Efrem: SECONDS AWAY

ON "STUDIO 5"...

WE HAVE CHOSEN JEREMY.

I WANTED TO BE THE

SPANISH JUSTIN BIEBER, BUT

THAT -- GOD QUICKLY

HUMBLED ME.

Efrem: HE WANTED TO

TOP THE POP MUSIC CHARTS,

BUT ONE CAFERTIO CONVERSATION

REROUTED HIS CAREER AND

HIS LIFE.

I CALLED MY MANAGER

THAT NIGHT AND I SAID, I'M

NOT DOING THIS ANYMORE.

CANCEL EVERYTHING YOU'VE

GOT.

*

GOOD MORNING *

Efrem: WHEN YOU HEAR

THIS TUNE, YOU PROBABLY

DON'T THINK OF AARON RICE.

HE IS THE MAN BEHIND SOME

OF THE MOST POPULAR SONGS

IN CHRISTIAN MUSIC.

THE SONGWRITER SHARES HIS

UNLIKELY TALE WITH "STUDIO

5."

* HERE IS MY HEART, LORD,

MY HEART, LORD *

Efrem: AND HELPING

THE LEAST OF THESE.

SEE THE PROJECT THAT

PROVES MUSIC IS MORE

POWERFUL THAN ANY LANGUAGE

BARRIER.

* I AM YOURS

*

[YELLING]

DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL

GOOD!

* IT IS GOD'S GRACE

*

Efrem: THESE ARE JUST

SOME OF THE SIGHTS AND

SOUNDS OF THE SUNRISE

MUSICAL FESTIVAL ON THE

SHORES OF VIRGINIA BEACH.

IT SETS THE STAGE FOR THIS

WEEK'S "STUDIO 5," WHICH

FEATURES "AMERICAN IDOL"

ALUM JEREMY ROSOTTO.

WELCOME TO THE SHOW.

I'M WEARING MY T-SHIRT

FROM THE GROUP, "CITIZEN

WAY."

WE'VE GOT LOTS TO GET TO

TODAY, SO LET'S GET

STARTED WITH THIS WEEK'S

TOP FIVE FROM "STUDIO 5."

AT NUMBER FIVE: ELIJAH

WOOD IS GETTING REAL ABOUT

CHILD SEX ABUSE IN

HOLLYWOOD.

THE ACTOR OPENS UP ABOUT

HOW WIDESPREAD THE PROBLEM

IS, SAYING IT SHOULD BE

DISCUSSED AND PROPERLY

INVESTIGATED.

WHILE HE HASN'T

EXPERIENCED IT FIRSTHAND,

WOOD SAYS HE WANTED TO

RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE

PROBLEM.

> ON TO NUMBER FOUR:

DAVI DIGS, THE STAR OF

HAMILTON, WENT TO SLEEPING

ON THE SUBWAY TO BECOMING

A BROADWAY STAR.

HE SAID, I KEPT ASKING TO

BE IN THIS THING, TO BE IN

SOMEBODY'S THING, AND YOU

CAN'T DO THAT.

ARTISTS MAKE ART.

AND IF NOBODY IS PUTTING

YOU IN A THING, YOU HAVE

TO MAKE IT YOURSELF.

> ON TO NUMBER THREE: A

SCHOOL IN ARIZONA IS

GETTING SOME ATTENTION FOR

ITS TAKE ON THE HIT SONG

AND DANCE "THE NAY NAY."

IT IS QUITE HILARIOUS.

THE TEACHER SAYS IT IS

IMPORTANT TO TOUCH ON A

WIDE VARIETY OF GENRES

WHEN TEACHING MUSIC.

THIS VIDEO HAS GOTTEN MORE

THAN TWO MILLION VIEWS.

> ON TO NUMBER TWO:

CANDACE CAMERON BURE

CANNOT CATCH A BREAK.

SHE IS NOW BEING

CRITICIZED FOR HER

PERFORMANCE OF "ICE, ICE,

BABY," ON "THE VIEW."

ONE FAN SAID, CANADA'S IS CANDACE IS

SUPPOSED TO BE A

CHRISTIAN.

WHAT IF SHE GOT UP THERE

AND SANG A SPIRITUAL SONG,

WOULD SHE STILL ROCK?

> ON TO NUMBER ONE:

BLAKE SHELTON GOES GOSPEL

ON NATIONAL TELEVISION.

* STAND IN MY SAVIOR'S

SHADOW *

Efrem: HE PERFORMED

HIS NEW SONG, "SAVE YOUR'S

SHADOW," AND THE TRACK

COMES FROM HIS NEW ALBUM,

"IF I'M HONEST," AND THAT

WAS RELEASED EARLIER THIS

MONTH.

* ANY TIME I'M IN MY

SAVIOR'S SHADOW *

Efrem: AND THOSE ARE

THIS WEEK'S TOP FIVE FROM

"STUDIO 5."

AND SPEAKING OF TOP,

JEREMY ROSOTTO ROSE ABOUT

THOUSANDS OF CONTESTANTS

TO LAND ONE OF THE TOP

SPOTS IN "AMERICAN IDOL."

THE YOUNG FLORIDA NATIVE

IS ROUNDING OUT A BUSY

YEAR TRAVELLING THE

COUNTRY, SINGING MUSIC

FROM HIS "HEARTBEAT"

PROJECT.

WE CAUGHT UP WITH HIM FOR

THIS WEEK'S "STUDIO 5"

INTERVIEW.

*

Efrem: JEREMY MAKES A

JOYFUL NOISE ON THIS

VIRGINIA BEACH STAGE.

IT HAS BEEN QUITE THE

JOURNEY.

FROM FRONT-DESK MEDICAL

CLERK TO "AMERICAN IDOL"

STAR AND NOW BONAFIDE

RECORDING ARTIST, WITH AN

ALBUM UNDER HIS BELT.

SO WHEN YOU TOLD YOUR

FAMILY THAT YOU WERE GOING

TO SING AND GO ON

"AMERICA"AMERICAN IDOL" -- AND I

THINK YOU TOLD THEM THAT

LONG BEFORE YOU WENT ON?

YES.

I WAS 10 YEARS OLD WHEN I

SAW "AMERICAN IDOL."

I WAS LITERALLY FLIPPING

THROUGH CHANNELS ONE

NIGHT.

IT WAS PROBABLY 7:00, 8:00

AT NIGHT.

I HEARD RYAN SEACREST

SAYING THE WINNING OF

"AMERICAN IDOL," 2002,

KELLY CLARKSON.

AND I SAW HER WIN.

INSTANTLY I SAID -- I

LITERALLY RAN OUT OF MY

ROOM, SAYING, MA, COME

HERE.

I'M GOING TO DO THIS.

SEEING THE NAME ON THE

BOTTOM, YOU'RE GOING TO

VOTE FOR ME.

I STARTED WATCHING THE

SHOW WITH MY PARENTS.

WE WATCHED IT EVERY SINGLE

TIME IT WAS ON.

I AUDITIONED WHEN I TURNED

16.

I AUDITIONED WHEN I TURNED

17 TWICE.

I AUDITIONED WHEN I TURNED

18.

AND I AUDITIONED WHEN I

TURNED 19.

SO I DID FIVE AUDITIONS

FOR "IDOL."

AND FOR THE FIRST TIME

THEY SAID YES.

SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST

BLESSED WITH THE VOICE OF

GOD.

WHEN THEY OPEN THEIR

MOUTH, THEY AFFECT PEOPLE.

THAT'S YOU.

WHAT WAS THAT?

AMERICA, MEET JEREMY.

JEREMY, MEET AMERICA.

A TENDER MOMENT IN THE

BIG BOOMING VOCALS --

DUDE, I LOVE YOU, MAN.

AFTER ALL OF THIS, WHO

IS YOUR WILDCARD PICK?

I'VE GOT TO SHOW THEM

EVERYTHING I HAVE IN THIS

ONE MOMENT.

I WANT EVERYBODY AT HOME

TO FEEL EVERYTHING I FEEL.

I BELIEVE IN THIS KID.

I BELIEVE IN JEREMY.

I BELIEVE HE HAS ONE OF

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICES

I'VE HEARD IN A LONG TIME.

JEREMY ROSOTTO.

[APPLAUSE]

[CHEERING]

*

Efrem: WHAT HAS LIFE

BEEN LIKE AFTER "AMERICAN

IDOL"?

IT HAS BEEN A FEW YEARS?

IT HAS BEEN A CRAZY

THREE AND A HALF, THREE

AND THREE-QUARTER YEARS.

IT IS -- "AMERICAN IDOL,"

IT REALLY CHANGED UP

EVERYTHING FOR ME.

IT OPENED UP DOORS THAT I

PROBABLY WOULD NEVER HAVE

HAD BEFORE.

IT WASN'T EASY GETTING

SIGNED.

I CAME OFF ONE OF THE

BIGGEST TV SHOWS, PROBABLY

IN THE WORLD.

BUT IT WAS DEFINITELY

HAVING TO WORK

TREMENDOUSLY HARD TO MAKE

IT HAPPEN.

Efrem: YOU'RE ALBUM

HAS BEEN OUT ALMOST A

YEAR?

YEAH, AUGUST.

CRAZY, MAN.

Efrem: HOW DO YOU

FEEL ABOUT IT?

I AM SO BLESSED WITH

THE RECORD.

IT'S CALLED "HEARTBEAT."

IT WAS A LABOR OF LOVE.

I DON'T WANT TO SAY BLOOD,

SWEAT AND TEARS, BECAUSE

THERE NO BLOOD, BUT A LOT

OF SWEET AND TEARS.

Efrem: HOW HAS THE

REALITY COMPARE TO WHAT

YOU HAVE?

OH, MAN, I WANTED TO BE

THE FIRST SPANISH JUSTIN

BIEBER.

BUT GOD HUMBLED ME.

I REMEMBER DOING AN EVENT

WITH PASTOR DONNIE

MCCLURKIN IN NEW YORK

CITY, AND HE WAS

INTERVIEWING ME FOR

SOMETHING AND WE WERE

SPEAKING, AND MY HEART

WASN'T THIS RIGHT HERE.

THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY AFTER

"IDOL," AND IT WAS RIGHT

THERE THAT I REALLY

BELIEVE THE LORD GAVE ME A

WORD.

Efrem: THE WORD FOR

JEREMY CAME FROM PASTOR

AND FELLOW RECORDING

ARTIST DONNIE MCCLURKIN.

DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT HE

SAID?

IT WAS SOMETHING ALONG

THE LINES OF, GOD CALLED

YOU FROM WHEN YOU WERE A

LITTLE BOY.

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AWAY

FROM WHAT YOU KNOW YOU'RE

CALLED TO DO?

JUST RIGHT THERE.

Efrem: WOW.

I KNEW IT WAS THE LORD,

DUDE, SPEAKING.

AND FROM THAT DAY ON, IT

CHANGED EVERYTHING.

THAT WAS TWO AND A HALF

YEARS AGO NOW.

Efrem: THE METHODIST

CHURCH IS CELEBRATING ITS

NO MALARIA INITIATIVE.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE

SINGLE ON AMAZON.

> STILL TO COME ON THIS

SUMMER MUSIC EDITION OF

"STUDIO 5," A MUSIC ROAD

LESS TRAVELLED.

I MOVED TO NASHVILLE TO

BE A BASKETBALL COACH.

EVERYBODY MOVES TO

NASHVILLE FOR THE MUSIC

THING, BUT I MOVED TO BE A

BASKETBALL COACH.

Efrem: THE UNLIKELY

JOURNE FOR THIS

AWARD-WINNING SONGWRITER,

WHO'S MUSIC IS LITERALLY

*

Efrem: THAT IS ONE OF

THE COUNTLESS HITS FROM

THE HANDS AND HEART OF

AARON RICE.

THE AWARD-WINNING

SONGWRITER IS USUALLY A

BEHIND-THE-SCENES KIND OF

GUY.

BUT WE HERE ON "STUDIO 5"

CONVINCED HIM TO TAKE A

SEAT IN FRONT OF THE

CAMERA TO SHARE SOME OF

THE STORIES BEHIND HIS

AMAZING SONGS.

AARON RICE HAS PART TWO OF

THIS WEEK'S "STUDIO 5"

INTERVIEW.

FROM THIS...

*

Efrem: ...TO THIS...

*

* I WANT TO SEE A MIRACLE

COME THROUGH *

Efrem: AND THIS...

* IT SEEMS LIKE YOU'VE

BEEN RUNNING ALL OF YOUR

LIFE *

Efrem: AARON RICE IS

THE MAN BEHIND THE HIT

MUSIC, AND "STUDIO 5"

CAUGHT UP WITH THE DOUBLE

AWARD-WINNING AND GRAMMY

NOMINATED SONGWRITER ON

THE KEYS, PLAYING BACKUP

FOR ONE OF HIS ARTISTS.

"AMERICAN IDOL" ALUM

JEREMY.

IF WE COULD LIST SOME OF

THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE

WRITTEN MUSIC FOR, WE

WOULD HAVE TOBY MACK.

RACHEL LAMPA, HOG

NELSON, OH, WOW,

ATILLER -- I'M ALL OVER

THE PLACE.

Efrem: I WAS SPEAKING

WITH DOLLY PARTON A FEW

WEEKS AGO, AND SHE TELLS

ME SHE HAS WRITTEN AT

LEAST 3,000 SONGS.

HOW MANY DO YOU THINK

YOU'VE WRI WRITTEN?

I HAVE NO IDEA.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN

ARTIST IS SOMETIMES THEY

WRITE FOR THEMSELVES AND

SOMETIMES IT SPILLS OVER.

I'M WRITING PROBABLY FIVE

TO EIGHT SONGS A WEEK.

IT'S A LOT OF SONGS.

Efrem: WHAT WERE YOU

DOING BEFORE YOU WERE ABLE

TO SAY I'M A WRITER AND

PRODUCER.

I WANTED TO BE A

BASKETBALL COACH.

I MOVED TO NASHVILLE TO BE

A BASKETBALL COACH.

EVERYBODY MOVES TO

NASHVILLE TO DO THE MUSIC

THING.

Efrem: A COLLEGE

ROOMMATE CONVINCED AARON

TO KEEP WRITING MUSIC ON

THE SIDE.

AND HIS SIDE HUSTLE HAS

BEEN HIS FULL-TIME GIG FOR

THE PAST 15 YEARS.

ONE OF YOUR COLLABORATIONS

IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE

SONGS, "GOOD MORNING."

NIC YEAH.

Efrem: TO THIS DAY,

IF I WAKE UP AND PLAY

THAT, IT MAKES MY DAY.

* GOOD MORNING, WAKE UP TO

A BRAND NEW DAY *

THAT'S A FUN SONG.

IT DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER

THAN THAT.

MADISA IS GOOD.

SHE KNOWS EXACTLY AT SHE

WANTS TO SAY.

SHE HAS A VERY CLEAR

VISION.

MADISA SAID, I WANT A SONG

THAT MAKES PEOPLE WANT TO

GET UP AND GET ON THE

TREADMILL.

I WANT PEOPLE TO GET UP

AND GET THEIR DAY GOING.

AND, OF COURSE, TOBY AND

MYSELF, WE'RE TOTAL MUSIC

GUYS.

WE'RE, LIKE, THAT DOESN'T

EXIST.

Efrem: YOU WANT THAT

PIZZA.

RIGHT.

I THINK WE WROTE A BUNCH

OF SONGS THAT KIND OF SAID

GOOD MORNING, BUT DIDN'T

SAY GOOD MORNING.

AND SHE WAS, NO, I WANT IT

TO SAY GOOD MORNING.

AND WHEN YOU GET IN A ROOM

WITH SOMEBODY WHO CAN SING

LIKE THAT AND SOMEBODY WHO

CAN WRITE LIKE TOBY, IT

KEEPS GOING.

Efrem: YOU'RE WORKING

ON A KIDS' PROJECT?

IT'S A PROJECT WHERE

WE'VE TAKEN OLD SUNDAY

SCHOOL SONGS THAT I GREW

UP WITH, AND MAKE THEM FIT

IN 2015 AND 2016 MUSIC.

I HAVE A FIVE-YEAR-OLD,

AND I KNOW THAT WORLD.

I KNOW IF I TALK TO HER

ABOUT DEEP AND WIDE, SHE

DOESN'T REALLY KNOW WHAT

THAT MEANS.

SO I TOOK ON THE

CHALLENGE, WHICH WAS VERY

DIFFICULT, OF WRITING

VERSES TO THESE OLD

CHORUSES.

Efrem: STILL TO COME

ON "STUDIO 5," MEET THE

MAN WHO'S MUSIC IS ALSO

HIS MISSION FIELD.

* HERE IS MY HEART, LORD

* MY HEART, LORD

Efrem: AND SEE HOW

RYAN MEADOWS IS REACHING

ORPHANS IN A DISTANT LAND,

WITHOUT EVEN SPEAKING THE

Efrem: IN THIS SUMMER

CONCERT EDITION OF "STUDIO

5," WE'VE SEEN SINGERS AND

SONGWRITERS, LIKE AARON

RICE, USING MUSIC TO MAKE

A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES

OF PEOPLE.

THAT SETS US UP FOR OUR

NEXT MUSIC MAN, PRODUCER

RYAN MEADOWS.

HE IS MAKING MUSIC ON THE

MISSION FIELD AND HELPING

ORGANIZATIONS LIKE

"ORPHANS' PROMISE" TO

CHANGE THE LIVES OF THE

LEAST OF THESE: CHILDREN

WITHOUT PARENTS.

THIS AMAZING C.D. IS THE

FRUIT OF MONTHS OF MONTHS

OF LABOR.

IT IS CALLED "THE HOPE

PROJECT," AND IT'S WHAT IS

PLAYING IN MY EAR.

"ORPHANS' PROMISE" WENT

TO UKRAINE TO UNITE TO

WORLDS, TO MAKE ONE SOUND.

WE WROTE SONGS THAT

REFLECT THE HEART OF

"ORPHANS' PROMISE" AND

ASKED THE KIDS THAT WE

HELPED DAILY TO COME

ALONGSIDE US AND CREATE

MUSIC.

WE TOOK THE VIBRANT

INSTRUMENTS AND SOUNDS OF

UKRAINE AND FUSED THEM

WITH THE SOUND OF OUR

WORSHIP, TO MAKE ONE

JOYFUL NOISE.

TOGETHER WE FOUND OUR

SOUND.

* HERE IS MY HEART, LORD

* MY HEART, LORD

* HERE IS MY HEART

* HERE IS MY HEART

* I AM YOURS

*

WE WANT TO CLOSE THE

DIVIDE BETWEEN THOSE WHO

HAVE MUCH AND THOSE WHO

HAVE LITTLE.

BECAUSE WE ARE ALL

BENEFICIARIES OF THE LOVE

OF GOD.

*

* YES, I DO

Efrem: "THE HOPE"

PROJECT, HOW DID IT START?

TAKE ME BACK TO THE VERY

BEGINNING.

I'VE KNOWN TERRY

MEEUWSEN FOR A LITTLE

WHILE.

I HAD THE IDEA IN MY HEAD,

HOW MUCH FUN WOULD IT BE

TO CREATE A REALLY

INTERACTIVE GIFT FOR

VOLUNTEERS AND DONORS,

SOMETHING THAT EVERYBODY

CAN PHYSICALLY HEAR.

I WENT TO HER AND I TALKED

ABOUT THE IDEA OF CREATING

THE C.D., AND THE IDEA OF

FUSION, WHERE WE TAKE THE

SOUNDS OF WORSHIP HERE IN

AMERICA AND COMBINE IT

WITH THE INSTRUMENTATION

AND THE VOICES OF THE

CHILDREN OVER IN UKRAINE

AND CREATE A PRODUCT THAT

I FELT LIKE WOULD I' IMPACT

PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD.

I WANT TO BE AS PREPARED

AS I CAN BE, SO I SAT DOWN

AND WROTE SONGS I THOUGHT

REFLECTED THE HEART OF

"ORPHANS' PROMISE," WHO

THEY ARE, AND BROUGHT THEM

OVER TO UKRAINE AND

STARTED WORKING ON THEM

WITH THE KIDS.

Efrem: SOME OF THEM

DONATE EVEN SPEAK THE

LANGUAGE, IN TERMS OF

BEING ABLE TO SING THESE

SONGS?

FOR SURE.

WE SENT ALONG LYRICS FOR

ALL OF THE KIDS, AND THE

TEACHERS WERE STRESSED

OUT, SAYING THAT SOME OF

THE KIDS CAN'T EVEN READ.

I WOULD SING A LINE, AND

THEY WOULD SING IT BACK TO

ME.

YOU COULD SORT OF MOVE

BEYOND THE WORDS AND YOU

COULD TAP MORE INTO THE

FEELING AND THE SOUND.

Efrem: TAKE ME THERE.

WHAT WERE YOU FEELING AND

SEEING IN THE KIDS AS

YOU'RE WORKING WITH THEM?

CONFIDENCE.

WHEN WE FIRST CAME IN,

THEY WERE EXTREMELY SHY

AND NERVOUS.

JUST LIKE MOST KIDS WOULD

BE, BUT EVEN MORE SO

THERE, THE COMMUNITY WE

WORKED WITH WAS A GYPSY

COMMUNITY, WHICH WAS AN

OUTCAST COMMUNITY WITHIN

UKRAINE.

THE TEACHERS SAW THAT THE

KIDS -- AFTER WE LEFT --

REALLY ENJOYED SINGING AND

DEVELOPING THAT TALENT.

THEY ENDED UP TRYING TO

TAKE THEM TO A MUSIC

SCHOOL TO GET FURTHER

TRAINING.

AND BECAUSE THEY WERE

GYPSY CHILDREN, THEY WERE

REJECTED.

WE DID AN EVENT LAST

FRIDAY TO SAY, FORGET THAT

SCHOOL.

WE'LL REACH OUT AND TAKE

YOU FURTHER.

Efrem: HOW LONG WAS

THIS PROCESS?

WE STARTED IN JULY OF

LAST YEAR, AND I THINK WE

WERE DONE BY NOVEMBER.

SO IT WAS -- IT WAS REAL

RELATIVELY QUICK FOR HOW

LARGE SCALE IT IS.

WE DID HALF OF THE

PRODUCTION OVER IN

UKRAINE, AND HALF BACK

HERE IN THE STUDIO WITH

SOME DRUMS AND ELECTRIC

GUITARS.

AND ALL OF THE WRITING WAS

RELATIVELY QUICK BECAUSE

WE HAD SUCH AN AWESOME

TEAM.

Efrem: WOULD YOU DO

THIS AGAIN?

YEAH, WE ARE.

IT HAS BEEN AWESOME.

WE'RE GOING BACK TO KENYA

THIS YEAR.

WHICH IS REALLY, REALLY

EXCITING FOR ME.

IT IS SOMETHING WHERE I

GET TO HAVE A LITTLE MORE

HANDS-ON, AND INTERACTING

WITH THE TEAM.

TRYING TO FIND SOME KIDS

WE WANT TO WORK WITH.

WE HAVE A LITTLE MORE OF A

VISION OF HOW WE WANT TO

CREATE THIS PROJECT.

SO IT IS GOING TO BE A

REALLY, REALLY FUN

PROJECT.

Efrem: NEXT UP ON

"STUDIO 5," THE SUMMER

CONCERT CONTINUES WITH

MUSIC.

*

* WHEN I'M WITH YOU, I

FEEL THE SPIRIT *

Efrem: AND A MESSAGE

FROM THE LEAD SINGER OF

THE GROUP "CITIZEN WAY."

WE LOST OUR SON LAST

SUMMER, AND I NEVER CRIED

SO HARD IN MY LIFE.

I REMEMBER PUTTING THE

SHOVEL AWAY AFTER WE

Efrem: IT'S BEEN AN

HONOR TO BRING YOU THIS

SUMMER CONCERT EDITION OF

"STUDIO 5."

BUT AS THE SHOW BEGINS TO

WRAP, WE'RE GEARING UP TO

BRING YOU MORE UPLIFTING

ENTERTAINMENT NEWS NEXT

WEEK.

HERE IS A PREVIEW OF

WHAT'S IN THE WORKS.

YOU'VE SEEN HIM IN "COOL

RUNNING."

LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND

TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE.

Efrem: AND YOU'VE

SEEN HIM ON THE HIT SHOW

"EMPIRE."

YOU'RE SUPPOSED T TO PAY

THE MAN.

Efrem: BUT YOU REALLY

NEED TO SEE MALIK IN

"STUDIO 5" TO TELL THE

UNUSUAL STORY OF WHY HE

WAS KICKED OUT OF THE

HOUSE AT JUST 16.

THEY CAUGHT ME DOING

SOME THINGS, NONE LEGAL.

Efrem: FOR NOW, I'M A

FAN OF "CITIZEN WAY," AND

I'M WEARING ONE OF THEIR

T-SHIRTS FOR THIS SUMMER

CONCERT SHOW, SO I WOULD

LIKE TO GIVE THE FINAL

WORD TO THE GROUP'S

LEADER, BEN CALHOUN.

HE ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO DO

IN LIFE WHAT HE DOES IN

MUSIC: SPEAK FROM THE

HEART.

IF WE'RE HONEST, THEN

THE RANGE OF EMOTIONS ARE

AND SHOULD BE IN OUR

SONGS.

* WHEN I'M WITH YOU

*

* IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU,

JESUS *

"WHEN I'M WITH YOU" IS

OUR LATEST SONG ON THE

RADIO.

IT IS A SONG ABOUT WHEN WE

LOST OUR SON LAST SUMMER.

I NEVER CRIED SO HARD IN

MY LIFE.

I REMEMBER PUTTING MY

SHOVEL AWAY AFTER WE

BURIED HIM, AND WE HELD

HIM IN OUR HANDS.

THE HOLY SPIRIT JUST SAID

QUIETLY, IT'S OKAY.

YOU CAN MOVE ON.

I'VE GOT HIM.

* THERE IS NO NEED FOR

WALLS *

* YOU SEE RIGHT THROUGH

EVERY HURT, EVERY SCAR,

EVERY SECRET *

SO THAT'S IS JUST

HEART-FELT, AND SO I WRONG

ABOUT IT.

"EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE

AND IT'S NOT OKAY, BUT

IT'S NICE TO KNOW I CAN

COME THIS WAY," THAT'S

WHEN I WROTE.

AND HE MET ME THERE.

Efrem: GOD IS,

INDEED, ALWAYS WAITING TO

MEET US AT HIS THRONE OF

GRACE.

UNTIL NEXT TIME, REACH OUT

AND TOUCH ME AT EFREM

GRAHAM ON INSTAGRAM,

Facebook, AND TWITTER,

AND THEN COME ON BACK AND

SEE WHERE "STUDIO 5" TAKES

YOU NEXT WEEK.
