAN HELP THESE FAMILIES

WITH.

YOU'VE SEEN UTTER

DEVASTATION ON THE

TELEVISION, BUT THERE IS

WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES.

"OPERATION BLESSING" IS

PARTNERING WITH HIGHLAND

BAPTIST CHURCH, WHICH IS

RIGHT IN THE HEART OF THE

COMMUNITY.

IT IS WONDERFUL TO BE

ABLE TO CO-LABOR WITH

"OPERATION BLESSING."

PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST,

TO BE ABLE TO SHARE TOGETHER

AND LINK ARMS TOGETHER, AND

TO LOVE ON PEOPLE IN THE

NAME OF JESUS, WHAT HE HAS

CALLED US TO DO.

Wendy: OUTRAGE FROM

LAWMAKERS ON CAPITOL HILL,

THE OFFICIAL AT THE CENTER

OF THE I.R.S. CONTROVERSY

REFUSING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS

AT A CONGRESSIONAL HEARING.

NOW REPUBLICANS ARE

THREATENING TO RECALL HER TO

TESTIFY AGAIN.

HEATHER CELLS REPORTS.

Reporter: LOIS LEARNER,

THE HEAD OF THE I.R.S.

DIVISION THAT TARGETED

CONSERVATIVE GROUPS IS IS

TAKING THE FIFTH.

SHE CHOSE NOT TO TESTIFY AT

A CONGRESSIONAL HEARING

TODAY.

I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING

WRONG.

I'VE BEEN ADVISED BY MY

COUNSEL TO ASSERT MY

CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT NOT TO

TESTIFY.

Reporter: IN A LETTER

TO THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT

COMMITTEE, LEARNER'S

ATTORNEY SAYS HIS CLIENT

WOULDN'T TESTIFY BECAUSE OF

A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION BY

THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT.

LEARNER WAS THE FIRST PERSON

TO GO PUBLIC WITH THE I.R.S.

CONTROVERSY.

LAWMAKERS WERE FURIOUS THAT

SHE WOULD TELL HER SIDE OF

THE STORY AND THEN REFUSE TO

BE CROSS-EXAMINED.

SHE WAIVED HER RIGHT AND

SHE OUGHT TO STAND HER AND

ANSWER QUESTION.

Reporter: DARRELL ISSA

SAID SHE LIED TO CONGRESS

LAST YEAR BY NOT INFORMING

LAWMAKERS THEN THAT

CONSERVATIVE GROUPS WERE

BEING TARGETED.

CONGRESS WAS MISLED, THE

AMERICAN PEOPLE WERE

MISLED.

Reporter: THE FORMER

COMMISSIONER OF THE I.R.S.

ALSO APPEARED BEFORE

CONGRESS TODAY.

HE STRESSED THAT POLITICAL

PARTISANSHIP WAS NOT

INVOLVED.

UTILIZING A LIST WITH KEY

WORDS IS, IN MY VIEW,

INAPPROPRIATE AND DAMAGING.

Reporter: LAWMAKERS

FROM BOTH PARTIES CRITICIZED

I.R.S. OFFICIALS AT THE

HEARING.

DEMOCRATS CAUTIONED AGAINST

THE SCANDAL BECOMING

POLITICIZED.

HEATHER CELLS, CBN NEWS.

Wendy: THANKS,

HEATHER.

REPUBLICANS SAY THEY WILL

CONTINUE INVESTIGATING THE

ISSUE UNTIL THEY KNOW

EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED AT THE

I.R.S.

A SUSPECTED TERRORIST ATTACK

HAS LEFT ONE MAN DEAD IN

SOUTHEAST LONDON, TWO OTHERS

HAVE BEEN INJURED.

TWO MEN REPORTEDLY CARRIED

OUT THE ATTACK.

THE OFFICIALS ARE CALLING IT

SICKENING AND BARBARIC.

DAVID CAMERON IS CALLING AN

URGENT MEETING.

HE SAYS THERE ARE STRONG

INDICATIONS THAT THE ATTACK

IS A TERRORIST INCIDENT, AND

FOOTAGE THAT HAS EMERGED,

THE SUSPECTED ATTACKER IS

WIELDING A BLOODY MEAT

CLEAVER SAYING, QUOTE,"WE

SWEAR BY ALMIGHTY ALLAH, WE

WILL NEVER STOP FIGHTING

YOU.

THE ONLY REASON WE HAVE DONE

THIS IS BECAUSE MUSLIMS WERE

DYING EVERY DAY."

THE REPORTS SAY THE VICTIM

WAS BEHEADED RIGHT ON THE

STREET IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

U.S. INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS

ARE MONITORING FIVE MEN

SUSPECTED IN LAST YEAR'S

ATTACK ON THE CON SLATE IN

BENGHAZI, LIBYA.

THE MEN WERE IDENTIFIED BY

COMMUNICATIONS IN LIBYA.

THEY ARE THOUGHT TO BE

MEMBERS OF ANSAR ASHARIA.

MILITARY FORCE HAS NOT BEEN

USED TO DETAIN THE MEN AS

ENEMY COMBATANTS.

THE WHITE HOUSE SAYS IT

WANTS MORE EVIDENCE IN ORDER

TO TRY THE MEN IN A U.S.

COURT.

CRITICS SAY IT COMPROMISES

SECURITY.

MILLIONS OF IMMIGRANTS

LIVING ILLEGALLY IN THE

UNITED STATES COULD BE ON

THE PATH TO GAINING FULL

CITIZENSHIP.

THE SENATE PASSED SWEEPING

LEGISLATION THAT WILL ALSO,

AMONG OTHER THINGS, TIGHTEN

SECURITY ALONG OUR BORDER

WITH MEXICO.

OUR GEORGE THOMAS HAS

DETAILS IN THE BILL.

George: BY A 13-5

MARGIN --

IT PASSES!

[APPLAUSE]

George: -- THE 867 PAGE

IMMIGRATION BILL PASSED THE

SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE

LAST NIGHT.

[YELLING]

George: HERE ARE THE

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BILL:

11 MILLION ILLEGAL PEOPLE

LIVING IN THE U.S. COULD GET

WHAT IS CALLED A PROVISIONAL

IMMIGRANT STATUS, PUTTING

THEM EVENTUALLY ON THE

PATHWAY TO FULL

CITIZENSHIP.

TWO MILLION SO-CALLED

DREAMERS WHO CAME TO THE

COUNTRY ILLEGALLY WOULD GET

A GREEN CARD IN FIVE YEARS.

MORE VISAS FOR SKILLED

WORKERS IN AREAS OF SCIENCE,

TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND

MATH.

ALL OF US IMMIGRANTS ARE

ASSIGNED CITIZENS, AND THEY

WANT TO CONTRIBUTE AND THEY

WANT TO BE A PART OF THE

SYSTEM.

AND THEY WANT TO BE A PART

OF THIS SOCIETY.

George: THE BILL ALSO

CALLS FOR BEEFED UP SECURITY

ALONG THE U.S.-MEXICO

BORDER, AND FOREIGNERS

ENTERING OR LEAVING THROUGH

30 OF THE BUSIEST AIRPORTS

WILL UNDERGO

FINGERPRINTING.

WE FINGERPRINT PEOPLE

BEFORE THEY COME INTO THE

COUNTRY.

WE DON'T READ IT WHEN THEY

EXIT THE COUNTRY.

George: THERE IS A

PROGRAM IN THE LEGISLATION

THAT REQUIRES ALL EMPLOYEES

TO CONFIRM THEIR EMPLOYEES'

IMMIGRATION STATUS.

MEANWHILE ONE CONTROVERSIAL

AMENDMENT GOT PULLED AT THE

LAST MINUTE, THAT WOULD HAVE

RECOGNIZED SAME-SEX

MARRIAGES FOR IMMIGRATION

PURPOSES.

REPUBLICANS HAVE THREATENED

TO WALK AWAY IF IT WAS

INCLUDED IN THE FINAL BILL.

THERE ARE A LOT OF FOLKS

SUPPORTING THIS BILL, WHO

ARE NOT GOING TO AGREE TO

REDEFINE MARRIAGE FOR

IMMIGRATION LAW PURPOSES.

George: THREE

REPUBLICANS JOINED 10

DEMOCRATS TO SUPPORT THE

SWEEPING BILL.

NICE NEITHER REPUBLICANS OR

DEMOCRATS WILL SUPPORT EACH

AND EVERY ASPECT OF THIS

LEGISLATION, IT IS

GRATIFYING TO SEE THE

MOMENTUM BEHIND THESE

REFORMS.

George: THOSE AGAINST

THE BILL SAYS THE

LEGISLATION DOES NOTHING TO

TACKLE THE REAL PROBLEMS OF

IMMIGRATION.

IT DOESN'T STOP ILLEGAL

IMMIGRATION.

IF ANYTHING, IT MAY MAKE THE

PROBLEM WORSE BY NOT

SECURING THE BORDER AND BY

INCENTIVIZING FUTURE

IMMIGRATION.

George: GEORGE THOMAS,

CBN.

Wendy: FOR MORE ON

THIS, WE'RE JOINED BY THE

VICE PRESIDENT OF THE

HERITAGE FOUNDATION,

GENEVIEVE WOOD.

GENEVIEVE, MOST PEOPLE WOULD

AGREE SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE

DONE TO FIX THE IMMIGRATION

PROBLEMS IN AMERICA, BUT IS

THIS WHAT WE NEED?

WELL, IT IS PART OF THE

PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS SO

LARGE, TRYING TO DO

EVERYTHING AT ONE TIME.

EVERYONE AGREES,

CONSERVATIVES, REPUBLICAN,

DEMOCRAT, THAT WE NEED TO

ADDRESS IMMIGRATION REFORM.

BUT IT IS SO IMPORTANT, WE

SHOULD BE DOING IT ONE STEP

AT A TIME.

WE ALL BEGIN WITH THE THINGS

MOST PEOPLE AGREE ON, WE

NEED TO ADDRESS BORDER

SECURITY.

LET'S START THERE, GET THAT

PROBLEM ADDRESSED, AND THEN

MOVE TO STEP TWO.

Wendy: DO YOU THINK

THIS BILL WILL ACTUALLY MAKE

IT THROUGH THE FULL SENATE?

WELL, OF COURSE, THE

SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE

HAS PASSED IT OUT.

WE'LL SEE WHERE THE VOTES

GO.

BUT I THINK IT WILL HAVE

MORE TROUBLE IN THE HOUSE.

SENATORS RESPOND TO WHAT

THEY HEAR FROM THEIR

CONSTITUENTS.

IF WHAT THEY'RE HEARING IS

WE WANT YOU TO TAKE A LONGER

LOOK AT THIS, WE THINK IT

WILL COST TOO MUCH, AND WE

THINK THIS BILL PROVIDES

AMNESTY FOR THOSE HERE

ILLEGALLY, IF THEY START

HEARING FROM THEIR

CONSTITUENTS, IT COULD

CHANGE THE BALANCE OF THE

VOTES IN THE SENATE AND

PREPARING FOR THE WORK THAT

IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE

HOUSE.

Wendy: GENEVIEVE, SOME

POINT TO THIS AND SAY IT IS

AN EXAMPLE OF BIPARTISAN

COMPROMISE.

HOW DO YOU SEE IT?

I SEE IT WHERE EVERYBODY

IS TRYING TO GET THEIR PIECE

IN IT.

THAT IS THE WAY WASHINGTON

NOW TRIES TO WORK, I'LL

SCRATCH YOUR BACK IF YOU

SCRATCH MINE.

WHO LOSES IN THAT IS THE

AMERICAN PEOPLE AND THE

AMERICAN TAXPAYER.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE SUCH A

LARGE BILL, 800 SOME ODD

PAGES LONG AND HAS MULTIPLE

FACTORS AND PARTS TO IT.

WE NEED TO LOOK AT EACH

ISSUE ONE ISSUE AT A TIME.

BORDER SECURITY, AND HOW DO

WE DEAL WITH FIXING THE

IMMIGRATION BUREAUCRACY

ITSELF, HOW DO WE DEAL WITH

THOSE IN THE COUNTRY

ILLEGALLY?

LET'S TAKE ON THOSE PIECE BY

PIECE SO WE MAKE SURE WE GET

IT RIGHT, INSTEAD OF DOING

IT ALL AT ONCE, WHERE IT

ENDS UP LIKE OBAMACARE WHERE

WE LEARN WHAT IS IT IN AFTER

THE BILL HAS PASSED.

Wendy: THANK YOU,

GENEVIEVE FOR YOUR TIME

TODAY.

THANK YOU.

Wendy: COMING UP, THE

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA MEET

TO DECIDE IF GAYS SHOULD BE

BANNED FROM THE TROOPS.

Wendy: THE FEDERAL

RESERVE WILL CONTINUE WITH

ITS EFFORTS TO STIMULATE THE

U.S. ECONOMY.

CHAIRMAN BEN BERNANKE TOLD

CONGRESS TODAY THAT THE

COUNTRY'S JOB MARKET REMAINS

WEAK, AND WARNED AGAINST

ENDING THE FED'S STIMULUS

PROGRAM TOO SOON.

A PREMATURE TIGHTENING OF

MONETARY POLICY COULD LEAD

INTEREST RATES TO RISE

TEMPORARILY, AND IT WOULD

CARRY A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF

SLOWING ON ENDING THE

ECONOMIC RECOVERY.

Wendy: THAT POLICY HAD

INITIATED LOW INTEREST RATES

AND MADE BORROWING CHEAPER.

A FEDERAL COURT STRUCK DOWN

ARIZONA'S BAN ON ABORTIONS

AFTER 20 WEEKS OF

PREGNANCY.

THE JUDGE SAYS THE LAW

VIOLATED A WOMAN'S RIGHT TO

TERMINATE A PREGNANCY BEFORE

A FETUS IS ABLE TO SURVIVE

OUTSIDE OF THE WOMB.

THE FETUS IS GENERALLY

CONSIDERED VIABLE AT 24

WEEKS.

NINE OTHER STATES HAVE BANS

ON ABORTIONS STARTING AT 20

WEEKS, AND SOME EVEN

EARLIER.

SUPPORTERS OF THE BAN SAY

THE LAW WAS MEANT TO PROTECT

THE MOTHER'S HEALTH AND TO

PREVENT FETUSES FROM FEELING

PAIN.

THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA IS

FINALLY DECIDING THE FUTURE

OF THE BAN ON GAY TROOP

MEMBERS.

THE OFFICIALS WILL COUNT THE

BALLOTS CAST TO DECIDE IF

THE GROUP WILL ALLOW OPENLY

HOMOSEXUAL SCOUT MEMBERS.

THE PROPOSAL ON THE TABLE

WOULD ALLOW GAY SCOUTS BUT

NOT GAY ADULT SCOUT

LEADERS.

MANY TROOPS ARE SPONSORED BY

CHURCHES.

IF THE BAN IS LIFTED, SOME

SAY IT WILL CAUSE SUPPORT

FOR THE SCOUTS TO DROP.

I THINK YOU WOULD SEE A

MASS EXITOUS, NOT JUST OF

DENOM MATIONS DENOMINATION

OF COMMON SENSE PARENTS WHO

SAY WE CAN'T TRUST SCOUTING

ANYMORE.

Wendy: THE BFA HAS BEEN

GRAPPLING WITH ITS POLICY OF

FORBIDDING HOMOSEXUALS FOR

THE PAST YEAR.

UP NEXT, WE'RE LOOK AT A

SPIRITUAL REVIVAL TAKING

PLACE IN THE ROMANIAN

COUNTRYSIDE.

Wendy: WELCOME BACK.

THE EUROPEAN UNION IS

DECIDING WHETHER TO LABEL

HEZBOLLAH'S MILITARY WING AS

A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.

THE CHANGE WOULD REQUIRE A

UNANIMOUS DECISION AMONG ALL

MEMBER NATIONS OF THE E.U.

GERMANY HAS LONG BEEN

OPPOSED TO THE MOVE, FEARING

IT WOULD DESTABILIZE LEBANON

AND THE AREA AROUND IT.

BUT NEW INFORMATION ABOUT

THE INVOLVEMENT IN PLANNING

ATTACKS IN ISRAEL AND CYPRUS

HAS CAUSED OFFICIALS TO

RE-EVALUATE THEIR POSITION.

THE UNITED STATES HAS HAD

HEZBOLLAH ON ITS TERROR LIST

SINCE 1997.

FOR MUCH OF THE 20th

CENTURY, ROMANIA SUFFERED

UNDER THE TOUGH RULE OF A

DICTATOR.

ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO, A

REVOLUTION BROUGHT FREEDOM

TO THE COUNTRY, ALLOWING

MANY TO MOVE FORWARD.

BUT FOR ONE SEGMENT OF THE

POPULATION, LIBERTY AND

PROSPERITY REMAINS JUST A

DREAM.

BUT AS EPHRAIM GRAHAM

REPORTS, THE COUNTRY'S

GYPSIES ARE EXPERIENCE A

WEALTH THAT MONEY JUST CAN'T

BY.

Reporter: RADIA IS

EIGHT MILES FROM ROMANIA'S

BORDER WITH HUNGARY.

AND CITY STREETS ARE AS BUSY

AS ANY OTHER EASTERN

EUROPEAN TOWN AT RUSH-HOUR.

IN A DEVELOPING COUNTRY,

ESPECIALLY NOW ONE THAT IS A

MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN

UNION, YOU WOULD EXPECT

EVERYONE TO BE MOVING

FORWARD AT ONE PLACE OR

ANOTHER.

Reporter: BUT GREAT

EXPECTATIONS AREN'T ALWAYS

REALITY.

IT IS A LESSON LEARNED FOR

KEVIN HOY, AFTER YEARS OF

MISSION WORK IN ROMANIA.

WHAT YOU REALIZE AS YOU

TRAVEL AROUND IS SO MANY OF

THE GYPSY COMMUNISTS HAVEN'T

MOVED FORWARD AT ALL.

THEY'RE EXACTLY WHERE THEY

WERE, WHETHER IT IS 10 YEARS

AGO OR 20 YEARS AGO.

Reporter: IN THIS GYPSY

VILLAGE, PEOPLE HAVE SPENT

GENERATIONS AWAY FROM THE

REST OF ROMANIAN SOCIETY.

THE WAY THEY HAVE BEEN

BROUGHT UP FROM GENERATIONS,

THEY WOULD FOLLOW THEIR

IMMEDIATE NEEDS, BUT THEN BE

UNABLE TO SEE THE

PROSPECTIVE.

Reporter: THIS GYPSY

VILLAGE IS ACTUALLY ONE OF

THE POOREST IN THE AREA.

HOMES LIKE THE ONE BEHIND ME

ARE MADE OF MUD AND BRICK.

YOU CAN TAKE A LOOK AND SEE

IT IS NOT STURDY AT ALL,

EASY TO CRUMBLE.

THIS IS ALSO AN AREA WHERE

CHILDREN DON'T HAVE THE

OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO

SCHOOL.

THAT CAN MAKE IT DIFFICULT

TO DREAM.

DREAMS OF A BETTER LIFE ARE

EVEN MORE DIFFICULT FOR THE

ADULTS, LIKE ROBERT, WHO

SAYS IT IS TOO LATE TO EVEN

THINK ABOUT AN EDUCATION.

Translator: I THINK THE

ONLY WAY I CAN MAKE SOME

MONEY IS TO BE THERE WHEN

PEOPLE NEED US TO HELP THEM,

PICKING THE CROPS.

Reporter: HOPE CAN BE

HARD TO FIND IN THIS GYPSY

VILLAGE.

TIMES THEY MIGHT BE

VIOLENT.

NOT TO ME, NOT TO US, BUT TO

EACH OTHER.

EDUCATION IS A BIG

FACTOR, BUT PREJUDICE ALSO

PLAYS A MAJOR PART IN THE

FACT THAT THEY'RE JUST

TRAPPED.

AND WHATEVER WE'RE TRAPPED

BY, YOU KNOW THE TRUTH OF

THE GOSPEL CAN RELEASE US.

Reporter: KEVIN AND HIS

TEAM SEE THE REALITY OF THAT

TRUTH JUST A FEW MILES AWAY,

HERE IN THE GYPSY VILLAGE

ONCE KNOWN FOR CRIME AND

VIOLENCE.

ESPECIALLY WHEN I WASN'T

A CHRISTIAN, I WAS REALLY

ANGRY WITH THESE PEOPLE,

KNOWING THEY PUT A BAD MARK

ON MY COUNTRY.

Reporter: THIS GYPSY

VILLAGE IS HOME TO ABOUT 40

FAMILIES, ROUGHLY 500

PEOPLE, AND IT HAS SEEN A

LOT OF CHANGES SINCE THE

YEAR 2001.

THAT'S THE YEAR KEVIN HOY

MET A YOUNG GYPSY BEGGING ON

THE STREETS.

WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO

EAT, AND HIS LITTLE BOY WAS

HUNGRY AND HE CAME WITH US.

OVER THE TWO HOURS, WE

LEARNED A LOT ABOUT HIS

FAMILY AND HIS COMMUNITY,

AND HE ENDED UP TAKING US

BACK TO MEET HIS MOM AND DAD

AND EIGHT BROTHERS AND

SISTERS.

WE WERE SHOCKED TO SEE

THEM AT OUR DOOR.

I WAS WITH ONE OF MY KIDS IN

MY ARMS.

I ASKED MY CHILD, WHO ARE

THESE PEOPLE.

HE WAS, LIKE, THEY ARE MY

FRIENDS.

Reporter: NOW THAT

LITTLE BOY HAS CHILDREN OF

HIS OWN.

AND IN THE LAST 10 YEARS,

THAT FRIENDSHIP PRODUCED

RUNNING WATER FOR THE

VILLAGE, A NEIGHBORHOOD

STORE, A SCHOOL, AND EVEN A

CHURCH, WHERE GYPSIES HAVE

COME TO CHRIST.

FOR SURE GOD'S PEOPLE

WOULD BE LOOKING TO HELP

GYPSY COMMUNITIES.

Reporter: THE TEA LAH

GYPSY VILLAGE IS PART OF A

GROWING GYPSY SURVIVAL, IT

IS A STORY DOCUMENTED BY

TUDDA RATAN AND THE ALPHA

OMEGA TELEVISION NETWORK.

GOD, IN HIS MERCY,

DECIDED TO WORK WITH STRONG

POWER, TO THESE GROUPS

MARGINALIZED FOR CENTURIES

HERE IN EUROPE.

IT IS A SIGN FOR ME THAT THE

TIME IS VERY SHORT.

Reporter: HE WITNESSED

WHAT MANY CALL THE TOPILA

MIRACLE.

500 GYPSIES WERE BAPTIZED

AFTER ACCEPTING CHRIST IN

2009, THE LARGEST BAPTISM IN

ROMANIA'S HISTORY AT THE

TIME.

THIS RECORDING ARTIST LED

WORSHIP.

WE GYPSIES HAVE SINGING

IN OUR BLOOD, BUT THIS HAS

NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR

FAITH.

WE SING FROM OUR HEARTS

BECAUSE WE WERE A

MARGINALIZED PEOPLE.

Reporter: HUNDREDS MORE

HAVE ANSWERED THE CALL TO

CHRIST THROUGH THE

MINISTRY.

KEVIN HOY NOW PRAYS REVIVAL

WILL SOON REACH THE

RESIDENTS OF SAL ARD, BUT

ARD, BUT IN THE MEANTIME, HE

AND HIS TEAM PREACH THE

GOSPEL WITHOUT WORDS.

WE COULD TALK TO THEM ALL

DAY LONG AND THEY WOULDN'T

BE ABLE TO GRASP WHAT WE'RE

TRYING TO SAY.

PRACTICAL EVIDENCE OF GOD'S

LOVE IS WHAT THE PEOPLE

NEED.

Reporter: E EPHRAIM

GRAHAM, CBN NEWS NEWS,

ROMANIA.

Wendy: AND FINALLY,

BOTOX IS INCREASINGLY

BECOMING A HOUSEHOLD NAME,

AND NOW IT IS NOT JUST FOR

THE MIDDLE-AGED.

IT'S LIKE GETTING A

HAIRCUT, IT MAKES YOU FEEL

BETTER.

Wendy: LIKE GETTING A

HAIRCUT.

DERMATOLOGISTS SAY THEIR

CLIENTELE SEEMS TO BE

GETTING YOUNGER AND

YOUNGER.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, OF THE

SIX MILLION SOME BOTOX

INJECTIONS PERFORMED IN

2012, ALMOST 100,000 WERE

PATIENTS IN THEIR 20s,

SOME EVEN TEENS.

I HAVE A LOT OF 27,

28-YEAR-OLDS, ESPECIALLY

EX-TANNERS AND WHO SMOKE.

I HAD ONE OR TWO WRINKLES

STARTING TO COME OUT ON MY

FOREHEAD, AFTER THE BOTOX, I

DIDN'T SEE IT AT ALL.

Wendy: NOW SOME DOCTORS

IN BRITAIN SAY THEY'RE

STARTING TO REFUSE PATIENTS

UNDER THE AGE OF 30, AND

THEY SAY IT IS MORE
