A PREACHER I ADMIRED VERY MUCH WAS KILLED IN A CAR CRASH. SOMEONE SAID THAT IF HE HAD BEEN A TRUE MAN OF GOD, THAT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, CITING THAT IN THE BIBLE GOD'S SERVANTS ALWAYS DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES.
- Ready for some email?
- Let's go for it.
- All right let's do it.
- [Terry] This first onecomes from a viewer who says,
"A preacher I admired verymuch was killed in a car crash.
"Someone said that if hehad been a true man of God,
"that would not have happened,
"citing that in the Bible,
"God's servants alwaysdied of natural causes.
"This has been bothering me a great deal.
"Would you please share your thoughts?"
- Oh, that's just not true.
God's servants were,
the apostle Peter was take,
Jesus said in, when you get old
people are gonna take and you and bind you
and you take you whereyou don't want to go.
They say he was crucified upside down,
this is the apostle Peter.
They thought that maybe the apostle Paul
was beheaded in a prison in Rome.
You go through the list of martyrs
and people who've suffered for the Lord
and you read in Hebrewsabout people who tore asunder
by animals and, you know, we're...
- [Terry] Sure.
- Put in the fire and, you know,
it's just, they go throughall kind of torment.
Listen, being a Christian doesn't
keep us from the vicissitudes of life.
We are subject becausewe are mortal beings,
we're subject to all kinds of things
and to say that somehowif you're a Godly person,
you live a charmed life and nothing bad
will ever happen to you untilyou die of natural causes,
that's a sweet thought butit just ain't biblical.
- Everybody'd become a believerif that was the case, right.
- Absolutely, alright.
- Okay, this is a viewer who says,
"For the past two months,I've been suffering
"with bad anxiety and fear.
"I pray all the time thatI will go back to normal.
"For a long time I was ashamed of myself
"and stopped reading the Bible.
"I'd love to be able to live without fear.
"It keeps me from doing things
"I should enjoy likehanging out with my friends.
"Can God take his away?"
- Alright, two things, number one
the Bible says, "Perfectlove casts out fear,
"for fear has torment," that's one thing.
The second thing, I want you to know
there is a spirit of fear
and that spirit of fear is very weak
but one that will, you can cast out
with the word of your mouth.
You have to say, "In the name of Jesus,
"I command you to leave."
The other thing is be wrappedup in the love of God,
don't let your fears overwhelm you,
let the love of God overwhelm you.
Let his love fill you and perfect
love casts out fear, alright.
- Okay, this is Susan Pat who says,
"Can you guide me on how I can get help
"with credit card debt?
"My husband has stage four cancer
"and we have over $35,000in credit card debt.
"Who can I trust to help?"
- Well, I don't know who you can trust
but I'll tell you what to do.
If you have any income, beginto take a little piece of that
and start paying that debt down.
Also, if you can get somebody
or you do it yourself, go to the creditors
and say, I've got a problem,
can you reduce theseobligations that I have?
See if they won't do it, you know,
it's amazing what people will do
if they know you've gotthe situation you have,
if you're suffering, they're not all
a group of monsters trying to destroy you.
So, I mean, if you go to them
and say, I need somehelp, would you help me
and you'd be amazed what people will do.
Now, you can get somebody to do it for you
but you can also do it for yourself.
- Yeah, I think people don't know that,
that you can call andexplain your circumstances
and usually they will work with you.
- Yeah, well, I mean, the IRS will cut down
a lot of money you owe but I mean, just
creditors will do it.
There's a certain, everybusiness has a certain percentage
that they'll take on a loss loans,
and, you know, they'll do those things.
Just give it a shot.
