Let's do bring it on.

OK, let's bring it on.

Let's bring it on with Wendy.

Wendy, why do you like luxury?

Grace.

This is a good question from Grace.

OK, we're going to bring it on.

Grace says--

GORDON: All right, we've got to get serious now.

WENDY: Why didn't God save the French priest

from getting his throat slit while he

was leading mass in his church?

I have recently given my life to Christ,

and the incident makes me scared to go to church.

I thought that church was a safe place.

This latest incident has shaken my faith.

GORDON: Ah, Grace, here's an answer for you,

and it comes out of my experience.

I was with a group of missionaries

in a restricted-access country, and they were mourning.

Somebody had just been arrested for preaching the Gospel,

literally for carrying a load of Bibles.

And I pray, Why?

Why do people face arrest?

And in that situation, we knew that they

were going to be beaten.

They were going to be interrogated.

And your heart goes out.

You're grieving.

God led me into some wonderful verses.

And if you want to read them, you'll find them in Romans 8,

and it's verses 36 through 37.

And Paul is talking about the persecution

that the church was going through,

and would continue to go through.

And he said, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

We are killed all day long.

But in all of these things, we are

more than conquerors through the love of Christ given to us.

If you think church is a safe place, think again.

The Gospel is a radical message.

And in that radical message, people

turn against those who preach it.

And you are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

But you need to keep in mind, it's not

the safety of the church building,

it's not physical safety-- it's the safety of His love.

Then Paul goes on, I am fully persuaded that neither death

nor life-- then he says principalities

and powers, things to come, things-- all of these things.

Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ.

So in all of this terrorism that we're experiencing in the world

today, in all of the incredible rise of violence,

let us keep heed to Jesus' words of warning-- The love of many

will grow cold.

Let's keep our love fervent.

Let's keep preaching the Gospel, because in that we become more

than conquerors.

Realize that priest was a conqueror in his death,

because he continued to love.

We leave you these words from Psalm 34-- "Taste

and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one

who takes refuge in Him."
