NARRATOR: Like many boys his age,

7-year-old Omolemo loves to play outside.

But one day, he witnessed something terrible.

I was playing and I saw two men

chasing someone with a knife.

I heard one of them say to the man, I am going to get you.

They grabbed him and beat him, then

stabbed him in the back of the head.

I was so scared.

NARRATOR: Omolemo ran away.

While an ambulance came to take the man to the hospital,

Omolemo hid inside his house, waiting for his mom

to come home from work.

After that, I didn't want to go outside anymore,

at night I couldn't sleep.

I thought someone would try to kill me too.

NARRATOR: Omolemo was invited to attend Dayspring Children's

Village, which is supported by CBN's Orphan's Promise.

He made so many friends here he's

no longer afraid to play outside.

OMOLEMO: Omolemo: I like playing with the other children.

I feel safe in here.

I sleep so well during naptime.

And I'm not scared anymore.

Because I learned that no matter what happens, God is with me.

NARRATOR: Omolemo gets good meals

and also attends school here.

OMOLEMO: It makes me happy to see my teachers.

I love them and I know they love me.

They teach me about Jesus.

And I know he loves me too.

I thank God for the family he gave me here.

Thank you, CBN.
