Efrem: AHEAD ON

"NEWSWATCH," NEW POLLS

SHOW DONALD TRUMP AND

HILLARY CLINTON RUNNING

NECK-AND-NECK.

PLUS, UP CLOSE AND

PERSONAL WITH DONALD

TRUMP'S CAMPAIGN MANAGER,

KELLYANN CONAWAY.

WHY SHE TELLS CBN NEWS SHE

WAS PRACTICALLY BORN A

CHRISTIAN.

> AND WHY THESE

MISSIONARIES TO ALASKA SAY

IT IS JUST LIKE GOING TO A

FOREIGN COUNTRY.

AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR

JOINING US FOR CBN

"NEWSWATCH."

I'M EFREM GRAHAM.

THE ELECTION IS EXACTLY

ONE WEEK AWAY, AND WITH

POLLS TIGHTENING, THE

CANDIDATES ARE PUSHING

FULL SPEED AHEAD.

THE NOVEMBER 8th RACE

HAS BECOME EVEN MORE

UNCERTAIN AS FEDERAL

INVESTIGATORS BEGIN

SEARCHING THROUGH NEWLY

DISCOVERED E-MAILS

BELONGING TO CLINTON'S TOP

AIDE.

Reporter: THE F.B.I.

IS COMBING OVER THOUSANDS

OF E-MAILS ON THE COMPUTER

OF ANTHONY WEINER.

HE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION

FOR ALLEGEDLY SEXTING AN

UNDERAGE GIRL, AND SOME OF

HIS E-MAILS ENDED UP ON

HIS ESTRANGED WIFE'S

COMPUTER.

THE RACE FOR THE WHITE

HOUSE HAS TIGHTENED

DRAMATICALLY IN THE LAST

SEVERAL DAYS.

THE GAP WAS CLOSING EVEN

BEFORE FRIDAY'S NEWS THAT

THE F.B.I. WOULD REOPEN

THE INVESTIGATION INTO

CLINTON'S E-MAILS.

BUT NOW THE RACE IS

VIRTUALLY A DEAD HEAT.

EVEN THOUGH THE POLLS ARE

CLOSE, CLINTON STILL HAS

AN APPARENT ADVANTAGE IN

THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE, SO

BOTH CANDIDATES ARE

HITTING KEY SWING STATES,

WHERE THE ELECTION WILL

LIKELY BE DECIDED.

CLINTON SOUNDING DEFIANT

ABOUT THE E-MAIL

CONTROVERSY.

I'M SURE A LOT OF YOU

MAY BE ASKING WHAT THIS

NEW E-MAIL STORY IS ABOUT

WHY IN THE WORLD THE

F.B.I. WOULD DECIDE TO

JUMP INTO AN ELECTION WITH

NO EVIDENCE OF ANY

WRONG-DOING WITH JUST DAYS

TO GO.

THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION.

Reporter: CAMPAIGNING

IN MICHIGAN, DONALD TRUMP

KEPT HIS FOCUS ON

CLINTON'S LATEST

CONTROVERSY.

THE CLINTON CRIME SPREE

ENDS ON NOVEMBER 8th.

IT'S GOING TO END ON

NOVEMBER 8th.

Reporter: AND CLINTON

COULD FACE MORE PROBLEMS

IN THE DAYS AHEAD.

WikiLEAKS ARE SAID TO

RELEASE MORE HACKED

E-MAILS RELATED TO THE

PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN.

AND WikiLEAKS HAS

ALREADY CAUSED ANOTHER

PROBLEM.

CNN DROPPED FORMER ANALYST

DONNA BRAZIL AFTER SHE

GAVE SOME OF THE QUESTIONS

TO THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN

BEFORE THE DEBATE.

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT EFFECT

THE INVESTIGATION OR THE

WIWikiLEAKS RELEASES WOULD

HAVE BEFORE THE ELECTION

DAY.

IT COULD BE AS

UNPREDICTABLE AS THE

ENTIRE CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN

SO FAR THIS YEAR.

CHARLENE AARON, CBN NEWS.

Efrem: THE LATEST

REVELATIONS HAVE CHANGED

THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE AND

THEY'VE LED TO NEW

CHALLENGES FOR BOTH

COMPAIGNS.

AT THE TOP OF TRUMP'S

LINEUP IS HIS RIGHT HAND

AND CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

CBN'S JENNA BROWDER SAT

DOWN WITH KELLYANN CONAWAY

LAST WEEK FOR THIS

INTERVIEW.

Reporter: DONALD

TRUMP MAKES THE HEADLINES,

SOME GOOD, SOME BAD.

ARE YOU CALLING HIM A

LIAR?

WE'RE TAKING HIS WORD

FOR IT.

Reporter: AND SHE IS

RIGHT BY HIS SIDE.

CAMPAIGN MANAGER KELLYANN

CONWAY.

SHE IS QUICK TO POINT OUT

THESE APPEARANCES ONLY KIM

THE SURFACE OF HER

RESPONSIBILITY AND WHO SHE

IS.

> TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT

YOUR FAITH JOURNEY.

MY FAITH JOURNEY

STARTED THE DAY I WAS

CONCEIVED, THE DAY I WAS

BORN BECAUSE I WAS BORN

INTO A VERY RELIGIOUS

FAMILY WHERE GOD AND FAITH

AND FAMILY WERE THE MOST

IMPORTANT TO US.

I WAS RAISED BY A SINGLE

MOM.

MY FATHER LEFT WHEN I WAS

ABOUT TWO OR THREE.

AND MY MOM WAS ONE OF FOUR

GIRLS, THE YOUNGEST OF

FOUR SISTERS.

EVERYTHING WE DID, WE

ALWAYS INVOKED GOD.

WE ALWAYS SAID A BLESSING

TO EACH OTHER, TO THOSE IN

NEED.

WE WERE ON OUR KNEES TO

PRAY.

Reporter: HOW HAS

THIS CAMPAIGN TESTEDED

YOUR FAITH.

IF MY FAITH WAS TESTED

AT ALL, IS HE WAS REALLY

TREATED REALLY UNFAIRLY.

HE WAS PERSECUTED IN A WAY

THAT IS INCREDIBLY UNFAIR.

THE MEDIA SUFFERS FROM A

LACK OF PORTION CONTROL

WHEN IT COMES TO NEGATIVE

THINGS BEING THROWN AT

DONALD TRUMP.

I BELIEVE THE VOTERS

BELIEVE TO HAVE A FREE AND

OPEN PRESS AND THEY EXPECT

AND INDEED MERIT A REAL

CONVERSATION ON THE

ISSUES.

KATE McKENNAN PLACED YOU PLAYS YOU

REALLY WELL.

SHE HAS GOT IT DOWN,

BUT WITH A BAD HAIR DAY.

I THOUGHT IT WAS DONE

PRETTY AFFECTIONATELY AND

FLATTERINGLY.

I INVITE HER TO COME AND

VISIT OUR CRAZY HOUSEHOLD

SO SHE CAN SEE FOR

HERSELF.

Reporter: WHEN SHE IS

NOT ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL,

SHE AND HER HUSBAND ARE

BUSY RAISING FOUR KIDS,

ALL UNDER THE AGE OF 12.

I ASKED HER WHAT IT IS

REALLY LIKE WORKING WITH

ALL OF THE TRUMPS.

THE TRUMP FAMILY ARE

JUST AN AMAZING GROUP OF

PEOPLE.

THEY'RE AN AMAZING FAMILY.

THEY'RE SO SUPPORTIVE OF

EACH OTHER AND SO VERY

MUCH THE PRODUCT OF THEIR

FATHER, AND ALSO THEIR

FATHER.

BUT SO MUCH A PRODUCT OF

THEIR FATHER.

COME NOVEMBER 9th, NO

MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WITH

THE ELECTION, WHAT IS NEXT

FOR YOU?

WELL, WE'RE GOING TO

WIN.

I WILL BE HONORED IF

DONALD TRUMP AND MIKE

PENCE EX M ASK ME TO HELP FORM

THE NEXT GOVERNMENT.

I WOULD FEEL COMPELLED TO

SERVE IN THAT CAPACITY, OF

COURSE.

Reporter: BUT FOR

NOW, SHE HAS HER HANDS

FULL, GUIDING TRUMP TO WIN

THE WHITE HOUSE.

Efrem: MISSISSIPPI

GOVERNOR PHIL BRYANT ASKED

THE COURT TO UPHOLD A LAW

THAT PROTECTS RELIGIOUS

BELIEFS, INSTEAD OF BEING

FORCED TO PROVIDE SERVICES

TO SAME-SEX COUPLES.

CARLTON RECEIVES BLOCKED

THE LAW BEFORE IT COULD

TAKE EFFECT.

HE SAYS, QUOTE,"THE LAW

GIVES THE OPPONENTS OF

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE THE SAME

PROTECTIONS THAT FEDERAL

LAW CONFERS ON THE

OPPONENTS OF WARFARE,

ABORTION, CAPITAL

PUNISHMENT, AND

PHYSICIAN-ASSISTED

SUICIDE."

> I WANT TO TURN

OVERSEAS.

IRAQI FORCES HAVE ENTERED

THE EASTERN OUTSKIRTS OF

MOSUL FOR THE FIRST TIME

IN THE BATTLE TO DRIVE OUT

ISIS.

AND THE TROOPS ARE

ADVANCING AS FIGHTING

CONTINUES.

TROOPS OPENED UP WITH

ARTILLERY TANK AND MACHINE

GUNFIRE ON THE TERRORIST

POSITIONS ON THE EDGE OF A

GOJALI NEIGHBOURHOOD.

IRAQI FORCES AND THE

KURDISH ALLIES, SUNNI

TRIBES MAN AND SHI'ITE

MALITIAS HAVE BEEN

ADVANCING, TRYING TO DRIVE

OUT ISIS FROM IRAQ'S

SECOND LARGEST CITY.

> FOR THE FIRST TIME IN

CENTURIES, RESEARCHERS

HAVE UNCOVERED WHAT IS

BELIEVED TO BE JESUS'

EMPTY TOMB INSIDE THE HOLY

CHURCH OF THE SEPULCHER.

CHRIS MITCHELL TAKES US

WHERE A MAJOR RESTORATION

IS UNDER WAY INSIDE THE

FOURTH CENTURY CHURCH.

Chris: THIS NATIONAL

GEOGRAPHIC VIDEO SHOWS

WORKMEN UNCOVERING THE

MARBLE SLAB OVER AND THE

TOMB.

AS THE VIDEO SAYS, THE

MODEST TOMB HAS NEVER

BEFORE BEEN PHOTOGRAPHED,

AND NO DRAWINGS EXIST.

IT REPORTED THAT

CONSERVATIONALISTS WERE

SURPRISED TO FIND

SOMETHING THEIR

INSTRUMENTS DIDN'T DETECT,

A LAYER OF DEBRIS UNDER

THE MARBLE COVER.

AND UNDERNEATH THAT, THEY

FOUND ANOTHER MARBLE SLAB

WITH A CROSS CARVED INTO

THE SURFACE.

EMPEROR CON CONSTANTIN ORDERED

IT.

THE ROMAN HADRON IN THE

SECOND CENTURY BUILT A

FORTRESS HERE, AND THEY

SAID HE DID IT TO COVER

THE TOMB WHERE JESUS IS

BURIED.

WORKERS ARE PREPARING THE

CONSTRUCTION KNOWN AS THE

EDACULE, WHICH MEANS

LITTLE HOUSE.

THE LAST REPAIR WORK DONE

ON THE EDACULE TOOK PLACE

THIS PROFESSOR LEADS THE

RESTORATION, AND TOLD CBN

NEWS EARLIER THIS YEAR

ABOUT THE PROJECT.

WE WILL REMOVE THE

MARBLE SLAB, THE STONE

SLAB.

WE WILL INJECT GROUT.

IT IS A COMPLEX STRUCTURE.

THAT MEANS THAT WE DEVELOP

A UNIFIED INFRASTRUCTURE,

THAT ALL OF THE LAYERS

WILL BEHAVE STRUCTURALLY

AS ONE.

AND AFTER REPAIRING IT

WITH NEW COMPOSITE AND

MORTAR, WE WILL RE-ADJUST

THE SOLE SLABS.

Chris: FOR THE

WORKERS, IT IS MORE THAN A

JOB.

THIS MAN IS A GREEK CIVIL

ENGINEER.

I'M VERY EXCITED.

BECAUSE I AM WORKING I ON

THIS AND THERE ARE MOMENTS

LIKE THIS -- BUT THIS IS

SPECIALIZED WORK, VERY

SPECIALIZED WORK.

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT I CAN

GO TO SOMETHING BETTER

THAN THAN THIS.

WE'RE PROUD OF THE HOLY

TOMB.

IT SHOWS THE VALUES OF THE

HOLY TOMB.

IT GIVES THE MESSAGE OF

RESURRECTION.

Chris: NATIONAL

GEOGRAPHIC PLANS TO SHOW

MORE OF ITS FOOTAGE THIS

MONTH ON ITS EXPLORER

CHANNEL.

THE RESTORATION SHOULD BE

COMPLETED SOME TIME NEXT

YEAR.

CHRIS MITCHELL, CBN NEWS,

THE CHURCH OF THE HOL HOLE

SEPULCHER, JERUSALEM.

Efrem: POPE FRANCIS

TRAVELLED TO SWEDEN TO

MEET WITH THE PRESIDENT OF

THE LUTHERAN WORLD

FEDERATION.

THE TWO LEADERS SIGNED A

JOINT STATEMENT TO IMPROVE

RELATIONS BETWEEN

CATHOLICS AND LUTHERANS.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A

POPE HAS COMMEMORATEED

MARTIN LUT LUTHER REVOLT.

> A GOSPEL SINGING

MINISTER IS RIO DE

JANEIRO'S NEWEST MAYOR.

HE IS A PROMINENT PASTOR.

BRAZIL IS THE LARGEST

ROMAN CATHOLIC NATION, BUT

IT NOW ACCOUNTS FOR ONE

FIFTH OF THE COUNTRY'S

POPULATION.

THEY SAY HIS WIN IS A SIGN

OF WIDESPREAD FRUSTRATION

WITH THE COUNTRY'S

LEFT-WING POLITICS, AND A

NEW SEARCH OF EVANGELISM.

A NEW SURVEY SHOWS THAT

THE EVANGELICAL CHURCHES

ARE SOME OF THE FASTEST

GROWING IN THE COUNTRY.

MANY HOPE THIS MAYOR WILL

BRING CHRISTIAN VALUES

BACK INTO THE GOVERNMENT.

> AND STILL TO COME HERE

ON CBN "NEWSWATCH," A

CHURCH WITH A

CONTROVERSIAL OUTREACH.

A GUN RANGE OUT BACK, BUT

IS IT SUCH A GOOD IDEA TO

CONNECT GOSPEL AND GUNS?

Efrem: TALK ABOUT

GUNS AND THE SECOND

GUNS AND THE SECOND

AMENDMENT IN A CROWD, AND

SPARKS ARE SURE TO FLY.

AND WHAT IF THE CHURCH

GETS BROUGHT UP I THAT

CONVERSATION?

THAT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW

YOU LOOK AT THE ISSUE.

PAUL STRAND TAKES US TO

JENISSON, ALABAMA, WHERE

ONE CONGREGATION BELIEVES

GOD AND GUNS CAN GO

TOGETHER.

Reporter: THIS CHURCH

IN RUSTIC ALABAMA HOLDS A

SURISE OUT BACK.

HERE IS SOMETHING YOU

DON'T SEE EVERY DAY: A

CHURCH WITH A GUN RANGE.

BUT ACCORDING TO CHURCH

MEMBER CHARLOTTE POWELL,

IT WASN'T ALWAYS THIS WAY.

OUR CHURCH HAD THIS

HUGE HOLE IN THE BACK.

Reporter: THE PASTOR

FELT IT WAS NOT ONLY AN

EYE SORE, BUT ALSO KIND OF

DANGEROUS.

A LARGE GULLY BEHIND

THE CHURCH THAT WAS FILLED

WITH CUDZU AND VERMON AND

SNAKES.

AND MY HUSBAND SAID,

TOO BAD WE COULDN'T PUT A

GUN RANGE BACK THERE, AND

THE IDEA BEGAN.

I LIKE THE UNIQUENESS

OF IT.

Reporter: YES,

REACHING PEOPLE THROUGH A

GUN RANGE AND IT IS

WORKING.

MANY FLOCK TO TRAIN AND

SHOOT HERE.

NOT EVERYONE LOVES THE

IDEA, HOWEVER.

WE HAVE NAY-SAYERS WHO

SAY THERE IS SOMETHING

WRONG, AND WE'RE A BUNCH

OF GUN-TOTING,

RED-NECK-TYPE FOLKS.

I KNOW PEOPLE WILL FIND IT

DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND

THAT WE'RE MIXING GOD AND

GUNS AT OUR CHURCH.

THEY MUST REMEMBER OUR

CONSTITUENCONSTITUENCY HERE.

WE'RE A RURAL AREA, AND

EVERYONE HAS GUNS.

Reporter: THIS

REVEREND EXPRESSED HIS

ANTI-GUN STANCE.

THERE IS A DEEP, MORAL,

AND ETHICAL ISSUE HERE,

AND THAT IS WHEN IS A

CHRISTIAN PERMITTED TO

KILL ANOTHER HUMAN BEING,

AND UNDER WHAT

CIRCUMSTANCES?

AND ANY CHURCH THAT IS

GOING TO INTRODUCE

FIREARMS INTO THE LIFE OF

THAT CHURCH HAS TO ADDRESS

THAT QUESTION.

Reporter: BUT THERE

IS NO QUESTION THIS UNIQUE

OUTREACH IS GETTING

RESULTS.

THREE WEEKS AGO, WE HAD

FIVE DIFFERENT CHURCHES

THAT CAME IN AND HAD A GUN

SAFETY CLASS.

WE HAD PEOPLE SHOW UP

HERE THAT WOULD NOT DARKEN

THE DOORS OF ANY TYPICAL

CHURCH.

WE SEE THIS AS AN

EVANGELISTIC OPPORTUNITY.

NOT EVERYBODY YOU WANT

TO MEET WITH THE MESSAGE

OF CHRIST IS GOING TO WALK

IN THE CHURCH DARRYL.

BUDOOR.

BUT THERE IS A CHANCE IF

YOU'VE GOT SOMETHING

UNIQUE THAT THEY LIKE,

THEY'LL COME TO SEE AND

PERHAPS HAVE AN

OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR JUST

EXACTLY ABOUT THE SAVING

GRACE.

Reporter: FOR SHANK,

IT APPEARS TO BE ABOUT

CONSISTENCY OF A LIFE

MESSAGE.

IF WE'RE PRO-LIFE AND

PRESPECT THE SANCTITY OF

ALL HUMAN LIFE, THEN WE

PROBABLY SHOULDN'T USE

TRAINING TO KILL AS A

FIRST STEP IN INTRODUCING

THE GOSPEL.

Reporter: THE NEW

SHOOTER, DEANNA VAN, USES

IT FOR A PROTECTION

REASON.

IF SOMEONE BREAKS INTO

YOUR HOUSE, WHAT ARE YOU

GOING TO DO, HIT THEM WITH

A BROOM?

THE PEOPLE HERE ARE THE

SALT OF THE EARTH.

THEY'RE NOT INTERESTED IN

USING GUNS IN VIOLENT

WAYS.

HOWEVER, THEY RECOGNIZE AS

WELL THAT THERE ARE TIMES

WHEN WEAPONS MUST BE USED.

Reporter: THE

PASTOR'S TEEN SON, PHILIP,

AGREES, LIKE WHEN IT COMES

TO DEFENDING YOUR LOVED

ONES.

I WOULD TAKE A BULLET

FOR ANY OF MY FAMILY.

JESUS LAID DOWN HIS

LIFE FOR US, AND WE'RE

HERE TO PROTECT OUR LIVES

FOR HIM.

Reporter: SHANK

DOESN'T SEE THE GOSPEL AND

GUNS GOING TOGETHER.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT

WEAPONS THAT ARE DESIGNED

TO KILL.

WHEN YOU TRY TO USE THAT

AS A FORM OF EXPRESSING

THE LOVE OF GOD FOR HUMAN

NALITY, YOU MIGHT HAVE A

CONFLICT THERE.

Reporter: BUT VANCE

POINTS OUT KEEPING GOOD

GUNS FROM GOOD PEOPLE

ISN'T GOING TO KEEP THE

CRIME OUT.

I LOVE MY SECOND

AMENDMENT.

IF YOU TRY TO TAKE AWAY MY

GUNS, THAT RIDICULOUS.

Reporter: THE PASTOR

ADMITS SOME FELLOW

METHODISTS HAVE GIVEN HIM

GUFF OVER THE GUN RANGE,

BUT CERTAINLY NOT ALL.

ONE OF THE INDIVIDUALS

THAT CAME HERE AS A UNITED

METHODIST TOLD ME SHE

WISHED ALL OF THE CHURCHES

HAD A CHURCH LIKE THIS.

Reporter: IT HAS

BROUGHT THEM A LOT OF

ATTENTION HERE AND MANY

CHANCES TO MINISTER.

PAUL STRAND, CBN NEWS,

REPORTING FROM GENISON,

ALABAMA.

Efrem: UP NEXT, IT IS

TWICE THE SIZE OF TEXAS,

BUT HAS FEWER ROADS THAN

RHODE ISLAND.

WHILE BRINGING THE GOSPEL

TO ALASKA IS SUCH A

CHALLENGE, AND HAS ONE

GROUP WITH A MISSION TO

HELP MISSIONARIES.

Efrem: FAMILIES

ACROSS THE U.S. AND EVEN

ABROAD ARE ANSWERING THE

CALL TO THE MISSION FIELD

IN A PLACE YOU NIGHT NEVER

THINK OF, ALASKA.

IT IS NOT AN EASY

ASSIGNMENT, AND MANY

PEOPLE CAN BE OVERWHELMED

BY THE SPIRITUAL AND

PHYSICAL CHALLENGES OF

LIVING IN REMOTE VILLAGES.

AS CAITLIN BURKE REPORTS,

ONE MINISTRY IS STEPPING

UP TO SUPPORT THOSE CALLED

TO THE STATE KNOWN AS THE

LAST FRONTIER.

Reporter: ALASKA IS

BY FAR THE LARGEST STATE

IN THE NATION, AND MUCH OF

IT IS LAND WHERE NO ONE

CAN LIVE.

YOU'RE LOOKING AT A

STATE THAT IS MORE THAN

TWICE THE SIZE OF TEXAS

THAT HAS FEWER ROADS THAN

THE SMALLEST STATE IN THE

COUNTRY.

Reporter: THERE ARE

NEARLY 225 REMOTE VILLAGES

HERE, ACCESSIBLE ONLY BY

BOAT.

ALTHOUGH MISSIONARIES AND

CHURCH PLANNERS FIRST

TRAVELLED TO ALASKA IN THE

LATE 1800, FEW INDIGENOUS

EVANGELICAL CHURCHES EXIST

TODAY.

AS A RESULT, INTERNATIONAL

CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATIONS

CONTINUE TO SEND

MISSIONARIES TO REACH

PEOPLE IN THESE REMOTE

AREAS.

COMING TO ALASKA IS

LIKE GOING TO A FOREIGN

COUNTRY.

IT TAKES TWO DAYS OF

TRAVEL OFTEN TO GET OUT TO

THE VILLAGES.

AND YOU GET THERE AND THEY

KEEP THEIR OLD LANGUAGE.

IT IS LIKE BEING IN

ANOTHER COUNTRY.

Reporter:

UNFORTUNATELY, THESE

MISSIONARIES ARE OFTEN

UNPREPARED,

UNDERSUPPORTED, AND

OVERWHELMED BY THE

CHALLENGES OF LIVING IN

REMOTE ALASKA.

THEY COME TRAINED FOR

THAT POSITION, BUT WHAT

THEY'RE NOT PREPARED FOR

IS THE ISOLATION.

Reporter: MIKE AND

RENATA WORK WITH ARCTIC

BARNABIS, A MINISTRY THAT

COMES IN AND SHARES THE

GOSPEL.

OUR MISSION IN TWO

WORDS IS: STRENGTHEN AND

ENCOURAGE.

WE WANT TO STRENGTHEN AND

ENCOURAGE THOSE PASTORS

AND MINISTRY FAMILIES THAT

ARE OUT IN THOSE REMOTE

VILLAGES SO THEY CAN BE

AFFECTIVE EVANGELISTS ON

THE FRONT LINES.

Reporter: THEY OFFER

VITAL SUPPORT AND

ENCOURAGEMENT.

OUR BIGGEST GOAL IS TO

SIMPLY COME ALONGSIDE

THEM, STRENGTHEN THEM,

ENCOURAGE THEM, AND HAVE

FELLOWSHIP WITH THEM.

BUT SOMETIMES OUR FOOT IN

THE DOOR IS A PROJECT OF

HELPING THEM WITH

SOMETHING.

Reporter: IN THIS

VILLAGE, AN INDIGENOUS

PASTOR WILL LEAD THE

CHURCH, BUT NOT UNTIL THE

PARSONAGE RECEIVES SOME

MUCH-NEEDED RENOVATIONS.

CHURCH ELDERS CALLED

ARCTIC BARNIBIS.

THEY ADDRESSED MOLD, POOR

INSULATION, AND OTHER

ISSUES OFTEN CAUSED BY THE

EXTREME WEATHER IN THE

BUSH.

HOW DO YOU FOCUS ON

DOING MINISTRY WHEN LIVING

CONDITIONS ARE YOUR

PRIMARY FOCUS.

YOU CAN'T DO IT.

Reporter: ED AND HIS

WIFE, BARB, MOVED TO

ALASKA FOUR YEARS AGO TO

WORK WITH THE ALASKA BIBLE

SEMINARY.

AFTER VISITING SINCE 2006,

THEY THOUGHT THEY

UNDERSTOOD THE NATIVE

CULTURE, BUT LIVING THERE

IS A BIGGER CHALLENGE THAN

EXPECTED.

IT IS HARD TO -- MY

BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS ALL

UPIC.

AND THEY SHIFT TO ENGLISH

WHEN THEY NEED INFORMATION

FROM ME, BUT THEIR

DISCUSSION IS IN UPIC.

FOR ME, A ASIDE FROM

MISSING MY FAMILY, IT IS

THE INABILITY SOMETIMES TO

GET WHAT I NEED.

Reporter: FOR ED AND

BARB, ENCOURAGEMENT FROM

ARCTIC BARNIBIS, WHETHER

IT IS A CARD OR EVEN A

DELIVERY, MATTERS MOST.

IT WAS JUST KIND OF AN

ASIDE THAT WE HAD MADE A

COMMENT ONE DAY THAT, YOU

KNOW, HOW MUCH WE MISSED

WATERMELON.

Reporter: IN BETHEL,

A WATERMELON CAN COST $50,

A PRICE ED AND BARB

COULDN'T JUSTIFY.

MICHAEL'S NEXT VISIT

ANSWERS THE NEED.

IT JUST SHOWS WHEN

WE'RE TALKING AND SHARING

WHATEVER IT MIGHT BE, THEY

ARE LISTENING.

Reporter: ARCTIC

BARNIBIS ALSO SENDS OUT A

WOMEN'S MAGAZINE.

MICHAEL AND RENATA

RECENTLY WENT EVEN

FURTHER: BUILDING A NEW

HOME, WITH ENOUGH ROOM FOR

MISSIONARY FAMILIES TO

COME AND STAY, WHETHER

THEY'RE RECOVENG FROM A

MEDICAL PROCEDURE OR JUST

NEEDING TO REENERGIZE.

SO FAMILIES NOT ONLY

SURVIVE, BUT THRIVE IN

ALASKA'S REMOTE VILLAGES.

AND AS THEY THRIVE, SO

DOES THE CHURCH.

Efrem: TIME NOW FOR

YOUR TUESDAY TWEETABLE, A

MESSAGE I HOPE WILL UPLIFT

YOU.

REMEMBER THIS: OUR GOD IS

ALL POWERFUL AND EVER

PRESENT.

BUT IN THAT GREATNESS, HE

IS STILL CLOSER TO YOU

THAN A BROTHER.

GOD IS JUST A BREATH AWAY.

SPEAK HIS NAME, AND HE

PROMISES TO BE NEAR TO ALL

WHO WILL CALL UPON HIM.

WITH THAT WORD, MAKE THIS

A TERRIFIC TUESDAY.

> THAT IS GOING TO DO IT
