Efrem: AND THANKS FOR

JOINING US FOR CBN

"NEWSWATCH."

I'M EFREM GRAHAM.

NORTH KOREA CLAIMS IT

SUCCESSFULLY TEST FIRED AN

IN CONTINENTAL BALLISTIC

MISSILE, PUSHING IT CLOSER

TO POTENTIALLY HITTING THE

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

George: ANNOUNCER ON

STATE TELEVISION SAID THE

LAUNCH OF THE MISSILE WAS

PERSONALLY SUPERVISED BY

KIM JONG-UN, SEEN HERE

CLAPPING AND SMILING, AND

WARNED THE MISSILE COULD,

QUOTE, "STRIKE ANY PLACE

IN THE WORLD."

THE LAND-BASED MISSILE,

LAUNCHED FROM AN AIR FIELD

IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE

COUNTRY, REPORTEDLY

REACHED AN ALTITUDE OF

MORE THAN 1700 MILES, AND

THROUGH SOME 500 MILES FOR

ABOUT 40 MINUTES BEFORE

LANDING IN THE SEA OF

JAPAN.

IF THE CLAIMS ARE TRUE, IT

MARKS THE FIRST TIME THE

NORTH KOREAN REGIME HAS

TESTED AN INTERCONTINENTAL

BALLISTIC MISSILE,

POWERFUL ENOUGH TO REACH

AS FAR AS ALASKA.

JAPAN'S PRIME MINISTER

SAYS THIS LATEST TEST IS

CAUSE FOR GROWING ALARM.

THEY IGNORE THE

REPEATED WARNING FROM THE

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.

THIS MISSILE WATCH SHOWS

THAT NORTH KOREA'S THREAT

HAS INCREASED.

George: A SENTIMENT

ECHOED AT THE UNITED

NATIONS ON MONDAY.

CURRENTLY, THE TENSION

IS HIGH.

SOONER OR LATER IT WILL

GET OUT OF CONTROL, AND

THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD BE

DISASTEROUS.

George: SINCE COMING

TO POWER IN 2011, KIM

JONG-UN HAS DRAMATICALLY

UPPED THE SPEED OF HIS

COUNTRY'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM.

IN 2016, HIS REGIME

LAUNCHED TWO NUCLEAR

DEVICES AND MORE THAN 20

BALLISTIC MISSILES.

THIS WAS THE 11th

MISSILE TEST THIS YEAR,

EACH TIME REVEALING NEW

ADVANCED ROCKET SYSTEMS.

PRESIDENT TRUMP BLASTED

THE NORTH KOREAN DICTATOR

ON TWITTER, SAYING "DOES

THIS GUY HAVE ANYTHING

BETTER TO DO WITH HIS

LIFE.

HARD TO BELIEVE SOUTH

KOREA AND JAPAN WOULD PUT

UP WITH THIS MUCH LONGER."

THE PRESIDENT IS URGING

THE NORTH'S NEIGHBOR AND

LARGEST TRADING PARTNER,

CHINA, TO MOVE ON NORTH

KOREA, AND END THIS

NONSENSE ONCE AND FOR ALL.

THE GROWING CONCERN FOR

THE INTERNATIONAL

COMMUNITY, PARTICULARLY

THE U.S., IS WHETHER THE

REGIME HAS THE CAPABILITY

OF HITTING A LONG-RANGE

COUNTRY WITH AN ICBM.

TODAY'S MISSILE TEST COMES

A DAY AFTER NORTH KOREA

WAS A KEY TOPIC IN PHONE

CALLS BETWEEN PRESIDENT

TRUMP AND THE LEADERS OF

CHINA AND JAPAN.

ALL THREE ARE EXPECTED TO

DISCUSS THE ISSUE FURTHER

AT THIS WEEKEND'S G20

SUMMIT IN GERMANY.

Efrem: PRESIDENT

TRUMP IS OFFERING TO HELP

A DYING BABY IN ENGLAND.

THE 10-MONTH-OLD SUFFERS

FROM A RARE GENETIC

CONDITION AND IS UNABLE TO

BREATHE WITHOUT HELP.

THE HOSPITAL TREATING HIM

SAID, QUOTE," HE SHOULD

DIE WITH DIGNITY."

THEY INSIST NOTHING MORE

CAN BE DONE.

PRESIDENT TRUMP TWEETED,

"IF WE CAN HELP LITTLE

CHARLIE AS PER THE U.K.

AND THE POPE, WE WOULD BE

DELIGHTED TO DO SO."

> FATHER FRANK PAVONE,

WITH PRIESTS FOR LIFE,

EXPLAINS WHY CHARLIE'S

CASE IS SO IMPORTANT.

THE CHURCH HAS ALWAYS

UPHELD NOT ONLY THE RIGHT

TO LIFE OF THE CHILD, BUT

THE RIGHT OF PARENTS TO BE

THE FIRST EDUCATORS, THE

FIRST PROVIDERS, THE FIRST

DECISION-MAKERS FOR THE

WELL-BEING OF THEIR

CHILDREN.

Efrem: CHARLIE'S

PARENTS LOST THEIR LEGAL

BATTLE TO BRING HIM TO THE

UNITED STATES FOR

EXPERIMENTAL TREATMENT.

THEY HAVE RAISED NEARLY

$2 MILLION FOR THE

PROCEDURE.

> A BUS BURST INTO

FLAMES AFTER COLLIDING

WITH A TRUCK ON A HIGHWAY

IN SOUTHERN GERMANY.

THE POLICE SAY 18 PEOPLE

ARE DEAD AND 30 MORE OR

SERIOUSLY INJURED.

THE BUS REAR-ENDED A

TRAILER TRUCK ON THE A9

HIGHWAY.

RESCUE CREWS SIFTED

THROUGH THE WRECKAGE,

LOOKING FOR SURVIVORS.

MOST WERE BETWEEN THE AGES

OF 40 AND 80.

> A LONDON TEENAGER WILL

FACE LIFE BEHIND BARS

AFTER ATTEMPTING TO BOMB

AN ELTON JOHN CONCERT LAST

YEAR.

A BRITISH COURT HANDED

DOWN THE LIFE SENTENCE ON

MONDAY AFTER THE JUDGE

CONCLUDEDED HE POSED A

SERIOUS THREAT TO HIS

COUNTRY.

HE PLEADED GUILTY IN APRIL

TO THE TERROR PLOT, WHICH

WAS MEANT TO COINCIDE WITH

THE ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11.

> IT SEEMS

COUNTER-INTUITIVE THAT

PEOPLE ON THE LEFT WOULD

FIND COMMON GROUND WITH

RADICAL ISLAMISTS, BUT AS

PAUL STRAND REPORTS, ONE

WASHINGTON THINK-TANK

HIGHLIGHTS WHY THEY ARE

COMING TOGETHER AND WHAT

SOME LIBERALS ARE COVERING

FOR JIHADISTS' VIOLENCE.

> Reporter: THESE THREE

OBSERVERS ACCUSE SOME ON

THE LEFT OF BEING IN

KAHOOTS FOR RADICAL ISLAM

OR AT LEAST COVERING UP

THE ACTS OF THEM.

RADICAL ISLAMISTS, ONCE

THEY GAIN POWER WOULD

LIKELY WIPE OUT EVERYBODY.

GREGORY ANGELO POINTS OUT

HOW SOME MUSLIMS OVERSEAS

ROUTINELY SLAUGHTER

HOMOSEXUALS.

WHERE YOU HAVE ISIS

THROWING PEOPLE OFF OF

ROOFS.

IN IRAN, YOU ARE NOT JUST

IMPRISONED, BUT EXECUTED

FOR BEING GAY, OR JUST

SUSPECTED OF BEING GAY.

Reporter: BUT

LEFT-LEANING GAYS WON'T

CALL THESE MUSLIMS ON IT,

EVEN THOUGH ISIS AND

OTHERS WOULD MURDER THEM

IF GIVEN THE CHANCE.

HE CAN'T BELIEVE SOME GAYS

WON'T CONDEMN SUCH FORCES.

ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO

SEEK TO ERADICATE LGBT

INDIVIDUALS FROM THE FACE

OF THE EARTH.

MAYBE THE LEFT

SHOULDN'T BE ATTACHING

THEMSELVES TO THESE

MEDIEVAL BUTCHERS WHO WILL

KILL THEM ONCE THEY ASSUME

POWER.

Reporter: EVEN IN

AMERICA, MANY REFUSED TO

ACCEPT AN ISIS WANNABE

WENT INTO A NIGHTCLUB AND

STARTED KILLING THEM.

EVEN IN ORLANDO, THE

SHOOTER ACTUALLY TOLD

POLICE, I'M AN AGENT OF

THE ISLAMIC STATE.

Reporter: YET, SOME

ON THE LEFT BLAME IT ON

REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS, EVEN

EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS.

EVERYTHING BUT CALL OUT A

JIHADI.

A LIBERAL ATTACK THAT

SEES EVERYTHING BUT THE

ACTUAL THREATS IN FRONT OF

THEM, AND SEEKS TO BLAME

EVERYTHING ACCEPT FOR WHAT

IS TRULY RESPONSIBLE, AND

THAT IS RADICAL ISLAM.

Reporter: IN HIS NEW

BOOK, HE SUGGESTS THE

RADICAL LEFT BUDDIES UP

WITH ISLAMISTS BECAUSE

BOTH HAVE A COMMON GOAL:

WIPING OUT WESTERN

DEMOCRACY'S OPEN FORM OF

GOVERNMENT.

TO UNDERMINE THE UNITED

STATES AND WESTERN

CIVILIZATION AS A WHOLE.

THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY

IS MY FRIEND.

Reporter: FRANK

GAFFNEY POINTS OUT IT IS

OFTEN THE LIBERAL NATIONS

WHO ARE THE MOST

ACCOMMODATING AND EXCUSING

THE WESTERN WAYS, AND THEY

GET THE WORST TAKES, LIKE

SWEDEN.

AT THE EDGE OF, OR

ACTUALLY IN, A CIVIL WAR

WITH THE PRIMARILY, I

GUESS, TRANSPLANTED

POPULATIONS FROM THE

MIDDLE EAST NOW TAKING

OVER SOMETHING LIKE 61

SO-CALLED NO-GO ZONES IN

THE COUNTRY, AND

INCREASINGLY PARTS OF THE

COUNTRY ARE SIMPLY BEING

LOST.

Reporter: ISLAM MEANS

SUBMISSION, AND THESE

PANELISTS SUGGEST THAT

SUBMITING IS WHAT MANY ARE

DOING.

YOU'RE SEEING IT

PREVADEING ALL OF EUROPE.

I HAVE LOST COUNT, STOPPED

COUNTERINGCOUNTING THE NUMBER OF

TIMES WHEN ISLAMISTS HAVE

ATTACKED PEOPLE IN THE

PUBLIC SQUARE.

Reporter: BUT MANY

LEADERS ARE AFRAID TO

FIGHT BACK FOR FEAR OF

BEING LABELLED ISLAMO

ISLAMOPHOBIC.

EVEN THOSE WHO WOULD

SPEAK OUT AGAINST IT FEEL

THEY CANNOT BECAUSE THEY

WOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE

MARGINALIZED.

IT IS NOT ONLY CHILLING,

BUT IT IS LITERALLY

DANGEROUS.

Reporter: PAUL

STRAND, CBN NEWS,

WASHINGTON.

Efrem: A FEDERAL

JUDGE HAS GIVEN THE CITY

OF PENSACOLA, FLORIDA,

TIME TO APPEAL HIS RULING

TO REMOVE A CROSS IN A

CITY PARK.

LAST MONTH DISTRICT COURT

JUDGE ROGER VINCENT

ORDERED THE CROSS BE TAKEN

DOWN, DUE TO ITS RELIGIOUS

NATURE.

IN RESPONSE, PENSACOLA'S

MAYOR SAID, THE BAY VIEW

CROSS HAS PLAYED AN

IMPORTANT PART IN THE

HISTORY OF PENSACOLA FOR

MANY YEARS.

WE ARE GLAD THAT THE

CITIZENS OF PENSACOLA CAN

CONTINUE TO CELEBRATE OUR

REMARKABLE HISTORY.

."

FOUR ATHEISTS SUED THE

CITY LAST YEAR, SAYING THE

CROSS WAS OFFENSIVE.

> IF YOU'RE HITTING THE

ROAD ON THE FOURTH OF

JULY, YOU'RE GETTING A BIT

OF A BLESSING.

GAS LEVELS ARE AT THEIR

LOWEST LEVELS SINCE 2005.

IN A FEW STATES, THE

AVERAGE FOR REGULAR GAS IS

BELOW $2.

GAS BUDDY REPORTS GAS

PRICES FELL STEADILY OVER

THE LAST MONTH.

AN ESTIMATED 37.5 MILLION

AMERICANS ARE DRIVING TO

THEIR DESTINATIONS THIS

YEAR, ACCORDING TO A.A.A.

> STILL AHEAD HERE ON

CBN "NEWSWATCH," THEY ARE

MEN AND WOMEN ON THE FRONT

LINES, BUT THE EMOTIONAL

AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS MAKE

THIS DANGEROUS, EVEN

TOUGHER.

SEE HOW THEY ARE LEANING

ON THE WORD OF GOD AND

EACH OTHER TO GET THROUGH

Efrem: TEDDY

ROOSEVELT WAS A LARGER

THAN LIFE PRESIDENT, SO IT

IS ONLY FITTING WE NAMED A

NIMITZ SUPER CARRIER AFTER

HIM.

THE "ROUGHRIDER,ROUGHRIDER," CRAMS

5,000 CREW MEMBERS.

I GOT A TASTE OF WHAT IT

IS LIKE TO LIVE LIFE ON

BOARD.

Efrem: THE U.S.S.

THEODORE ROOSEVELT, 90,000

TONS OF STEEL, WITH A JET

RUNWAY ON TOP.

FOR ME, AS A REPORTER, IT

IS AN ADVENTURE, FROM THE

VERY START.

THIS JOURNEY FROM NAVAL

STATION NORFOLK REQUIRES

SAFETY VESTS AND GOOGLES.

SAILORS CALL THE ROOSEVELT

THE BIG STICK, AS IT

TOWERS 20 STORIES ABOVE

THE WATER AND STRETCHES

THREE AND A HALF FOOTBALL

FIELDS.

INSIDE THE CARRIER FEELS

LIKE A SERIES OF UNENDING

MAZES, BRIDGES, AND

TUNNELS, AND SOMETIMES

THERE CAN BE AS MANY AS

5,000 PEOPLE ON BOARD.

AND THEY MAKE UP THIS

VESSEL'S MOST IMPRESSIVE

ASSET, FROM THOSE WHO

GUIDE THE RAPID TAKEOFFS

AND LANDINGS ON THE FLIGHT

DECK TO THOSE WHO REPAIR

PIPES IN THE MACHINE SHOP,

AND THOSE WHO FAITHFULLY

TRANSPORT EXPLOSIVES ON

AND OFF THE CARRIER.

THIS IS PRECISION UNDER

PRESSURE.

I DO THE JOB I DO IN

THE NAVY, NOT SO MUCH

BECAUSE OF THE JOB,

BECAUSE WORKING WITH

EXPLOSIVES IS NOT THE

FIRST THING I THOUGHT

ABOUT WHEN I THOUGHT ABOUT

JOINING, BUT I DO IT FOR

THE PEOPLE.

THERE IS A CHANCE IF

SOMETHING GOES WRONG IT

CAN INHERENTLY KILL THE

ENTIRE DEPARTMENT, SO

WE'RE VERY TIGHT-KNIT.

Efrem: WITH MORE THAN

17 YEARS IN THE NAVY,

CHARLES WORKS TO MAKE THAT

COMMUNITY EVEN TIGHTER AND

SAVES LIVES.

THE EXPLOSIVES EXPERT

LEADS AN EVENING BIBLE

STUDY FIVE NIGHTS A WEEK.

WHEN I CAME IN THE

MILITARY, I WAS A YOUNG

BELIEVER.

SO I CAME IN AT 18, 19

YEARS OLD, AND I WAS A

CHRISTIAN.

I WAS LICENSED TO

MINISTER.

AND SO I SEE THE

IMPORTANCE OF MAKING SURE

YOU CONNECT AT AN EARLY

AGE WITH OTHER BELIEVERS.

Efrem: THAT

CONNECTION IS CRITICAL,

ESPECIALLY NOW.

ON OUR VISIT ON BOARD THE

ROOSEVELT, SAILORS ARE

FINISHING UP THE FINAL

TRAINING FOR A NINE-MONTH

DEPLOYMENT.

YOU GO THROUGH A GAMUT

OF EMOTIONS.

YOU CAN GET LONELY,

SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET

DEPRESSED, AND YOU HAVE TO

CONSTANTLY REMIND YOURSELF

THIS IS ONLY FOR A PERIOD

OF TIME.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, MY

FAMILY IS AT HOME WAITING

FOR ME AND THEY'RE EXCITED

ABOUT SEEING ME.

AND ONCE THIS IS DONE, I

CAN GO HOME AND SPEND TIME

WITH THEM.

Efrem: AND THE

SAILOR'S SACRIFICE CAN BE

SEEN IN THE SIMPLEST OF

WAYS.

THESE ARE SLEEPING

QUARTERS.

RATHER TIGHT FOR SIX

PEOPLE.

IT GETS TOUGH

SOMETIMES.

OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE GOING TO

MISS YOUR FAMILY.

I WAS WITH MY FAMILY FOR

19 YEARS, AND ALL OF A

SUDDEN, JUST LIKE THAT,

I'M AWAY FROM THEM.

LUCKILY I HAVE PEOPLE

AROUND THE SHIP I CAN CALL

MY SEA FAMILY.

THEY GET ME THROUGH THE

DAY.

Efrem: THIS IS A

MILESTONE MISSION FOR

STEVEN GREEN: HIS FIRST

DEPLOYMENT AS A CHRISTIAN.

MY FAITH PRETTY MUCH

BEGAN ON THIS SHIP.

Efrem: LESS THAN A

YEAR AGO, THE 22-YEAR-OLD

ATTENDED A WORSHIP SERVICE

IN THE SAME AREA WHERE HE

WORKS TO LIFT AND DROP

ANCHOR.

AT THAT MEETING, ANOTHER

STALE LOSAILOR INVITED STEVEN TO

ATTEND HIS CHURCH BACK

HOME.

THE FIRST DAY THERE,

HONESTLY, I DIDN'T GET

MUCH OF ANYTHING.

BUT SOMETHING WAS DRAWING

ME TO THAT CHURCH, SO I

CAME BACK A SECOND TIME.

AND THE PASTOR -- WE WERE

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF

WORSHIP SERVICE, SHE

STOPPED AND LOOKED

DIRECTLY AT ME, AND THAT'S

WHEN SHE SPOKE INTO MY

LIFE AND GAVE ME WHAT GOD

WAS TELLING ME.

IT WAS JUST CRAZY FOR ME

BECAUSE IT WAS A COUPLE OF

WEEKS AGO THAT I WAS

PRAYING TO GOD ABOUT WHAT

WAS GOING ON IN MY LIFE

AND WHAT I WAS ASKING HIM

FOR.

AND IT WAS LIKE SHE WAS

LISTENING IN ON ME AND

GOD'S CONVERSATION.

Efrem: HE ACCEPTED

CHRIST, STOPPED DRINKING,

AND FOUND FAITH IN THE

CHRISTIAN FAITH HE FIRST

DISCOVERED ON BOARD THE

SHIP.

IT GOT REALLY BAD.

THERE WAS A POINT WHERE I

WAS DRINKING EVERY NIGHT.

I WAS TRYING TO FILL THAT

VOID IN MY LIFE, THINKING

IT WOULD MAKE ME HAPPIER

AND IT WOULD TAKE ALL OF

MY DEPRESSION AWAY AND ALL

OF MY STRESS AWAY.

OBVIOUSLY, IT DID NOT.

I NEEDED GOD.

I'M ACTUALLY EIGHT MONTHS

SOBER NOW.

AND IT WAS -- FOR A LOT OF

FRIENDS THAT I USED TO

HAVE, IT WAS -- THEY

DIDN'T REALLY GET IT.

Efrem: GREEN BEAT THE

ODDS, WHICH SHOW ALCOHOL

ABUSE IS A SIGNIFICANT

PROBLEM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

IN THE MILITARY.

HE NOW PRAYS.

WHEN THE BIG STICK SETS

SAIL, THOSE OLD DRINKING

BUDDIES WILL SOME DAY JOIN

HIM AT A SHIP BIBLE STUDY,

A SHIP CHURCH SERVICE.

OR THEY'LL SIMPLY PAUSE TO

TRULY HEAR ONE OF THE

SHIP'S NIGHTLY PRAYERS.

LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN AT

SEA CAN BE VERY SIMILAR AS

LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN IN

PORT.

Efrem: AND THE

CONNECTION PROVIDES ADDED

PROTECTION.

Efrem: UP NEXT, AS WE

CELEBRATE OUR NATION'S

INDEPENDENCE, WE HONOR THE

MEN WHO FIGHT FOR OUR

FREEDOM, AND THE WOMEN

BEHIND THEM.

WE GIVE YOU AN INSIDE LOOK

AT ONE COMPANY THAT IS

EMPOWERING MILITARY WIVES,

AND GIVING THEM A HAND-UP.

Efrem: LONG

DEPLOYMENTS AREN'T JUST

TOUGH ON THE PEOPLE

OVERSEAS.

THEY ARE HARD ON THE

FAMILIES LEFT BEHIND AT

HOME.

MILITARY SPOUSES OFTEN

HAVE TO BE THE MOM AND THE

DAD AND THE CHAUFFEUR AND

THE NANNY AND THE HANDYMAN

ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

SO ONE COMPANY DECIDED TO

CREATE A SUPPORT NETWORK

FOR MILITARY SPOUSES.

AND IT IS ALSO GIVING THEM

AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE

SOME MONEY.

WE INTERRUPT THIS

BROADCAST TO BRING YOU

THIS IMPORTANT BULLETIN.

Reporter:

DECEMBER 1941, THE BOMBING

OF PEARL HARBOR SPURS THE

UNITED STATES TO ENTER

WHAT WOULD BECOME THE

DEADLIEST WAR IN HISTORY.

16 MILLION MEN SIGNED UP

FOR THE FIGHT, AND WOMEN

PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN

FACTORIES AND SHIPYARDS.

ROSIE RIVETER STILL SERVES

AS AN INSPIRATION.

THIS COMPANY EMPLOYEES

MILITARY SPOUSES, WHO

CARRY ON THE TRADITION OF

SUPPORTING THEIR SOLDIERS

AND THE COUNTRY.

SHE EMBODIED EVERYTHING

ABOUT MILITARY SPOUSES.

AND STANDING UP FOR A

WOMAN'S RIGHT TO WORK.

AND REALLY WHAT THOSE

WOMEN DID DURING THE

SECOND WORLD WAR AND SAID,

I'M GOING TO DO THIS NOT

JUST FOR MYSELF AND MY

FAMILY, BUT FOR THE

COUNTRY AND THE GREATER

GOOD.

Reporter: CAMERON AND

LISA UNDERSTAND THE

HARDSHIP OF BEING MARRIED

TO THE MILITARY.

WHEN I WAS MOVING

AROUND AS FREQUENTLY AS

YOU DO IN THE MILITARY, I

FELT LIKE I WAS LOSING MY

IDENTITY.

MY HUSBAND HAD THIS REALLY

AWESOME JOB, WHERE HE IS

JUMPING OUT OF AIRPLANES

AND REALLY HELPING THIS

COUNTRY, AND A LOT OF

TIMES I FELT LIKE THE BEST

THING I GOT DONE IN THE

DAY WAS THE LAUNDRY.

Reporter: JENNIFER

AND HER HUSBAND LIVED IN

DIFFERENT PLACES OF THE

WORLD DURING THE FIRST

FIVE YEARS OF THEIR

MARRIAGE.

WHEN THEY'RE DEPLOYED,

YOU BECOME THE HEAD OF THE

HOUSEHOLD, AND YOU HAVE TO

DO EVERYTHING.

SO I WAS THE ONLY PERSON

TO TAKE CARE OF THREE

KIDS.

I WAS SORT OF CLEANING THE

HOUSE, DOING THE LAUNDRY,

AND ALSO DOING THE YARD

WORK.

SO IT WAS TOUGH.

Reporter: ON TOUP OF TOP OF

DEPLOYMENT, MILITARY

SPOUSES HAVE TO DEAL WITH

THE ADDED STRESS OF MOVING

EVERY TWO TO THREE YEARS.

I THINK EVERY TIME YOU

MOVE, YOU LOSE A LITTLE

BIT OF WHO YOU WERE AT

THAT LOCATION.

YOU THINK, WHAT JOB AM I

GOING TO HAVE, WHAT

FRIENDS AM I GOING TO

FIND.

Reporter: IT WAS A

PROBLEM THAT CRUZ AND

BRADLEY KNEW AFFECTED

OTHER WOMEN.

THE FIRST THING WE DID

WAS DECIDE THE WHY.

WE ASKED OURSELVES, WHAT

IS MOST IMPORTANT ABOUT

WHAT OUR COMPANY IS GOING

TO DO?

AND IT WAS HELPING

MILITARY SPOUSES.

Reporter: THE GOAL,

CREATE A FLEXIBLE NETWORK

FOR MILITARY SPOUSES.

GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY

TO WORK AND EARN AN

INCOME, NO MATTER WHERE

THE MILITARY TAKES THEM.

THEY USE THEIR SEWING

SKILLS TO CRAFT THE PARTS

AND PIECES OF HANDBAGS,

MADE FROM UP CYCLED

PARACHUTES, COATS, AND

UNIFORMS.

SO THIS TENT THAT ONCE

KEPT A SOLDIER WARM AND

DRY NOW SERVES A DIFFEREN DIFFERENT

POINT IN SERVING THE MILL

TORY.

Reporter Reporter: THAT

OPPORTUNITY EVENTUALLY LED

THEM TO ABC'S "THE SHARK

TANK," BUT THE HEART OF

THE MISSION HASN'T

CHANGED.

I THINK THE MILITARY

SPOUSES ARE SO IMPORTANT

TO SUPPORT BECAUSE THEY'RE

THE ONES THAT ARE BEHIND

OUR SERVICE MEMBERS THAT

ARE DOING SO MUCH.

AND SOMETIMES THEY'RE

REALLY OUR UNSUNG HEROS.

THEY DO SO MUCH FOR OUR

COUNTRY THAT WE DON'T

REALLY REALIZE.

Reporter: JENNIFER

SAYS THAT JOINING ROSIE

RIVETER CHANGED HER LIFE.

IT IS THE BEST WORK

ENVIRONMENT I EVER WORKED

IN.

I THINK FOR THE FIRST

MONTH, I PROBABLY CRIED ON

THE WAY TO WORK EVERY

SINGLE DAY BECAUSE I JUST

LOVE IT SO MUCH.

COMING INTO THE

MILITARY COMMUNITY WAS

SOMETHING THAT REALLY

SCARED ME.

I WAS NOT REALLY AWARE OF

ALL OF THE UPS AND DOWNS.

I FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN

THAT SAVING GRACE FOR ME.

Reporter: PRODUCTION

MANAGER LAURA SAYS THIS

COMPANY SUPPORTS ONE

ANOTHER IN GOOD TIMES AND

BAD.

THESE WOMEN AND

COMMUNITY HAVE BEEN THERE

FOR ME.

THEY HAVE BEEN MY BEST

FRIENDS.

AND I COULDN'T ASK FOR A

BETTER JOB.

SO...

Reporter: IT'S A

COMMUNITY THAT IS FINDING

A REASON TO SMILE, DESPITE

THE HARDSHIPS, SACRIFICES,

AND CHALLENGES THEY FACE.

THINK ABOUT MILITARY

SPOUSES AND WHAT THEY'RE

DOING AT HOME.

THEY'RE THE ONES THAT,

ALTHOUGH THEY'RE NOT

WEARING THE UNIFORM,

THEY'RE STILL SERVING

THEIR COUNTRY IN A UNIQUE

WAY.

Reporter: CAITLIN

BURKE, CBN NEWS, SOUTH

PINES, NORTH CAROLINA.

Efrem: WHEN ONE IS

CALLED TO SERVE, THE

ENTIRE FAMILY SERVES.
