- Let's go for questions.

- You're ready, okay.

This is a viewer who says,

"As a child I was baptized byimmersion at a very young age,

"but I don't remember if itwas in the name of the Father,

"the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

"I have my baptism certificate,

"and it says it done in that way.

"But I heard recentlythat I must be baptized

"in the name of the Lord JesusChrist for it to be right.

"Was my baptism valid?

"And is it acceptable to Godif I don't fully understand it?

"Was my baptism supposedto be done before or after

"I have believed on thename of the Lord Jesus

"through salvation?"

- Well, the Baptists, you know, believe in

baptism of believers by immersion.

Of course the Catholic traditionis that they are sprinkled,

and in many other churchesthe children are baptized

as infants, and that bringsthem into the Covenant

with the, essentially thefaith of their parents.

So the Baptist tradition isthat it's only by believers.

So in the Bible, mostlyit was by believers.

They knew what they were doing.

Now...

Harald Bredesen used to doit, and I do the same thing,

when I baptize it's in thename of the Father, the Son,

and the Holy Spirit, andthen you say "In Jesus' name"

and you get it all in!

(laughs)

But I don't think the Lordis interested in formulas.

I really don't think it's the formula,

it's what's in peoples'hearts that counts, alright?

- Okay, this is a viewerwho says, "Hi, I'm 16.

"My mom chooses to live withher boyfriend who drinks,

"takes pills, and yells at her.

"He used to call me the B-word

"and locked me and mymom out of the house.

"He's so evil.

"I just want my mom back.

"What can I do?"

- Oh. I really think you oughtto go to social services,

report this.

This is child abuse, it's the wrong thing.

And to have a live-inboyfriend who drinking,

and taking drugs, and violating the law,

and doing the rest of thisstuff, your mother should've been

objecting to that, butapparently she'd rather

have this boyfriend on hand

and have her child being mistreated.

Now, he's not molestingyou but I still think,

you oughta report to the authorities.

What's next?

- We have a quick one here.

"Pat, I was understanding,if God doesn't give us

"more than we can handle thenwhy do people commit suicide?"

- Well they commit suicidebecause their minds are unstable.

It has nothing to do withwhat God's giving 'em,

it has to do with what'sgoing on in their own mind

and heart.

And they can be chemical reactions,

they can be drugs, they can bespiritual, could be demonic.

I mean who knows whypeople commit suicide,

but to blame that on God'sburden is, I think, it's unreal.
