Shouldn't we just follow the Ten Commandments to live a good life? I feel some days that I have lost or weakened my Holy Spirit. Pat, where in the Bible does it say that sinners will be in hell forever? I Read Transcript

OK, we have some questions.

We do.

But let's start with Michael.

He writes, he says, my wife and I have started

to watch your show daily.

Thanks, Michael.

Well, we find it enlightening, but we

are trying to understand the Bible,

and are finding that difficult. Shouldn't we

just follow the Ten Commandments to live a good life?

Well, dear friend, you can't just

follow the Ten Commandments, because your nature won't

let you do it.

We are sinners by nature, and you have to be born again.

And Jesus said, here are the commandments.

You know, you love one another, you

love God, and love each other.

That's the whole purpose of the law.

But at the same time, there are rules in the Bible

that teach us Godly living, Godly principles,

and it's well worth reading it, and following it.

OK?

Amen.

All right, Lisa says, I was raised in a Christian home,

always believing, praying, and thanking God.

I have slipped several times and committed many sins.

As an adult I am trying to strengthen my relationship

with the Lord, but I just don't feel close to Him anymore.

I feel some days that I have lost or weakened

my Holy Spirit.

Please help.

Look, let me recommend this to you.

You know, the Bible says our sins have separated us

from God, and sometimes it's like the sky

is bronzed above us.

The Bible says, break up your fallow ground

that the Lord might come and rain righteousness on you.

I recommend that you spend time and just break it up.

I mean, come before the Lord and stop playing games.

You've sinned?

All right.

Sex sins-- OK.

Sex sins.

Drunks sins-- thieving, stealing sins.

I don't know what you've sinned in, but sin is sin.

So come before the Lord-- you didn't sin overall,

you sinned individually, so confess it individually.

Get right before the Lord, tear out your heart before the Lord,

and say, I've sinned, Father.

Forgive me.

And thou cleanse me and make me whole.

And watch what happens.

It'll be wonderful for you.

All right.

All right, Bill says Pat, where in the Bible

does it say that sinners will be in hell forever?

I meet a lot of Christians who state that unbelievers do not

stay in hell forever, but I cannot find it in God's Word

that all the unbelievers will burn forever.

Read in the Book of Revelation.

It's there very clearly.

And there are other places too, you know?

The fire is not quenched, the warm does not die.

It's horrible, you know, a place of-- Gehenna

was the place of eternal burning.

It's very clearly in the Gospels,

it's also look in the Book of Revelation.

Well, I guess that's all the time we've got.

Thank you for being here.

Well, it's been fun.

It's been a pleasure as always, and great answers.

Thank you.

Well, we leave you with today's Power Minute from Psalms, 119.

Great peace have those who love your law,

and nothing causes them to stumble.
