TERRY MEEUWSEN: Most mornings, 12-year-old Angelo skips

breakfast so his little sister will have something to eat.

INTERPRETER: Many days, I give her all the food we have.

TERRY MEEUWSEN: Most days, Angelo

eats only one small meal, which he

gets after his mother returns late in the evening.

Louisa is a single mom.

She travels and works about 17 hours a day and earns only $6,

when she can find work.

INTERPRETER: I leave home at 5:00

in the morning to look for jobs to do.

Some days, I can work on a taxi van,

collecting fares from people who ride.

It's hard work, but I'll do anything

to provide for my kids.

One afternoon, a friend invited Angelo and his sister

to an after-school program at a church in their community.

Here, they receive help with their school work.

They get a hot meal and snacks.

It's all sponsored by CBN's Orphan's Promise.

INTERPRETER: It's a great place to go because the ladies there

are very sweet.

INTERPRETER: I have fun.

I dance.

I sing.

They give me food to eat, too.

TERRY MEEUWSEN: The children also

learn about stories from the Bible,

as they watch episodes of CBN's "Superbook."

When we learned about Angelo's hard-working mom,

we had one more surprise for the family.

We built and stocked a grocery store right next to her home.

Now, she no longer has to leave the children home alone.

INTERPRETER: I give thanks to God and Orphan's Promise.

I am very happy for everything you have given us.

Thank you.
