AND THANKS FOR JOINING US

FOR CBN "NEWSWATCH."

I'M HEATHER SELLS.

Efrem: AND I'M EFREM

GRAHAM.

HILLARY CLINTON SAYS HE USED

HER PRIVATE E-MAIL ACCOUNT

TO CONDUCT GOVERNMENT

BUSINESS FOR CONVENIENCE.

THE FORMER SECRETARY OF

STATE BROKE HER SILENCE ON

THE ISSUE TIEWSMED AT

TUESDAY AT A NEWS

CONFERENCE.

IN WILLING TO CONCEDE TO

MUCH OF HER CRITICS.

Reporter: HILLARY

CLINTON REMAINS ON THE

DEFENSE OVER HER USE OF A

PERSONAL E-MAIL ACCOUNT FOR

GOVERNMENT BUSINESS.

ACKNOWLEDGING IN HINDSIGHT

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

FOR HER TO USE TWO SEPARATE

ACCOUNTS, BUT INSISTING SHE

NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG.

I FULLY COMPLIED WITH

EVERY RULE I WAS GOVERNED

BY.

Reporter: THE PRESS

CONFERENCE WAS MEANT TO

BRING AN END TO THE CONT ES

CONTROVERSY, BUT ANALYSTS

SAY THIS IS LIKELY AN ISSUE

THAT WILL FOLLOW HER AS SHE

GEARS UP FOR HER RUN AS

PRESIDENT.

REPUBLICANS SAID SHE USED

ONE E-MAIL ACCOUNT INSTEAD

OF TWO BECAUSE SHE ONLY

WANTED TO CARRY ONE PHONE.

IF SHE WANTS SOMEONE TO

SHOW HER HOW TO PUT TWO

E-MAIL ACCOUNTS ON ONE

PHONE, I'M HAPPY TO DO IT.

Reporter: CLINTON SAYS

SHE USED HER PERSONAL

ACCOUNT BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT

IT WOULD BE SIMPLER.

THE FORMER SECRETARY OF

STATE TURNED OVER 55,000

PAGES OF E-MAILS TO THE

STATE DEPARTMENT IN RESPONSE

TO THE CONTROVERSY.

ONLY WITHHOLDING OR DELETING

THOSE THAT WERE PURELY

PERSONAL.

NO ONE WANTS THEIR

PERSONAL E-MAILS MADE

PUBLIC, AND I THINK MOST

PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT AND

RESPECT THAT PRIVACY.

Reporter: CRITICS

AREN'T SATISFIED.

ACCUSING CLINTON OF A LACK

OF TRANSPARENCY.

THEY POINT TO THE FACT SHE

REFUSES TO ALLOW AN OUTSIDE

OBSERVER TO EXAMINE HER

E-MAIL SERVER.

THE MEDIA DOESN'T APPEAR TO

BE SATISFIED EITHER.

ONE HEADLINE READING

"CLINTON FAILS TO CALM

E-MAIL STORM."

AND ANOTHER, "CLINTONS AND

CONTROVERSY, THE CIRCUS IS

BACK IN TOWN."

Heather: IRAQI MILITARY

FORCES HAVE RETAKEN A TOWN

FROM ISIS.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS SAY

IRAQ SEE TROOPS BACK BY

MALITIA MEN ENTERED THE TOWN

OF ALAM.

ALAM IS FIVE MILES NORTH OF

TIKRIT.

THE IRAQI TROOPS WERE

HEADING THERE NEXT.

TODAY THE SENATE WILL

QUESTION THREE OF THE TOP

SECURITY OFFICIALS BO ABOUT

NEW WAR POWERS TO FIGHT

ISIS.

Efrem: SOME DISTURBING

NEWS ABOUT HOW THE NIGERIAN

BASED TERROR GROUP BOKO

HARAM TREATS CHILDREN.

THEY SAY THEY HAVE RESCUED

80 CHILDREN, AND THE

CHILDREN WERE UNABLE TO

RECALL THEIR NAMES.

SECURITY FORCES RAIDED THE

CAMP IN NOVEMBER, AND TOOK

THE CHILDREN TO BE

REHABILITATED.

THEY RANGE IN AGES FROM FIVE

TO 18.

THE B.B.C. REPORTS THEY

SPENT SO LONG WITH THEIR

CAPTORS BEING INDOCTRINATED

IN JIHADIST IDEOLOGY, THEY

CAN NO LONGER REMEMBER THEIR

NAMES OR THEIR HOME TOWNS.

Heather: THE POLICE IN

THAILAND HAVE ARRESTED MORE

THAN 400 PAKISTANI CHRISTIAN

IMMIGRANTS, INCLUDING

CHILDREN.

MANY OF THE CHRISTIANS FLED

PAKISTAN BECAUSE THEY WERE

EITHER ACCUSED OF BLASPHEMY

OR THREATENED BY MILITANT

MUSLIMS.

THEY HAVE SOUGHT WORK AND

REFUGEE STATUS, AND MANY

REPORTEDLY HAVE INTERVIEW

APPOINTMENTS SCHEDULED WITH

THE UNITED NATIONS.

SOME OF THE PAKISTANI

CHRISTIANS ARE CONVERTS FROM

ISLAM.

SINCE ARRIVING IN THAILAND,

THEY HAVE DEPENDED ON

CHURCHES AND OTHERS FOR FOOD

AND HOUSING.ñaña

THE THAI GOVERNMENT SAYS

THEY ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

AND SHOULD BE DEPORTED.

Efrem: BACK HERE IN THE

U.S., A FEDERAL APPEALS

COURT SAYS MISSOURI'S HOUSE

OF WORSHIP PROTECTION ACT IS

A VIOLATION OF THE FIRST

AMENDMENT.

THE LAW BANS INTENTIONAL

DISRUPTION OF WORSHIP WITH

DISCOURSE.

THE AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES

UNION CHALLENGED THE LAW

WITH A LAWSUIT BACK IN

2012.

VIOLATORVIOLATORS WOULD

HAVE BEEN GUILTY OF A

MISDEMEANOR AND COULD HAVE

FACED JAIL TIME.

Heather: ALABAMA BECAME

GROUND ZERO IN THE DEBATE

OVER MARRIAGE, WHEN A

FEDERAL JUDGE WARNED A BAN

ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE WAS

UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

BUT THEY PITTED THE STATE

AGAINST THE FEDERAL

GOVERNMENT.

JOHN JESSUP RECENTLY SAT

DOWN WITH THE MAN AT THE

CENTER OF THE CONFLICT.

Reporter: A VIETNAM WAR

VETERAN, ROY MOORE IS NO

STRANGER TO A FIGHT.

BUT TODAY HE IS ENGAGED IN A

FIGHT OF A DIFFERENT KIND,

ONE BEING WAGED IN THE

COURTS.

TO ME IT BOILS DOWN TO

THE SIMPLE FACT THAT FEDERAL

COURTS ACROSS THIS LAND HAVE

MANDATED THEIR WILL

UNLAWFULLY OVER THE PEOPLE

OF THE STATES.

Reporter: AS CHIEF

JUSTICE OF THE ALABAMA

SUPREME COURT, JUDGE MOORE

IS AN ARDENT AND OUTSPOKEN

SUPPORTER OF TRADITIONAL

MARRIAGE.

HIS LATEST MOVE, ORDERING

ALABAMA'S PROBATE JUDGES TO

STOP GRANTING MARRIAGE

LICENSES TO SAME-SEX COUPLES

AFTER A FEDERAL JUDGE STRUCK

DOWN THE STATE'S

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

UPHOLDING TRADITIONAL

MARRIAGE AND PREVENTING GAYS

FROM TAKING THEIR VOWS.

THE CONFLICTING ORDERS PUT

THE STATE FRONT AND CENTER

IN THE NATIONAL DEBATE OVER

MARRIAGE, MAKING ALABAMA THE

FIRST STATE IN THE COUNTRY

TO OPENLY DEFY A FEDERAL

JUDGE'S ORDERS ON THE

ISSUE.

LEGAL OBSERVERS SAY IT IS

NOW AS MUCH A CASE PITTING

THE FEDERAL COURTS VERSUS

STATE COURTS, AS IT IS A

QUESTION OF STATES RIGHTS

VERSUS PEOPLE'S RIGHTS.

MOORE'S POSITION IS THAT

STATE COURTS HAVE JUST AS

MUCH AUTHORITY TO INTERPRET

THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AS THE

FEDERAL COURTS DO, AND THE

DEBATE OVER MARRIAGE ISN'T

ABOUT EQUAL PROTECTION.

INSTEAD, IT IS ABOUT

REDEFINING AN AGE-OLD

INSTITUTION THAT HAS LONG

FORMED THE FOUNDATION OF

FAMILIES.

NO FEDERAL COURT, TO

INCLUDE THE UNITED STATES

SUPREME COURT, HAS AUTHORITY

TO GO INTO THE CONSTITUTION

AND DEFINE THE WORD

"MARRIAGE."

IF WE ALLOW FEDERAL COURTS

TO INTRUDE INTO THE SUBJECT

OF MARRIAGE, THEY WILL

INTRUDE IN THE SUBJECT OF

PARENT AND CHILD AND HUSBAND

AND WIFE.

Reporter: CRITICS CALL

MOORE A BIGOT, HOMOPHOBIC

AND INTOLERANT.

SOME HAVE EVEN COMPARED HIM

TO GEORGE WALLACE, WHO

FOUGHT AN ORDER TO INTEGRATE

THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA.

MOORE DISAGREES.

THIS IS ABOUT SEXUAL

PREFERENCE.

THE OTHER IS ABOUT A NATURAL

GENETIC MAKEUP, WHICH SHOULD

NOT BE DISCRIMINATED

AGAINST.

Reporter: AND HE IS

GETTING SUPPORT FROM

UNLIKELY PLACES.

A RECENT NEW YORK TIMES

OPINION PIECE TITLED "WHAT

ROY MOORE GOT RIGHT."

DESCRIBED HIM AS PROVOCATIVE

AND OUT OF TOUCH, BUT SAID

AS FOR THE WORD "MARRIAGE,"

MOORE IS RIGHT THAT THE

SUPREME COURT CAN NO MANDATE

HOW WE USE A WORD ANYMORE

THAN THEY CAN CREATE AN

INSTITUTION ON ITS OWN.

WHAT IS YOUR FEAR WHAT WILL

HAPPEN IF PEOPLE LIKE YOU

DON'T TAKE THE STAND LIKE

YOU.

BECAUSE IT IS NOT

REDEFINING MARRIAGE.

IT IS GIVING NO DEFINITION

TO MARRIAGE.

Reporter: JOHN JESSUP,

CBN NEWS, MONTGOMERY,

ALABAMA.

Efrem: MORE FALL OUT

FROM THAT RACIST VIDEO.

TWO MEMBERS WERE CAUGHT ON

VIDEO CHANTING A STATEMENT

THAT MENTIONS LYNCHINGS.

THE UNIVERSITY HAS CLOSED

THE FRATERNITY CHAPTER, AND

FORCED THE FRAT MEMBERS TO

MOVE OUT OF THE HOUSE.

THE NATIONAL FRATERNITY IS

DENYING THE CHANT IS PART OF

ITS OVERALL CULTURE.

THIS SONG IS NOT

SANCTIONED, ENDORSED, OR

OTHERWISE A NATIONAL SONG.

I THINK THIS IS THE

OPPORTUNITY TO TURN THE TIDE

AND SET A PRECEDENT FOR THE

ENTIRE NATION.

Efrem: THE PRESIDENT OF

THE UNIVERSITY SAYS THE

INVESTIGATION WILL CONTINUE

AND OTHER STUDENTS COULD

FACE PUNISHMENT AS WELL.

Heather: A UTAH BABY IS

ALIVE TODAY THANKS TO A

FISHERMAN AND A GROUP OF

POLICE AND FIRE OFFICIALS

AND A MYSTERIOUS VOICE.

A FISHERMAN CALLED 9-1-1.

WHEN THE POLICE ARRIVED ON

THE SCENE, THEY REMEMBER

HEARING A VOICE CALLING TO

THEM, SAYING HELP ME.

BUT WHEN THEY FLIPPED THE

CAR OVER, THEY FOUND THE

WOMAN DRIVING HAD DIED, AND

THEY FOUND HER BABY

UNCONSCIOUS, BUT ALIVE.

I SAID, AM I THE ONLY ONE

HEARING THAT?

AND I TALKED TO THE OTHER

OFFICERS, AND THEY ALL HEARD

THE SAME THING, A VOICE

SAYING, HELP US.

HELP ME.

Heather: POLICE

OFFICIALS TOLD CBN NEWS THE

18-MONTH-OLD BABY, LILY, HAS

MADE A MIRACULOUS RECOVERY

AND IS WITH HER EXTENDED

FAMILY.

Efrem: STILL AHEAD, HOW

ACTIVISTS ARE BLOCKING

COUNSELLORS FROM HELPING

PEOPLE DEALING WITH SAME-SEX

ATTRACTION.

WE'LL EXPLAIN WHEN WE COME

BACK.

Efrem: A NEW HURTLE FOR

COUNSELLORS WHO WORK WITH

PATIENTS WHO WANT TO

OVERCOME SAME-SEX

ATTRACTION.

PSYCHOLOGY TODAY IS SIDING

WITH GAY ACTIVISTS WHO HAVE

BEEN PUSHING TO BAN ANY KIND

OF CONVERSION THERAPY.

THE MAGAZINE IS NOW BANNING

ALL PSYCHOLOGISTS WHO OFFER

THE THERAPY FROM ITS

DIRECTORY OF PRACTITIONERS.

AND HEATHER SELLS JOINS US,

AND YOU HAVE, OF COURSE,

BEEN COVERING THIS FOR QUITE

SOMETIME IN TERMS OF

BATTLES, AND YOU'VE ALSO

WRITTEN A BLOG ON IT.

HOW SIGNIFICANT IS THIS

FIRST THING THEY'VE DONE

HERE IN PSYCHOLOGIST TODAY?

PSYCHOLOGY TODAY IS NOT A

MAJOR PUBLICATION.

WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IS

THEY'VE BANNED THE ADS, BUT

NOT A LOT OF LICENSED

COUNSELLORS AND

PSYCHOLOGISTS ARE

ADVERTISING CONVERSION

THERAPY SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE

IS NOT RESEARCH THAT SAYS IT

WORKS.

NO ONE WANTS TO SAY COME IN

AND I'LL CHANGE YOU BECAUSE

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE RIGHT

NOW, NO MAGIC FORMULA TO

CHANGE SOMEONE'S SEXUAL

ORIENTATION.

Efrem: AT THE STATE

LEVEL, WHAT IS HAPPENING

WITH THESE BATTLES?

THAT IS INTERESTING

BECAUSE THERE IS A BATTLE ON

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE THERAPY

ROOM, AND THE COUNSELLORS

ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR

FREE SPEECH RIGHTS.

YOU'VE GOT IN CALIFORNIA AND

NEW JERSEY, THIS THERAPY HAS

BEEN BANNED.

AND THEN YOU HAVE IN

OKLAHOMA, A COMPLETE REVERSE

MOMENTUM GOING ON.

YOU HAVE THEM SAYING, HEY,

WE REALLY WANT COUNSELLORS

TO BE ABLE TO SAY WHAT THEY

WANT TO SAY IN THE THERAPY

ROOM, AND WE WANT PATIENTS

TO BE ABLE TO ASK FOR HELP

WITH UNWANTED SAME-SEX

ATTRACTION.

SO YOU HAVE A BIG DEBATE

REALLY OVER FREE SPEECH

GOING ON.

IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO

SEE HOW IT ALL PLAYS OUT.

Efrem: THE COUNSELLORS

JUST WANT TO HELP PEOPLE.

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT FOR

THEM?

ARE THEY BEING OSTRACIZED?

THERE IS AN UNDERLYING

CONCERN AND FEAR.

AND THERE HAVE BEEN CASES

WHERE THEY HAVE TAPED -- GAY

ACTIVISTS HAVE GONE INTO

THERAPY ROOMS, POSING AS

SOMEONE WHO WANTED HELP AND

WERE NOT LEGITIMATE.

THERE IS THIS CONCERN IN THE

COUNSELLING WORD THAT I NEED

TO BE CAREFUL.

THIS IS A VERY POLITICAL

ISSUE, AND I NEED TO BE

CAREFUL IN WHAT I SAY.

Efrem: INDEED.

WHERE IS ALL THIS HEADING,

DO YOU THINK?

I THINK IT IS GOING TO BE

INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT

HAPPENS IN OKLAHOMA.

I THINK THE CONVERSATION

AROUND FREE SPEECH WILL

CONTINUE.

I THINK COUNSELLORS REALLY

ARE WANTING TO MAKE SURE

THAT FREE SPEECH RIGHTS ARE

MAINTAINED.

A LOT OF PARENTS WANT

PARENTAL RIGHTS.

AND THEY WANT THEIR KIDS TO

BE ABLE GET THAT HELP.

I THINK THE CONVERSATION

WILL CONTINUE.

THERE IS A POSSIBILITY IF

OKLAHOMA PASSES THIS BILL

AND THEN IT GETS APPEALED,

AND THEN YOU'VE GOT

DIFFERENT FEDERAL COURTS

DISAGREEING, IT COULD

ULTIMATELY END UP AT THE

SUPREME COURT LEVEL.

SO, YOU KNOW, THERE IS A LOT

AHEAD ON THIS ISSUE.

Efrem: WE'LL BE

COUNTING ON YOU TO KEEP US

POSTED.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

> UP NEXT, PICTURE THIS:

JUST OVERHEAD A NUCLEAR

REACTOR.

AND UNDERNEATH, 5,000 PEOPLE

AROUND YOU.

SEE HOW CHRISTIANS ARE

COPING ABOARD THE U.S.S.

THEORDORE ROOSEVELT.

THAT STORY IS COMING UP

NEXT.

Efrem: A SPECIAL

OPERATIONS HELICOPTER HAS

CRASHED ON A TRAINING

MISSION IN THE FLORIDA

PANHANDLE.

SEVEN MANNERS AND FOUR

SOLDIERS WERE ON BOARD.

THEY WERE ON A NIGHT

TRAINING EXERCISE ON A

REMOTE BEACH IN THE

PANHANDLE.

RESCUE CREWS FOUND DEBRIS

FROM THE CRASH, BUT THE

SEARCH RIGHT NOW IS

ON-GOING.

Heather: AIRCRAFT

CARRIERS ARE FLOATING CITIES

DEFENDING OUR COUNTRY FOR

MONTHS AT A TIME.

THE U.S.S. THEORDORE

ROOSEVELT IS ONE OF THEM.

AND IT IS SETTING SAIL ON

ITS NEXT MISSION, WHICH IS

ALMOST A YEAR.

Efrem: THAT CAN BE

CHALLENGING FOR THE SAILORS,

ALONG WITH THEIR FAMILIES

AND THEIR FAITH.

I WENT ON BOARD THE

ROOSEVELT TO MEET SOME

COURAGEOUS CHRISTIANS AT

SEA.

Efrem: THE U.S.S.

THEORDORE ROOSEVELT, 90,000

TONS OF STEEL, WITH A JET

RUNWAY ON TOP.

AND THE CHANCE TO SHARE THE

STORIES OF ITS BRAVE SAILORS

IS AN ADVENTURE, FOR ME AS A

REPORTER, FROM THE VERY

START.

THIS JOURNEY FROM NAVAL

STATION NORFOLK REQUIRES

SAFETY VESTS, HELMETS, AND

GOGGLES.

SAILORS CALL THE ROOSEVELT

"THE BIG STICK," AS IT

TOWERS 20 STORIES ABOVE THE

WATER AND STRETCHES THREE

AND A HALF FOOTBALL FIELDS.

INSIDE THE CARRIER FEELS

LIKE A SERIES OF UNENDING

MAZES, BRIDGES, AND TUNNELS,

AND SOMETIMES THERE CAN BE

AS MANY AS 5,000 PEOPLE ON

BOARD.

AND THEY MAKE UP THIS

VESSEL'S MOST IMPRESSIVE AS

SET ASSET, FROM THOSE WHO

GUIDE THE RAPID LANDINGS AND

TAKEOFFS ON THE FLIGHT DECK,

TO THOSE WHO REPAIR PIPES IN

THE MACHINE SHOP, AND THOSE

WHO SAFELY TRANSPORT

EXPLOSIVES ON AND OFF THE

CARRIER.

THIS IS PRECISION UNDER

PRESSURE.

I DO THE JOB I DO IN THE

NAVY NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE OF

THE JOB.

BECAUSE WORKING WITH

EXPLOSIVES IS NOT THE FIRST

THING I THOUGHT ABOUT.

BUT I DO IT FOR THE PEOPLE.

BECAUSE THERE IS A CHANCE IF

SOMETHING GOES WRONG, IT CAN

INHERENTLY KILL THE ENTIRE

DEPARTMENT, SO WE'RE VERY

TIGHT-KNIT, AND MY COMMUNITY

IS A TIGHT-KNIT COMMUNITY.

Reporter: WITH MORE

THAN 17 YEARS IN THE NAVY,

CHARLES HART WORKS TO MAKE

THAT COMMUNITY EVEN TIGHTER

AND SAVES LIVES.

THE EXPLOSIVES EXPERT LEADS

AN EVENING BIBLE STUDY FIVE

NIGHTS A WEEK.

WHEN I CAME INTO THE

MILITARY, I WAS A YOUNG

BELIEVER.

I CAME IN 18, 19 YEARS OLD,

AND I WAS A CHRISTIAN.

I WAS LICENSED TO MINISTER.

AND SO I SEE THE IMPORTANCE

OF MAKING SURE YOU CONNECT

AT AN EARLY AGE WITH OTHER

BELIEVERS.

Efrem: THAT CONNECTION

IS CRITICAL, ESPECIALLY

NOW.

ON OUR VISIT ABOARD THE

ROOSEVELT, SAILORS ARE

FINISHING UP FINAL TRAINING

FOR A NINE-MONTH

DEPLOYMENT.

YOU CAN BE LONELY AT

TIMES.

SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET

DEPRESSED.

SO YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY

REMIND YOURSELF THIS IS ONLY

FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, MY

FAMILY IS AT HOME AND

THEY'RE WAITING FOR ME AND

THEY'RE EXCITED ABOUT SEEING

ME, JUST AS I'M EXCITED

ABOUT SEEING THEM.

ONCE THIS IS DONE, I CAN GO

HOME AND SPEND TIME WITH

THEM.

Efrem: AND THE SAILORS'

SACRIFICES CAN BE SEEN IN

THE SIMPLEST OF WAYS.

THESE ARE SLEEPING QUARTERS,

RATHER TIGHT FOR SIX

PEOPLE.

IT GETS TOUGH SOMETIMES.

I'M NOT GOING TO LIE.

OBVIOUSLY, YOU'RE GOING TO

MISS YOUR FAMILY.

I WAS WITH MY FAMILY FOR 19

YEARS, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN

I'M AWAY FROM THEM.

LUCKILY I HAVE PEOPLE AROUND

THE SHIP I CAN CALL MY SEA

FAMILY, AND THEY GET ME

THROUGH THE DAY.

Efrem: THIS IS A

MILESTONE MISSION FOR STEVEN

GREEN.

HIS FIRST DEPLOYMENT AS A

CHRISTIAN.

IT PRETTY MUCH TESTS MY

FAITH.

Efrem: LESS THAN A YEAR

AGO, THE 22-YEAR-OLD

ATTENDED A WORSHIP SERVICE

IN THE SHIP'S FOLKSIL.

AT THAT MEETING ANOTHER

SAILOR INVITED STEVEN TO

ATTEND HIS CHURCH BACK AT

HOME.

THE FIRST DAY THERE,

HONELY, HONESTLY, I DIDN'T

GET MUCH OF ANYTHING.

BUT SOMETHING WAS DRAWING ME

BACK TO THE CHURCH, SO I

CAME BACK A SECOND TIME.

THE PASTOR, WE WERE RIGHT IN

THE MIDDLE OF WORSHIP

SERVICE AND SHE STOPPED AND

LOOKED DIRECTLY AT ME AND

SHE SPOKE INTO MY LIFE AND

EF GAVGAVE ME WHAT GOD WAS

TELLING ME.

A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, I WAS

PRAYING TO GOD ABOUT WHAT

WAS GOING ON IN MY LIFE.

AND IT WAS LIKE SHE WAS

LISTENING ON ME AND GOD'S

CONVERSATIONS.

Efrem: THE SAILOR'S

PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED.

HE ACCEPTED CHRIST, STOPPED

DRINKING, AND DISCOVERED

FAITH.

IT WAS REALLY BAD, TO THE

POINT WHERE I WAS DRINKING

EVERY NIGHT.

I WAS PRETTY MUCH TRYING TO

FILL THAT VOID IN MY LIFE,

THINKING THAT IT WOULD MAKE

ME HAPPIER AND TAKE ALL OF

MY DEPRESSION AND STRESS

AWAY.

I MEAN, OBVIOUSLY IT DID

NOT.

I NEEDED GOD.

I'M ACTUALLY EIGHT MONTHS

SOBER NOW.

AND IT WAS -- FOR A LOT OF

FRIENDS THAT I USED TO HAVE,

IT WAS -- THEY DIDN'T REALLY

GET IT.

THEY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IT.

Efrem: GREEN BEAT THE

ODDS, WHICH SHOWS ALCOHOL

ABUSE IS A SIGNIFICANT

PROBLEM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN

THE MILITARY.

HE NOW PRAYS.

WHEN THE BIG STICK SETS

SAIL, THOSE OLD DRINKING

BUDDIES WILL ONE DAY JOIN

HIM AS A SHIP BIBLE STUDY, A

SHIP CHURCH SERVICE, OR

THEY'LL SIMPLY PAUSE TO

TRULY HEAR ONE OF THE SHIP'S

NIGHTLY PRAYERS.

LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN AT

SEA CAN BE VERY SIMILAR TO

YOUR LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN IN

PORT.

IT'S HOW YOU CONNECT WITH

OTHER BELIEVERS.

Efrem: AND THE

CONNECTION PROVIDES ADDED

PROTECTION.

Heather: SO MANY

OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVANGELISM

ON THE SHIP.

Efrem: AMAZING PEOPLE.

Heather: GREAT STUFF.

WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK.

Efrem: WELL, FINALLY

TODAY, A LITTLE BEAUTY AND

SAFETY ADVICE FOR WOMEN.

THERE HAS BEEN A BIG TREND

TOWARDS FAKE EYELASHES IN

RECENT YEARS, BUT IT TURNS

OUT THAT TREND COMES WITH

SOME RISKS.

Heather: CAITLIN BURKE

SPOKE WITH DR. ALBERT PAYNE

OF TRINITY EYE CARE.

FOR MORE OF THE DANGERS THAT

IS POSED BY THE GLUE THAT IS

USED.

Reporter: FAKE

EYELASHES ARE NOTHING NEW.

BUT OPTOMETRISTS SAY THEY

POSE SOME VERY REAL HEALTH

RISKS.

THE EYE IS A VERY

SENSITIVE ORGANMENT ANY

ORGAN.

WHEN YOU GET ANY DROP OF

THOSE GLUES IN THE EYE, THEY

IRRITATE YOU REAL BAD.

ONCE YOU ARE EXPOSED TO IT

THE FIRST TIME, THE SECOND

TIME YOU'RE EXPOSED TO IT

AGAIN, IT MAGNIFIES THE

PROBLEM.

Reporter: WHAT ARE SOME

SIGNS YOU'RE HAVING A

NEGATIVE REACTION TO THE

FAKE EYELASHES?

NORMAL THE GENERAL

RESPONSES TO INFLAMMATION IS

REDNESS, ITCHY, AND THEN THE

FOREIGN BODY SENSATION

BECAUSE YOUR EYES SWELL UP.

Reporter: CAN THE

EFFECTS OF FAKE EYELASHES

CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE?

IF YOU CONTINUE TO BE

EXPOSED TO IT WITHOUT EVEN

KNOWING IT, AND YOU KEEP ON

USING THE GLUE TO THE POINT

THAT THE REACTION CAN BE SO

STRONG, IT CAN FORM A SCAR.

Reporter: WHAT ADVICE

WOULD YOU GIVE TO WOMEN WHO

ARE USING FAKE EYELASHES?

THE ONLY THING IS THEY'RE

JUST EYELASHES.

BUT, AGAIN, THEY ARE FOR A

PURPOSE.

NUMBER ONE, THEY'RE TRYING

TO SHIELD OFF ALL OF THE

FOREIGN BODIES.

YOU HAVE LASHES THERE SO

OTHER THINGS THAT TRY TO GO

IN THE AIR WILL NOT GET TO

THE EYE BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT A

NATURAL SHIELD.

BUT WHEN YOU MAKE THE SHIELD

MUCH BIGGER, TWO THINGS WILL

HAPPEN.

THE STUDY IS THAT THEY DO

THE AIR DYNAMIC OF THE LONG

LASHES, AND THEY ACTUALLY

INDUCE DRY EYE BECAUSE EVERY

TIME YOU BLINK YOU MOVE THE

AIR TOWARDS YOUR EYE,

CAUSING DRYNESS.

Reporter: CAITLIN

BURKE, CBN NEWS.

Heather: I HAVEN'T BEEN

A FAN, AND I'M DEFINITELY

NOT A FAN NOW.

Efrem: YOUR OWN

EYELASHES ARE ENOUGH.

Heather: THAT'S IT FOR

CBN "NEWSWATCH."

YOU CAN FIND MORE OF OUR

EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE AT

CBNNEWS.COM.

Efrem: TAKE SOME TIME

TO TELL US ABOUT THE STORIES

YOU'VE SEEN HERE TODAY.

YOU CAN DO IT AT Facebook

OR CBN NEWS AT TWITTER.

HOPE YOU'LL JOIN US HERE

NEXT TIME.

IT IS THURSDAY, TAKE THE

TIME TO MAKE IT A THANKFUL

ONE.
