Efrem: THANKS FOR

JOINING US FOR CBN

"NEWSWATCH."

I'M EFREM GRAHAM.

TENS OF THOUSANDS OF

FLORIDA RESIDENTS RETURNED

TO THEIR HOMES ON TUESDAY

IN THE AFTERMATH OF

HURRICANE IRMA.

MANY FOUND THEIR HOMES IN

A SHAMBLES AND WITHOUT

ELECTRICITY AND RUNNING

WATER.

MOST ARE RELIEVED

VOLUNTEERS FROM AROUND THE

COUNTRY ARE COMING IN TO

HELP, AND THANKFUL

"OPERATION BLESSING" IS

THERE TO GIVE THEM SOME

BASIC NECESSITIES OF LIFE

AND HOPE.

OUR GARY LANE IS THERE

WITH MORE.

Reporter: LONG LINES

OF CARS JAMMED HIGHWAY 1,

AS FLORIDA KEYS RESIDENTS

RETURNED TO THEIR HOMES

FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE

HURRICANE IRMA BATTERED

SOUTHERN FLORIDA WITH

CATEGORY 4 WINDS.

ONE QUARTER OF THE HOMES

IN THE KEYS NO LONGER

EXIST.

IN NORTHEASTERN FLORIDA,

PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO

RECOVER FROM FLOODWATERS.

THIS IS JACKSONVILLE'S

POPULAR RIVER WALK AREA.

PEOPLE ENJOY COMING DOWN

HERE AND SEEING A NICE

SKYLINE VIEW, BUT NOT ON

THIS DAY.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE ST.

JOHN'S RIVER.

PEOPLE SAY IT HAS

OVERFLOWED ITS BANKS.

IT IS ABOUT SIX FEET ABOVE

NORMAL.

IT IS FLOATING INTO THIS

AREA.

AND A POPULAR SAILOR,

KNOWN AS THE SAILOR'S

STATUE, BUT LESS THAN 24

HOURS AGO, THESE WATERS

WASHED UP AND DOWN THESE

STREETS OF DOWNTOWN.

THIS IS HOW THE STREETS OF

DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE

LOOKED MONDAY MORNING.

ELECTRICITY IS THE

IMMEDIATE CONCERN AS THEY

RETURN TO THEIR HOMES.

MILLIONS ARE STILL WITHOUT

POWER.

CREWS FROM 30 STATES,

UTILITY WORKERS LIKE THIS

FROM NEW YORK, ARE

VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME SO

THAT FLORIDIANS WILL NOT

HAVE TO SUFFER THROUGH 90

HEAT WITHOUT AIR

CONDITIONING OR HAVING TO

SIT IN THE DARK.

WE'RE KIND OF EXCITED

OF PAYING BACK SOME OF THE

UTILITIES THAT HELPED US

WITH SUPERSTORM SANDY.

Reporter: WE CAUGHT

UP WITH THEM AS THEY

SURVEYED THE DESTRUCTION,

THE UNIQUE SIZE AND SCOPE

OF HURRICANE IRMA.

USUALLY WHEN SOMEONE

HAS A HURRICANE HIT A

STATE, YOU WONDER WHAT

CITY?

DID IT HIT MIAMI,

JACKSONVILLE -- IT HIT

THEM ALL.

Reporter: WHAT WERE

YOU PRAYING AND WHAT IS

YOUR PRAYER NOW?

I WAS PRAYING IT WOULD

TURN OFF, AND MY SECOND

PRAYER WAS IF IT WAS GOING

TO HIT US, IT WOULD NOT BE

THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO.

AND I PRAYED FOR THE

PEOPLE WHO WERE PULLING US

OUT, WHILE THEIR FAMILY

WAS BEHIND WEATHERING THE

STORM.

Reporter: THESE

RESIDENTS, HARD HIT BY THE

HURRICANE, WITH GRATEFUL

FOR THE HELP THEY RECEIVED

FRA CBN'S "OPERATION

BLESSING."

THE O.B. DAY SPENT THE DAY

IN NAPLES ON TUESDAY,

PROVIDING THE PEOPLE WITH

FOOD, WATER, AND OTHER

SUPPLIES.

AS THIS TRUCK IS BEING

UNLOADED, THERE ARE

RESIDENTS STANDING HERE

WAITING FOR FOOD AND WATER

AND PERSONAL HYGIENE

ITEMS.

Reporter: AND MANY

PEOPLE ARE STUCK IN THEIR

HOMES WITHOUT FOOD OR

WATER.

WE GOT AN ALERT ON

Facebook THAT "OPERATION

BLESSING" WAS GIVING AWAY

FOOD AT 3 p.m.

I'M LIKE WOW, THEY'RE

GIVING US FOOD AND WATER,

AND SOMEBODY IS OUT THERE

LOOKING OUT FOR US.

WE'RE NOT HERE ALONE.

Reporter: GARY LANE,

CBN NEWS, JACKSONVILLE,

FLORIDA.

Efrem: LAST NIGHT THE

PRESIDENT HAD DINNER WITH

A BIPARTISAN GROUP OF

SENATORS TO TALK TAXES,

AND HIS ADMINISTRATION IS

REVEALING A STRATEGY THAT

TRIES TO AVOID THE

MISTAKES MADE IN

ATTEMPTING TO REPEAL AND

REPLACE OBAMACARE.

HEATHER SELLS HAS THAT

STORY.

Heather: THE

PRESIDENT IS PLANNING

AGGRESSIVE TRAVEL TO BUILD

SUPPORT EARLY FOR THE TAX

REFORM PLAN.

HE WANTS TO MAKES THE CASE

FOR LOWER RATES, AND IN

CENTINCENTIVES FOR

CORPORATIONS TO BRING

BUSINESS BACK FROM

OVERSEAS.

THE PRESIDENT HAS ALREADY

TESTED THIS STRATEGY WITH

TRIPS TO MISSOURI AND

NORTH DAKOTA.

President Trump: THE

TAXES ARE CRAZY.

WE ARE THE HIGHEST TAXED

NATION IN THE WORLD.

WE'RE GOING TO TURN THAT

AROUND VERY QUICKLY.

Heather: LAST NIGHT

THE PRESIDENT HELD A

BIPARTISAN WORKING DINNER

TO PROMOTE HIS TAX REFORM.

HE INVITED SIX SENATORS,

INCLUDING THREE DEMOCRATS,

JOE MANSION, JOE DONNELLY,

AND HEIDI HICAMP.

IT COULD BOOST THEIR 2018

COMPAIGNS AS THE PRESIDENT

EASILY WON IN EACH OF

THEIR STATES.

AND HE MET ON TUESDAY WITH

HIS ECONOMIC ADVISORS TO

HAMMER OUT DETAILS, BUT NO

SPECIFIC NUMBERS HAVE

EMERGED.

CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS

ARE PROMISING THAT THE TAX

REWRITE WILL BE REVENUE

NEUTRAL AND NOT ADD TO THE

NATION'S DEBT.

THE PRESIDENT PROMISES IT

WILL BE STRAIGHTFORWARD.

President Trump: WE

NEED A TAX CODE THAT IS

SIMPLE, FAIR, AND EASY TO

UNDERSTAND.

Heather: HE IS ALSO

CALLING FOR MAJOR CUTS FOR

MIDDLE-CLASS FAMILIES, AND

BOTH THE PRESIDENT AND

HOUSE SPEAKER PAUL RYAN

ARE PROMISING SIGNIFICANT

CUTS FOR AMERICAN

BUSINESSES.

WHEN WE TAX OUR

BUSINESSES IN AMERICA AT

MUCH, MUCH HIGHER TAX

RATES THAN OUR FOREIGN

COMPETITORS TAX THEIRS,

THEY CAN PRICE US OUT OF

THE MARKET.

Heather: REPUBLICANS

HOPE TO REWRITE THE TAX

CODE BY THE END OF THE

YEAR.

IF NOT, THE TREASURY

SECRETARY SAID THEY MAY

MAKE THE TAX CUTS

RETROACTIVE TO THE START

OF THIS YEAR.

Efrem: THE SUPREME

COURT RULED IN FAVOR OF

PRESIDENT TRUMP'S TRAVEL

BAN, AT LEAST FOR NOW.

THE COURT OVERTURNED AN

APPEALS COURT RULING.

THE RULING AFFECTS SOME

24,000 REFUGEES ENTERING

IN THE U.S.

THE POLICY FOR FORBIDS

PEOPLE FROM SIX MOSTLY

MUSLIM NATIONS FOR

ENTERING THE UNITED STATES

FOR 90 DAYS.

IT IS MEANT TW TO GIVE

OFFICIALS TIME FOR

SCREENING, BUT OPPONENTS

SAY IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL

BECAUSE IT SINGLES OUT

MUSLIMS.

> THE PRESIDENT CALLS

THE LATEST SANCTIONS

AGAINST NORTH KOREA NOT A

BIG DEAL.

HE SOUGHT A EMBARGO ON

OIL.

INSTEAD, THE SECURITY

COUNCIL PASSED DOWN A

WATERED-DOWN VERSION OF

HIS PROPOSAL.

President Trump: IT

WAS NICE TO GET A 15-0

VOTE, BUT THOSE SANCTIONS

ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO

WHAT ULTIMATELY WILL HAVE

TO HAPPEN.

WE THINK IT IS JUST A

SMALL STEP, NOT A BIG

DEAL.

Efrem: THE RESOLUTION

BLOCKS NATURAL GAS

IMPORTS, AND BANS TEXTILE

EXPORTS.

THE SANCTIONS ARE IN

RESPONSE TO NORTH KOREA'S

NUCLEAR TEST LAST WEEK,

AND COULD CUT MORE THAN

$1.2 BILLION IN REVENUE.

MEANWHILE, SECRETARY OF

DEFENSE JAMES MATTIS IS

DEMONSTRATING THE UNITED

STATES' NUCLEAR

CAPABILITY.

HE IS VISITING A BASE THAT

IS CAPABLE OF DELIVERING

NUCLEAR BOMBS TO ANY PLACE

ON THE PLANET.

> THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT

SAYS IT WILL NOT BRING

FEDERAL CHARGES FOR THE

OFFICERS INVOLVED IN THE

DEATH OF FREDDIE GREY.

HE DIED IN THE BACK OF A

POLICE TRANSPORT WAGON IN

2015.

IT SPARKED A FEDERAL

INVESTIGATION AS TO A

PATTERN OF MISCONDUCT IN

THE BALTIMORE POLICE

DEPARTMENT.

THE OFFICERS WERE CHARGED

BY THE STATE BUT WERE

LATER EQUATED.

ACQUITTED.

THEY FACE DISCIPLINARY

PROCEEDINGS THAT ARE

SCHEDULED TO BEGIN

OCTOBER 13th.

> AHEAD, WHAT IS THE

CULPRIT FOR AN UNUSUALLY

ALARMING DEATH OF AMERICAN

WOMEN?

WE'RE GOING TO EXPLORE

THAT WHEN WE COME BACK.

STAY WITH US.

Efrem: PEOPLE IN THE

UNITED STATES ARE LIVING

LONGER.

MANY ARE REACHING THE AGE

OF 79, BUT LAST YEAR

LIFE-SPAN STATISTICS

DROPPED FOR THE FIRST TIME

IN MORE THAN TWO DECADES.

RESEARCHERS TRACED ONE

MAJOR REASON TO WHAT IS

HAPPENING IN AMERICA'S

COUNTRYSIDE.

LORIE JOHNSON BRINGS US

THIS EYE-OPENING REPORT.

Lorie: AMERICA'S

HEARTLAND NEEDS A

LIFELINE.

INSTEAD OF FALLING, DEATH

RATES ARE ACTUALLY RISING,

ESPECIALLY FOR

MIDDLE-AGED, WHITE WOMEN.

DOCTORS POINT TO OBESITY,

SMOKING AND OTHER CAUSES.

HERE IN SMALL-TOWN

AMERICA, FOLKS ARE DEALING

WITH AN ALARMING INCREASE

IN DEATHS FROM ACCIDENTAL

OPIOID OVER DOSES, FROM

THINGS LIKE PAINKILLERS

AND HEROIN, AND ALSO

ALCOHOL-RELATEDED DEATHS

AND SUICIDE.

IN RECENT YEARS, DEATH

RATES ROSE A REPORTED 30%

AMONG MIDDLE-AGED, WHITE

FEMALES LIVING IN RURAL

AREAS.

ELAINE VANCE GREW UP IN A

SMALL COAL MINING TOWN,

AND SHE ALMOST BECAME ONE

OF THOSE STATISTICS.

I REMEMBER DOING IT.

THE FIRST TIME I EVER DONE

HEROIN, I REMEMBER

THINKING, THIS MIGHT KILL

ME.

I MAY DIE.

AND THEN THE LONGER I WAS

IN ACTIVE ADDICTION, I

REMEMBER MIXING IT UP IN

THE SPOON AND JUST SAYING,

I HOPE THIS KILLS ME.

I'M READY TO DIE.

Lorie: HERS IS AN

UNFORTUNATE STORY LINE.

IT BEGINS WITH TAKING

PRESCRIPTION PAIN

MEDICATION AND DEVELOPING

AN ADDICTION THAT

ULTIMATELY LEADS TO

HEROIN.

WHAT MADE YOU DO THE

SWITCH-OVER?

THE HEROIN WAS CHEAPER,

FOR ONE THING.

IT WAS MORE POWERFUL.

AND OVER TIME, YOU BUILD

UP A TOLERANCE.

Lorie: AT FIRST

GETTING HIGH HELPED ESCAPE

PAINFUL EMOTIONS.

IN ELAINE'S CASE FROM

DIVORCE AND POVERTY.

THEN SHE COULDN'T STOP.

IT CONSUMED MY EVERY

THOUGHT.

IT DICTATED MY EVERY

ACTION.

Lorie: HERE IN RURAL

AMERICA, MANY OPIOID

ADDICTIONS BEGIN RATHER

INNOCENTLY, STARTING WITH

AN INJURY FROM A CAR CRASH

ON AN ON THE JOB ACCIDENT

WHERE PAINKILLERS ARE

PRESCRIBED.

LYNNE ELDRIDGE HAS TREATED

ADDICTS FOR MORE THAN 20

YEARS.

SHE SAYS OPIOID ABUSE HAS

EXPLODED LIKE NOTHING SHE

HAS EVER SEEN.

THEY MAY GET HURT.

THEY'RE PUT ON A PAIN

PILL.

IT IS OXYCONTIN, OR IT IS

HIJACKEHYDROCODONE.

AND SOMETIMES THEY'LL SAY,

I FELT A LITTLE BETTER

WHEN I WAS TAKING IT.

AND THEN MY NEIGHBOR HAD

SOME LEFT OVER, AND I

DECIDED TO TAKE HERS.

AND THEN WHEN THAT GOT

DIFFICULT TO GET, I WAS

INTRODUCED TO SOMEBODY WHO

HAD HEROIN.

Lorie: COMPARED TO

THE CITY, BUYING, SELLING,

AND EVEN TAKING DRUGS IN

THE COUNTRY, WELL, THAT'S

EASY.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO ON

A STREET CORNER.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO INTO

A SHOPPING MALL.

YOU JUST GO ON A BACK ROAD

BECAUSE THERE IS NOBODY

AROUND TO SEE YOU.

Lorie: DESPITE THE

GROWING DEATH TOLL, PEOPLE

CAN BREAK FREE.

DETOX.

BECAUSE YOU NEED TO BE

DETOXED PROFESSIONALLY, IN

A MEDICAL SETTING, SO IT

CAN BE HANDLED IN A SAFE

WAY.

ONE OF THE NEWEST AND

BEST -- IT IS A

GAME-CHANGING MEDICATION,

IS VIVATROL, AND IT'S AN

INJECTION.

AND IT IS RECEIVED IN A

DOCTOR'S OFFICE.

IT WILL TAKE AWAY THE

CRAVING AND THEY GET THEIR

LIFE BACK.

Lorie: WHILE ELAINE

CREDITS HER RECOVER FROM

DETOX AND A 12-STEP

PROGRAM, SHE GIVES MOST OF

HER VICTORY TO GOD.

I STARTED TO GETTING TO

KNOW JESUS.

I REALIZED THE SAME POWER

THAT ROSE HIM FROM THE

GRAVE IS WHAT FIGHTS

ADDICTION, NOT ME.

I CAN'T BEAT IT.

AND ONCE I REALIZED THAT

WAS THE POWER FIGHTING FOR

ME, I KNEW I WAS NEVER,

EVER GOING BACK.

Lorie: ELAINE WENT TO

"ONE VOICE," A CHRISTIAN

OUTREACH THAT OFFERS

ADDICTS TREATMENT,

CLOTHES, AND MOST

IMPORTANTLY, THE GOSPEL.

GOD GIVES YOU AN

OPPORTUNITY TO CHOOSE LIFE

OR CHOOSE DEATH, AND

THAT'S WHAT WE WANT TO

TELL THEM.

WE GET TO BRAG ON GOD AND

TELL THEM IF THEY WANT TO

SEE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR

LIFE, THAT IS REALLY THE

ONLY TRUE WAY TO DO THIS.

Lorie: THAT MEANS A

LOT OF PRAYER.

YES, YOU LIGHT OUR

PATH, GOD.

YOU ARE THE LIGHT IN A

DARK WORLD.

FATHER, HELP US TO BE THAT

LIGHT.

HELP US TO BE STRONG IN

YOU.

I NEEDED THEIR HELP.

I NEEDED THEIR MENTORSHIP.

I NEEDED THEIR PRAYERS.

I NEEDED THEIR SUGGESTIONS

AND THEIR ADVICE.

AND MOST OF ALL, I NEEDED

THEIR LOVE.

AND I RECEIVED ALL OF THAT

FROM THEM.

AND SO NOW I JUST TRY TO

GIVE THAT BACK.

I TRY TO BE THAT PERSON

FOR THE NEXT ME.

Lorie: YOU DON'T HAVE

TO BE A FORMER ADDICT OR

EVEN A TRAINED POTENTIAL

TO FIGHT THE WAR ON DRUGS.

YOU CAN PRAY.

YOU CAN ALSO OPEN UP YOUR

CHURCH CLASSROOMS TO DO

12-STEPS.

YOU CAN OFFER A DAY OF

TESTIMONY THAT THE VOICES

OF RECOVERY, THOSE THAT

HAVE CHOSEN TO RECOVER AND

DO WELCOME AND TALK.

YOU KNOW, SHARE THEIR

STORIES AND GIVE HOPE TO

THE OTHERS.

Lorie: SO WHILE

SUBSTANCE ABUSE CUTS SHORT

THE LIVES OF FAR TOO MANY,

IT IS NOT A LOST CAUSE.

AWARENESS AND TREATMENT,

POWDERED BY THE SPIRIT OF

GOD, ARE MAKING A POSITIVE

DIFFERENCE.

LAURIE JOHNSON, CBN NEWS.

Efrem: UP NEXT, FROM

FOOTBALL TO FILM.

T.C. STALLINGS IS IN

"STUDIO 5" WITH A PLAYBOOK

FOR LIFE.

Efrem: T.C. STALLINGS

WENT FROM A CAREER IN

FOOTBALL TO ACTING AND

STARRED IN THE FILM WAR

ROOM.

I SAT DOWN WITH HIM IN

"STUDIO 5" TO TALK ABOUT

HIS PLAYBOOK FOR PLAYING

ON GOD'S TEAM.

> WERE YOU ALWAYS

PLAYING ON GOD'S TEAM?

[LAUGHTER]

WELL, I THINK I WAS

ALWAYS ON IT, BUT I WASN'T

PLAYING -- DEFINITELY

WASN'T PLAYING THE WAY HE

CALLED ME TO PLAY.

I KIND OF LIKEN IT TO WHEN

I WENT ON MY FOOTBALL

TEAM.

I GAVE IT ALL I HAD, BUT I

CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT MY

CAREER WOULD HAVE BEEN

LIKE IF I JUST SAT ON THE

BENCH, AND WHEN THE COACH

WOULD SAY, GET IN THE

GAME -- NO, I'M GOOD.

WHEN THE COACH SAID, RUN

THIS PLAY -- NO, I'M NOT

RUNNING IT.

I DO WHAT I WANT TO DO OUT

THERE.

THAT'S MORE THE TYPE OF

PLAYER THAT I WAS BEING ON

GOD'S TEAM.

I BELIEVED IN MY COACH,

JESUS, BUT I WASN'T

LETTING HIM BE LORD.

Efrem: PEOPLE HEARING

THAT WILL SAY, WELL, DOES

THIS MEAN IF I ACCEPT AND

MAKE JESUS LORD OF MY

LIFE, THAT MY LIFE IS

GOING TO BE SMOOTH

SAILING?

AND I KNOW THAT WAS NOT

THE CASE WITH YOU.

YOU EXPERIENCED BOUTS WITH

HOMELESSNESS.

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING

ABOUT THE LORD AND SAVIOR

OF YOUR LIFE DURING THOSE

DIFFICULT TIMES?

FOR ME -- THIS IS WHY I

SAY, KNOW YOUR PLAYBOOK.

THE BIBLE IS SO IMPORTANT

IN THE GAME OF LIFE.

I CAN POINT TO PROMISES IN

SCRIPTURE THAT THIS WOULD

BE THE ROAD I WAS BE

FOLLOWING.

HE SAYS, IN THIS LIFE YOU

WILL HAVE TROUBLES.

SO I KNOW ITS COMING.

AND IT SAYS, ANYONE WHO

CHOOSES TO LIVE A GODLY

LIFE WILL BE PERSECUTED.

THAT'S A PROMISE.

SO GOD'S PLAN TELLS YOU,

IT IS GOING TO BE ROUGH.

WHAT MAKES THE SMOOTH PART

ABOUT IT IS HE HAS A

PROVISION FOR ALL OF THESE

THINGS.

HE SAYS, IN THIS LIFE YOU

WILL HAVE TROUBLE, BUT

TAKE HEART, I'VE OVERCOME

THE WORLD.

SO IT'S LIKE, I HAVE A

PLAN FOR YOU.

SO FOR ME, ALL OF MY BUMPS

AND BRUISES MAKE SENSE.

I WANT TO PLAY ON GOD'S

TEAM, AND IN LETTING GOD'S

LEAD YOUR LIFE, YOUR BUMPS

AND BRUISES MAKE SENSE.

AS OPPOSED TO WHEN I DO MY

OWN THING, I'M HURTING

MYSELF OR PEOPLE ARE

HURTING ME, AND I MAY NOT

EVEN KNOW WHY THIS IS

HAPPENING.

IT IS DUE TO ME PURSUING

MY OWN DREAMS.

THERE AREN'T PROVISIONS

FOR THOSE THINGS.

YOU BETTER HOPE THERE IS

ENOUGH GRACE TO GET YOU

BACK TO THE WILL OF GOD.

I HANG IN THERE BECAUSE I

KNOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO

HAPPEN.

THAT'S WHY IT IS WRONG AND

FALSE TO TELL PEOPLE THAT

A LIFE IN CHRIST IS SMOOTH

SAILING, BECAUSE THEY KIM

IN WITH THESE FALSE

EXPECTATIONS OF NO ISSUES,

AND THAT'S NOT EVEN

BIBLICAL.

THAT'S HOW I KEEP WITH IT.

Efrem: WE BEGAN THIS

SEGMENT LOOKING AT SCENES

OF YOU ON SCREEN.

YOU ALSO HAD A

PROFESSIONAL ATHLETIC

CAREER, A FOOTBALL PLAYER.

HOW DID YOU MAKE THE

TRANSITION.

WAS ACTING ALWAYS IN YOU?

IT WAS IN MY AS A

HOBBY.

WHERE YOU GO DO THE SUNDAY

PLAYS AND THE EASTER

PLAYS.

I USED TO LOVE IT.

I LIKED THAT KIND OF

ATTENTION.

BUT IT WASN'T SOMETHING

WHERE LIKE FOOTBALL WAS A

DEEP ASPIRATION.

Efrem: I WANT TO GO

BACK IN TIME FOR A SECOND,

IF I CAN GET THIS TO WORK,

AND LOOK AT SOMETHING

EARLY ON AND SEE IF YOU

REMEMBER THIS AND WHAT YOU

DO REMEMBER.

[LAUGHTER]

NEXT TIME ON "KING OF

THE JUNGLE," THE NEWLY

CROWNED KING OF THE JUNGLE

HEADS OUT ON HIS VERY OWN

ADVENTURE.

ONCE AGAIN, HERE WE

ARE, AND I'M ON ANIMAL

PLANET IN 2005.

AGAIN -- THIS IS WHAT I

MEAN BY FUN.

I HAD GRADUATED FROM

COLLEGE, BUT I HAD BEEN

PLAYING PRO FOOTBALL FOR

FOUR YEARS.

I SEE ANIMAL PLANET IS

AUDITIONING FOR REALITY

TV.

I THOUGHT, THAT'S A FUN

WAY TO SPEND YOUR SUMMER.

SO ON A WHIM I AUDITIONED,

AND THEY PICKED ME.

I WAS, LIKE, THIS IS

CRAZY.

I HAD A DECISION TO MAKE.

IN THE MIDDLE OF MY UP

COMING SEASON, I DECIDED

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO GO

AND DO SOMETHING LIKE

THIS.

I DIDN'T EXPECT ANYTHING

REALLY FROM IT.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE

SEASON, THEY ANNOUNCED TO

THE TEAM I WAS HEADING TO

DO ANIMAL PLANET AND I

WOULD BE BACK.

AND LO AND BEHOLD, I WON

THE WHOLE SHOW.

Efrem: I KNOW YOU

HAVE BEEN BUSY IN 2016,

AND I WANT TO GIVE YOU THE

TITLE ABOUT MOVIES COMING

UP IN 2017.

"A QUESTION OF FAITH."

A GREAT, GREAT FILM.

I GOT A CHANCE TO SCREEN

IT A LITTLE BIT, AND I HAD

TO FILL IN SOME LINES.

WE SHOT THAT IN ATLANTIC.

MAN, THEY DID SUCH A GREAT

JOB WITH THE FILM.

KEVIN FILMS IS IN IT.

RICHARD T. JONES IS IN IT,

AND THOMAS C. HOWELL IS IN

IT AND GREG ALLEN IS IN

IT.

IT IS A GREAT CAST.

Efrem: "THE PASTOR."

"THE PASTOR," I JUST

WRAPPED UP ON THAT FILM.

I PLAY A DETECTIVE AND A

PASTOR.

THIS PASTOR HAS COME TO A

TOWN AND HE IS HELPING TO

RESURRECT A CHURCH IN THE

CITY THAT IS READY TO GIVE

UP.

I'M, LIKE, THE ONLY

DETECTIVE LEFT THAT HAS A

FEELING THAT THINGS COULD

BE BETTER.

HE HAS AN INTERESTING WAY

OF REACHING SOME OF THE

THUGS IN THE CITY.

HE'S NOT YOUR EVERYDAY

PASTOR.

THAT'S A HINT THERE.

ALL OF THESE ARE REALLY

GOOD STORIES.

AND, MAN, FOR ME TO BE

ABLE TO CHOOSE SIX IN 2016

WAS INCREDIBLE.

THAT'S WHAT I WENT THERE

FOR.

THAT'S WHAT HE SENT ME

THERE FOR.

Efrem: INDEED.

IT IS ALWAYS GREAT TO BE

IN YOUR COMPANY.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR

JOINING US.

THANK YOU FOR HAVING

ME.

Efrem: "A QUESTION OF

FAITH" IS COMING OUT REAL

SOON.

BE SURE TO STAY TUNED TO

"STUDIO 5" FOR YOUR FIRST

LOOK.

STAY WITH US.

WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK.

Efrem: TIME FOR YOUR

WEDNESDAY WORD, AND

TODAY'S WORD IS

"AVAILABLE."

MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE TO

GOD, AND WATCH HIM USE YOU

TO DO THINGS YOU WOULD

NEVER IMAGINE.

HE ISN'T LOOKING FOR THE

SMARTEST, THE PRETTIEST,

OR EVEN THE MOST BIBLE

READY.

HE IS LOOKING FOR THE MOST

AVAILABLE.

OPEN UP YOUR HEART AND

SAY, LORD, I AM AVAILABLE

TO YOU.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR

COMPANY.

WE'LL SEE YOU RIGHT BACK

HERE TOMORROW.

BYE-BYE.
