The daughter of African missionaries, Myshel grew up learning music is a universal language. Today she is dedicated to using her musical talent to share the love of God. Read Transcript

My name is Myshel Wilkins.

And I am a professional recording artist.

My father's a missionary, and my mother's from West Africa.

Over the years, I was able to go to different countries

with my father, singing and even speaking,

like I was a teenager, I was in high school.

And so growing up it's huge, it just

made a huge impact on my heart, my relationship

with the Lord, my view of people of other cultures,

I developed a love for them.

And then at the same time, I'm learning

that I have this love for music, this love to sing.

And I began to kind of combine the two of I

wanted to reach people, I wanted to empower people.

I wanted to encourage people.

Good evening.

How are you?

How are you?

Music is definitely a universal language.

We all love music.

We all feel music.

It speaks the emotion and the feeling of the heart.

(SINGING) I can remember a purity, a heart so clean,

I was complete.

And so I love the power that that,

that transcending ability to relate and draw people in.

We can all kind of speak the same language.

So I just released my album.

I'm super excited about it.

It's entitled "Unstoppable."

And what I just pray and ask God to do

is just love on the people through it.

"Dance" is a song that talks about your relationship

with God very much like a dance.

(SINGING) Can we dance a dance of words?

The greatest thing that I absolutely love,

what fulfills me more is standing

in front of His people, seeing their faces,

and being able to sing and to connect with them onstage

and to maybe give a testimony that will connect

with someone in the stage to say,

gosh, she just told my story.

I love that "aha" moment when the light bulb goes on, when

someone says, I can be free.

I can live a real life that's healthy

emotionally and spiritually.

God really is good.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to share

God in this very creative way.
