Efrem: THANK YOU FOR

JOINING US FOR CBN

"NEWSWATCH."

I'M EFREM GRAHAM.

BILLY GRAHAM WILL BE LAID TO

REST TOMORROW IN HIS HOME

STATEMENT ACCOLADES CONTINUE

TO POUR IN FROM AROUND THE

WORLD.

HEATHER SELLS HAS MORE.

Heather: MANY ARE

CALLING BILLY GRAHAM ONE OF

THE GREATEST EVANGELISTS

EVER.

PRESIDENT TRUMP DESCRIBED

HIM IN A STATEMENT AS GOD'S

AMBASSADOR, AND SAID HE WAS

PRIVILEGED TO KNOW HIM.

FORMER PRESIDENT BARACK

OBAMA, SAID HE GAVE HOPE AND

GUIDANCE TO GENERATIONS OF

AMERICANS.

OTHER PRESIDENT'S ALSO

PRAISED HIM, AND RUSSELL

MOORE CALLED HIM THE MOST

IMPORTANT EVANGELIST SINCE

THE APOSTLE PAUL.

LIBERTY UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT

JERRY FALWELL SAID HE

ILLUMINATED THE GOSPEL LIKE

NO ONE ELSE.

THE CHRISTIAN FAITH HAS

LOST THE BEST COMMUNICATOR

OF THE GOSPEL OF THE LAST

CENTURY, IN MY OPINION.

Heather: OUTSIDE OF THE

GRAHAM LIBRARY IN CHARLOTTE,

NORTH CAROLINA, VISITORS

REACTED IN SHOCK WHEN THEY

HEARD THE NEWS.

WE JUST LOVED HIM.

IT FEELS LIKE THE WORLD IS

GOING TO FALL APART.

Heather: THOSE WHO

SPENT TIME WITH GRAHAM RADIO

HIS HUMILITY AND KINDNESS.

GREG LAURIE SAID THE PRIVATE

BILLY GRAHAM WAS THE SAME AS

THE PUBLIC BILLY GRAHAM.

MINISTRY LEADERS REMEMBERED

HIS FIERCE CONVICTION TO

INTEGRITY, THAT ALLOWED HIM

TO PREACH FOR DECADES

WITHOUT SCANDAL.

PRESIDENT TRUMP REMEMBERED

HIS LEADERSHIP IN THE WAKE

OF 9/11.

GRAHAM TOLD AMERICANS GOD

CAN BE TRUSTED, EVEN WHEN

LIFE SEEMS AT ITS DARKEST.

REGENT UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR

AND NATIVE SOUTH AFRICAN

CORNI BECKER REMEMBERED THAT

GRAHAM WAS A CHAMPION OF

RACIAL EQUALITY.

HE REFUSED TO SPEAK IN SOUTH

AFRICA, UNTIL 1973, WHEN

BLACKS AND WHITES COULD HEAR

THE MESSAGE TOGETHER.

HE WOULD OFTEN SAY THAT

THE GROUND AT THE FOOT OF

THE CROSS IS LEVEL.

ANY PERSON CAN COME.

AND BILLY CERTAINLY

UNDERSTOOD THAT RACIAL

HARMONY AND THE EQUALITY OF

ALL PEOPLE WERE, INDEED,

PART AND PARCEL OF THE

GOSPEL.

INDEED, IT IS THE GOSPEL.

Heather: A SPOKESMAN

FOR GRAHAM SAID HE SPENT HIS

LAST FEW MONTHS ON EARTH IN

AND OUT OF CONSCIOUSNESS,

NOT TAKING PHONE CALLS OR

SEEING GUESTS.

A NURSE WAS THE ONLY ONE

WITH HIM WHEN HE PASSED,

WHICH HISTORY DOCTOR

DESCRIBED AS PEACEFUL.

GRAHAM HAD SUFFERED FROM

CANCER AND PNEUMONIA AND

OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS.

NOW THE WORLD IS PREPARING

TO HONOR HIM WITH A SERIES

OF TRIBUTES.

A THREE-HOUR PROCESSION IS

PLANNED FOR SATURDAY, TWO

TAKE HIS BODY FROM ASHVILLE

TO CHARLOTTE.

A PRIVATE FUNERAL WILL BE

HELD NEXT FRIDAY, MARCH

2nd.

GRAHAM'S SON, FRANKLIN, WILL

DELIVER THE EULOGY, BUT FOR

GRAHAM, THE ACCOLADES WERE

NEVER THE GOAL.

WHAT ONLY MATTERED WAS THE

LORD.

I WANT TO HEAR ONE PERSON

SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT ME,

AND THAT'S THE LORD.

WHEN I FACE HIM, I WANT HIM

TO SAY TO ME, WELL-DONE, THY

GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.

Heather: HEATHER SELLS,

CBN NEWS.

Efrem: ALL AMERICAN

PRESIDENTS HAVE BEEN INVITED

TO GRAHAM'S FUNERAL.

HE TOUCHED MOST OF THEM

PERSONALLY.

MARK MARTIN TAKES A LOOK AT

THAT.

Mark: THE REVEREND

BILLY GRAHAM SHARED THE

GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST TO

NEARLY 215 MILLION PEOPLE IN

LIVE AUDIENCES, AND MORE

THAN 185 COUNTRIES IN

TERRITORIES.

AND HE REACHED HUNDREDS OF

MILLIONS MORE THROUGH RADIO,

TELEVISION, FILM, BOOKS, AND

THE INTERNET.

HE DEVELOPED HIS STRONG WORK

ETHIC GROWING UP ON A DAIRY

FARM DURING THE DEPRESSION.

IN 1978, CBN SPOKE WITH

GRAHAM'S MOTHER IN

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA,

IN A REPORT FOR "THE 700

CLUB."

MY MAIN PRAYER WAS HE

MIGHT SHOW HIMSELF A STUDY,

TO SHOW HIMSELF UNDER GOD.

THAT WAS REALLY THE SINCERE

PRAYER OF OUR HEART FOR

YEARS.

DON'T EVER SAY IT IS A

WHITE MAN'S RELIGION OR A

BLACK MAN'S RELIGION.

CHRIST BELONGS TO ALL

PEOPLE.

Mark: THE LATE GOSPEL

SINGER, GEORGE BEVERLY,

TALKED ABOUT HOW PEOPLE

WOULD REMEMBER THE FAMOUS

EVANGELIST.

50 YEARS FROM NOW, THEY

WILL REMEMBER A MAN WITH

GREAT INTEGRITY, AND A MAN

WITH ONE MESSAGE: THAT GOD

LOVES YOU AND THAT CHRIST

WAS PROVIDED TO SAVE YOU.

Mark: GRAHAM'S FINAL

CRUSADE TOOK PLACE IN 2005

IN NEW YORK CITY.

PRIOR TO THAT, AT A NEWS

CONFERENCE, HE OFFERED THESE

POIGNANT WORDSMENT..

WORDS.

I LOOK FORWARD TO DEATH

WITH GREAT ANTICIPATION.

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO

SEEING GOD FACE TO FACE.

Reporter: GRAHAM AND

HIS WIFE, RUTH, HAD FIVE

CHILDREN, GIGI, ANN, RUTH,

FRANKLIN, AND GRAHAM.

HE IS NOW WALKING THE

STREETS OF GLORY HIMSELF,

ALONG WITH THOSE WHO BROUGHT

TO THE LORD, AND AHEAD OF

OTHERS WHO WILL JOIN HIM IN

HEAVEN IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

I, TOO, AM A PRODUCT OF

GRAHAM'S MINISTRY.

AT THE AGE OF 16, MY MOTHER

WENT FORWARD AT ONE OF HIS

CRUSADES TO REAFFIRM HER

FAITH IN CHRIST.

SHE WOULD LATER LEAD ME TO

JESUS AS A CHILD.

MARK MARTIN, CBN NEWS.

GRAHAM, YOU CAN CHECK OUT

OTHER BIG STORIES WE'RE

FOLLOWING FOR YOU IN THE CBN

NEWSROOM.

PRESIDENT TRUMP PROMISED

TOUGHER BACKGROUND CHECKS

AND MENTAL HEALTH SCREENING

FOR GUN BUYERS.

THE PRESIDENT IS SCHEDULED

TO MEET WITH STATE AND LOCAL

GOVERNMENT LEADERS ON SCHOOL

SAFETY THURSDAY.

> THE UNITED NATIONS IS

WORKING TO END A MODERN-DAY

MASSACRE IN SYRIA.

MORE THAN 300 PEOPLE HAVE

BEEN KILLED IN AIRSTRIKES

SINCE SUNDAY.

MANY OF THEM WOMEN AND

CHILDREN.

A U.N. SYRIA ENVOY SAYS THE

U.N. IS HOPING TO FIND A

RESOLUTION, BUT IT WILL NOT

BE EASY.

POLICE ARE TIGHTENING

SECURITY AT A U.S. EMBASSY

IN MON MONTONEGRO AFTER A

BOMB EMBASSY.

A MAN LATER DETONATED A BOMB

AND KILLED HIMSELF.

EMBASSY OFFICIALS ARE

WORKING WITH POLICE TO

IDENTIFY THAT ATTACKER.

THESE STORIES AT

DAY.

> A NEW STUDY SHOWS MORE

AMERICANS ARE MAKING

PROGRESS ON BOOSTING THEIR

SAVINGS ACCOUNTS.

ACCORDING TO bankrate.com,

ONE IN THREE AMERICANS HAVE

MORE CREDIT CARD DEBT THAN

THEY DO SAVINGS.

THOSE NUMBERS ARE DOWN FROM

2017, WHEN 31% HAD MORE

DEBT.

EXPERTS SAY SETTING ASIDE

EMERGENCY SAVINGS IS A KEY

PIECE OF PERSONAL FINANCE

ADVICE.

> STILL AHEAD HERE ON THIS

EDITION OF CBN "NEWSWATCH,"

INSIDE THE CONTROVERSIAL

TESTING BEING DONE BY

RESEARCHERS AT THE V.A.

IT IS SAVING LIVES OR SIMPLY

TORTURING ANIMALS.

CBCBN NEWS WEIGHS IN ON

BOTH SIDES OF THAT DEBATE.

Efrem: AMERICANS HAVE

MIXED OPINIONS ABOUT MEDICAL

RESEARCH ON ANIMALS.

REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU FEEL

ABOUT IT, YOU MAY BE

SURPRISED TO LEARN YOU'RE

PAYING FOR IT WITH YOUR TAX

DOLLARS, INCLUDING PAINFUL

TESTING ON DOGS.

JENNIFER WISHON INVESTIGATES

A PRACTICE THAT HAS CAUGHT

THE ATTENTION OF VETERANS,

TAXPAYERS, AND MEMBERS OF

CONGRESS.

Jennifer: TODD WORKS IN

A MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT AT

THIS VETERANS' AFFAIRS

HOSPITAL IN RICHMOND,

VIRGINIA.

ON HIS SERVICE CALL TO THE

THIRD FLOOR ONE DAY, HE WAS

SHOCKED BY WHAT HE SAW.

WE SAW A BOWL SITTING ON

A COUNTER WITH A RED-LIKE

SUBSTANCE IN IT.

THERE WAS A HANDWRITTEN NOTE

BESIDE IT, AND IT SPOKE

ABOUT WHERE IT CAME FROM,

BUT TWA A DOG'S HEART.

Jennifer: HARVESTING

THE HEARTS OF DOGS

EUTHANIZED IS CAUSING A

NATIONAL STIR.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT TESTS

LIKE TAKING SIX-MONTH-OLD

PUPPIES, PUTTING THEM ON

TREADMILLS, FORCING THEM TO

RUN, EXHAUSTED DOGS,

INDUCING HEART ATTACKS, AND

SLOPPY SURGERIES, DRILLING

HOLES IN THEIR SKULLS,

DESTROYING THEIR BRAINS, AND

CHARGING TAXPAYERS FOR IT.

Jennifer: HE STARTED A

FOUNDATION.

LAST YEAR HE STARTED

FOLLOWING THE MONEY AT THE

V.A., AND DISCOVERED ON

PAPER WHAT WEISSNER WAS

WITNESSING AND DOCUMENTING

IN PERSON.

THEY LOOK YOU IN THE EYE,

AND YOU CAN TELL THEY'RE

FEARFUL.

THEY'RE WONDERING IF YOU ARE

THERE TO HELP OR HURT.

Jennifer: THIS TYPE OF

MEDICAL TESTING ON DOGS, THE

KIND THAT CAUSES PAIN, IS

CONDUCTED AT V.A. HOSPITALS

IN MILWAUKEE, CLEVELAND, AND

HERE IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA.

THE QUESTION: IS

EXPERIMENTING ON MAN'S BEST

FRIEND ACTUALLY IMPROVING

THE LIVES OF VETERANS, OR IS

RESEARCH ON DOGS ANTIQUATED

AND JUST PLAIN CRUEL.

FLORIDA CONGRESSMAN BRIAN

MATT SERVED AS A BOMB

DISPOSAL EXPERT IN THE U.S.

ARMY.

HE LOST BOTH LEGS IN SERVICE

TO THIS COUNTRY, AND IS A

PATIENT AT THE V.A.

I'VE WORKED WITH DOGS ON

THE BATTLE FIELD.

MY FAMILY HAS ALWAYS HAD

DOGS.

MY KIDS HAVE DOGS.

IT IS UNAMERICAN TO NOT LOVE

DOGS, NUMBER ONE.

IT WOULD BE LIKE NOT LIKING

CHICKEN OR FRENCH FRIES.

Jennifer: HE JOINED

OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE

TO TEMPORARY CUT OFF FUNDING

TO THE RESEARCH THAT CAUSES

DOGS PAIN.

DAVE BRATT INTRODUCED

LEGISLATION TO PERMANENTLY

END TAXPAYER FUNDING FOR THE

RESEARCH, WHICH HAS

BIPARTISAN SUPPORT.

IF YOU CAN FIND A LESS

INVASIVE WAY OF GETTING THE

SAME RESEARCH RESULTS

WITHOUT TORTURING AND

EXTREME PAIN TO OUR ANIMAL

FRIENDS, WE WANT TO GO THAT

ROUTE.

Jennifer: DAVID SHULKIN

ERCHESHULKIN URGES

LAWMAKERS TO KEEP THE

FUNDING.

HE ADDS, CANINE RESEARCH

WORKS BECAUSE OF THE

DISTINCT PHYSICAL AND

BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

HUMANS AND DOGS SHARE THAT

OTHER SPECIES DO NOT.

MOST OF THE ADVANCES THAT

THE V.A. REPORTS GAINING

FROM DOG RESEARCH CAME IN

THE 1950s AND '60s, BUT

THE DEPARTMENT CREDITS

RECENT F.D.A. APPROVAL FOR

THE FIRST ARTIFICIAL

PANCREAS, AND IT WOULD STOP

THE PROGRESS THAT THE V.A.

IS MAKING TO CARE FOR

VETERANS WITH SPINAL CORD

INJURIES, DIABETES, RISK OF

STROKES, AND NEED FOR ORGAN

TRANSPLANTS.

WEISSNER SAYS HE IS

DISTURBED VALUABLE SPACE AND

RESOURCES ARE BEING USED TO

CONDUCT PAINFUL TESTS ON

DOGS, WHILE VETERANS

STRUGGLE TO GET THE CARE

THEY NEED IN A TIMELY

MANNER.

A V.A. PATIENT HIMSELF, HE

WAITED NINE MONTHS FOR

TREATMENT.

HOW MANY THERAPY DOGS

COULD YOU BUY FOR VETERANS

IN DANGER OF HURTING

THEMSELVES OR NEED A THERAPY

DOG.

Reporter: FOR THE

CONGRESSMAN, ADVOCATING FOR

VETERANS IS HIS MOST

IMPORTANT JOB.

I TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, EVEN

JUST THE SLIGHTEST FAILURE

OF CARING FOR THOSE WHO GAVE

THE LAST BEAT OF THEIR HEART

DEFENDING THIS COUNTRY.

Reporter:

SURPRISINGLY.

BLATT SAYS TAXPAYERS ARE

FUNDING MORE ANIMAL RESEARCH

THAN PRIVATE INDUSTRY.

WE KNOW IT IS AT LEAST

$15 BILLION A YEAR IN

TAXPAYER FUNDING.

SO WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES

HERE.

WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT

COSMETICS TESTING HERE.

WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT

PRIVATE INDUSTRY HERE.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT

GOVERNMENT SPENDING HERE.

THEY SPEND FAR MORE, THE

USDA, E.P.A., D.H. D., THAN

ALL COMBINED.

>

I WAS VERY PROUD TO BE A

SOLDIER, AND THE NATURE OF

MY WORK, BEING A BOMB

TECHNICIAN,ING I'VE HAD

TECHNICIAN, I'VE HAD THE

OPPORTUNITY TO SAVE LIFE AND

TO TAKE LIFE.

I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

BETWEEN INNOCENT AND EVIL.

I DON'T THINK ANYBODY SHOULD

BE BASHFUL ABOUT POINTING

OUT WHAT IS INNOCENT AND

SAYING THAT IS WHERE I TIME

IS WELL-SPENT TO ADVOCATE,

ON BEHAV BEHALF OF THE

INNOCENT, WHETHER THEY'RE

DOGS OR WHETHER THEY'RE

PEOPLE.

Jennifer: JENNIFER

WISHON, CBN NEWS.

Efrem: AHEAD HERE ON

CBN "NEWSWATCH," STYLING

HAIR AND SHARING GOD'S

LOVE.

SEE HOW THIS WOMAN USES HER

WORK IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY

TO CHANGE LIVES.

SPHRAIRMTS

Efrem: A CONNECTICUT

WOMAN IS ON A MISSION TO

EMPOWER THE MOST VULNERABLE

WOMEN THROUGH BEAUTY.

AND IT IS NOT ONLY HAIR AND

MAKEUP.

OUR CAITLIN BURKE EXPLAINS.

Reporter: FOR MORE THAN

15 YEARS, TENISHA WORKS AT

MAKING PEOPLE BEAUTIFUL.

AND THEN SHE SAW THE LIFE.

BEAUTY IS GOD.

THAT'S MY DEFINITION OF

BEAUTY.

IT IS A DIVINE BEAUTY.

IT IS BEAUTY THAT CAN ONLY

COME FROM GOD.

Reporter: SHE REALIZED

THAT HER CALLING WAS SO MUCH

MORE THAN JUST GIVING

SOMEBODY A BEAUTIFUL

HAIRSTYLE.

IT WAS ALSO ABOUT

TRANSFORMING THE WAY THEY

SAW THEMSELVES ON THE

INSIDE.

> WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE IF

I COULD MAKE MY CLIENTS

WHOLE AND COMPLETE?

FROM THAT POINT ON, WHAT

BECAME MY MISSION IS TO HELP

PEOPLE REDISCOVER WHO THEY

TRULY ARE.

AND IT ALL STARTS FROM THE

INSIDE.

Reporter: THAT LED HER

TO START HER FOUNDATION,

"EMPOWERING THROUGH BEAUTY,"

WHICH TOOK HER OUT OF THE

SALON AND INTO HOMELESS

SHELTERS.

WHEN THOSE WOMEN CAME

INTO MY SALON, WHO HAVE A

JOB WORKING EVERY DAY, AND

YET COULD STILL NOT AFFORD

IT, AND WHO STILL COULD NOT

REALLY HAVE THE LIFE THEY

WANTED TO HAVE, IT MADE ME

THINK, WELL, IF THEY ARE

GOING THROUGH THIS, WHAT

ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO ARE

LIVING IN HOMELESS SHELTERS,

WHO CANNOT AFFORD SUCH

SERVICES.

Reporter: SHE AND HER

VOLUNTEERS GO ON A MISSION

TO FIND AND SERVE THOSE IN

NEED.

I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE IT

MAKES WHENEVER YOU HAVE A

JOB INTERVIEW BUT YOU'RE

LIVING IN A SHELTER AND YOU

CAN'T AFFORD A HAIRCUT.

Reporter: AND WHILE THE

MAKEOVERS HAPPEN, SHE IS

MOST INTERESTED IN THESE

WOMEN'S HEARTS.

THE BEAUTY COMES FROM

INSIDE.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT, WHAT

WE DID TODAY, IT IS NOT

GOING TO MATTER.

YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?

YES.

AND YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Reporter: ON ANY GIVEN

DAY IN THE BRIDGEPORT,

CONNECTICUT, AREA, MORE THAN

100 PEOPLE ARE HOMELESS.

THEY HOLD EVENTS WHERE THEY

RECEIVE ACCESS TO SERVICES

LIKE JOB RESOURCES AND

H.I.V. TESTING.

IN ONE DAY, WE PROVIDED

OVER 300 SERVICES FOR WOMEN

AND FAMILIES.

I FEEL BEAUTIFUL FOR THE

FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME.

I KIND OF JUST GAVE IT A

TRY.

I LET MY GUARD DOWN.

USUALLY MY MOTHER DOES MY

HAIR.

AND IT WAS SOMETHING TO

EMPOWER ME.

Reporter: TENISHA NOT

ONLY HELPS THESE WOMEN, SHE

SHARES A CONNECTION WITH

THEM.

>

I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE

JUST TO WANT TO LOOK GOOD ON

THE OUTSIDE, EVEN THOUGH

YOU'RE DEALING WITH A LOT OF

HURT, OR NOT BEING ABLE TO

PAY YOUR BILLS.

Reporter: THAT'S

BECAUSE AS TENISHA WAS

WORKING WITH THE HOMELESS,

SHE CAME WITHIN A WEEK OF

LOSING HER OWN HOME.

IT WAS THE BEST THING I

COULD HAVE DONE, IS TO SERVE

OTHERS.

IT WAS SUCH HEALING FOR ME

IN MY DARKEST MOMENTS.

JUST BEING IN THE SPACE

WHERE YOU ARE WITH WOMEN WHO

ARE IN WORSE SITUATIONS THAN

YOU ARE, AND WHO HAVE BEEN

THROUGH WORSE THINGS, AND TO

BE ABLE TO LOVE ON THEM

THROUGH MY OWN HURT, THROUGH

MY OWN PAIN, IT MADE ME

FORGET ALL ABOUT WHAT I WAS

GOING THROUGH.

Reporter: EVERY DAY SHE

WOULD SPEAK OF GOD'S LOVE IN

THE SHELTERS, AND THEN WALK

CIRCLES AROUND HER HOME,

PRAYING GOD WOULD ALLOW THEM

TO KEEP IT.

GOD PROVED HIS

FAITHFULNESS.

SHE KEPT HER HOME AFTER A

NEW MORTGAGE COMPANY TOOK

OVER THE LOAN.

AND HER MISSION IS GROWING.

WE PARTNER WITH SALONS

WHEREVER.

WHOEVER WOULD LIKE TO GET

INVOLVED WITH OUR

FOUNDATION, WE PARTNER WITH

THEM AND WE'RE ANAL TO THE

SEND OUR CLIENTS FROM OUR

PARTNERING SHELTERS, TO BE

ABLE TO GO OUT TO THE SALONS

IN THEIR COMMUNITY TO GET

THEIR HAIR SERVICE.

Reporter: TO DATE, 99%

OF THE WOMEN WHO GO THROUGH

THE SHELTER PROGRAM GO ON TO

RECEIVE HOUSING AND

EMPLOYMENT.

CAITLIN BURKE, CBN NEWS,

BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT.

Efrem: WELL, THE OUTER

BEAUTY CERTAINLY DOES IMPACT

THE INNER BEAUTY AS WELL,

UNTIL THEY LEARN THE LESSON

THAT BEAUTY IS ON THE

INSIDE.

> STAY WITH US; THERE IS

MUCH MORE OF CBN "NEWSWATCH"

COMING UP RIGHT AFTER THIS.

Efrem: THE WORLD IS

MOURNING THE LOSS OF BILLY

GRAHAM, AND A SPECIAL

TRIBUTE TO AMERICA'S PASTOR

IS HEADED TO THE BIG

SCREEN.

HIS GRANDSON, WILL GRAHAM,

IS PLAYING THE ROLE OF BILLY

GRAHAM IN THE UPCOMING

FOLLOWUP TO THE FILM

"UNBROKEN."

WE WERE ONSET FOR THIS

SEGMENT OF THE TAPING IN

LOS ANGELES, AND HAD AN

OPPORTUNITY TO SIT DOWN TO

TALK TO WILL ABOUT THE

PROJECT.

I'M NOT TRYING TO FILL

HIS SHOES, PER SE.

I WANT TO BE PLEASING TO THE

LORD.

JUST LIKE MY GRANDDAD DID IN

1949.

HE WASN'T TRYING TO DO

ANYTHING.

HE WAS JUST TRYING TO BE

OBEDIENT AND PLEASING TO THE

LORD.

I FIGURED THE BEST WAY TO

PREPARE IS TO JUST DO THE

SAME WAY.

BECAUSE I'M NOT AN ACTOR.

I'M NOT FUNNY -- I'M FUNNY

TO LOOK AT, BUT I'M NOT

FUNNY.

IT IS HUMBLING.

AND I WANT TO DO MY GRANDDAD

JUSTICE.

I FIGURE IF I JUST PLEASE

THE LORD, THE LORD WILL TAKE

CARE OF THE REST.

Efrem: "UNBROKEN: PATH

TO REDEMPTION," IS A

CONTINUESUATION OF LOUIE

ZAMPERINI'S STORY, AND HIS

COMING TO CHRIST IN A BILLY

GRAHAM CRUSADE.

> AND MANY CHRISTIAN

CELEBRITIES ARE ALSO

MOURNING AND SHARING STORIES

ABOUT THE IMPACT OF HIS

LIFE.

I RECENTLY SPOKE WITH KIRK

CAMERON ABOUT HOW SEEING THE

STAR OF BILLY GRAHAM ON THE

HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

IMPACTED HIM.

HE HAS BEEN SUCH A HERO

TO ME.

I REMEMBER AT 17 YEARS OLD,

I HAD JUST COME TO THE LORD,

I HAD JUST BEEN SAVED.

AND I WAS INVITED TO ATTEND

A CEREMONY WHERE A MAN NAMED

BILLY GRAHAM WAS RECEIVING A

STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK

OF FAME.

AND I LEARNED MORE AND MORE

ABOUT WHO HE WAS AS I GREW

IN MY FAITH.

AND TODAY I LOOK AND I SAY,

WOW, HERE IS A SHINING STAR

FOR THE GOSPEL.

AND THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE

IN HEAVEN WELCOMING HIM

RIGHT NOW.

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO ONCE

SAID, WHEN SOMEONE PASSES

AWAY, IT IS LIKE WATCHING A

SHIP SAIL OFF INTO THE SEA,

AND THEY'RE GETTING SMALLER

AND SMALLER, BUT THOSE ON

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE

HORIZON ARE SEEING THE SHIP

GETTING LARGER AND LARGER

AND THEY SAY, WELCOME HOME.

Efrem: I HOPE YOU WILL

JOIN ME IN THIS PRAYER OF

GRATITUDE: FATHER, THANK

YOU FOR THE OBEDIENT LIFE OF

EVANGELIST BILLY GRAHAM.

HE WAS BLESSED TO BE A

BLESSING, AND HE DID JUST

THAT.

WITH THAT WORD, MAKE THIS A

THANKFUL THURSDAY.

> THAT IS GOING TO DO IT

FOR THIS EDITION OF CBN

"NEWSWATCH."

YOAND WE'D LOVE TO HEAR

WHATTHINK ABOUT THE STORY

YOU'VE SEEN HERE TODAY, AND

YOU CAN DO THAT AT
