Don't Change the Channel!
CBN.com – Forty-year-old Satvinder was a devoted Sikh who followed his religious rites judiciously and zealously. He owned a successful business enterprise and led a very comfortable life.
One morning after performing his religious rites he switched on the television to watch the news. As he was flipping through channels, his attention was caught by a program on one of the channels.
He followed it for a minute and understood that was a Christian program. His immediate impulse was to change the channel. Even though he didn’t like it, he continued watching out of curiosity. He was touched by every word the host uttered. The host was talking about the teachings of Jesus Christ.
By the end of the program Satvinder realized he liked it immensely. Watching the Hindi daily program Ek Nayee Zindagi became a routine for him. Slowly he realized that the program was changing him as a person. He started reading the Bible and praying. He wanted to know more about Jesus.
At a later point, he faced a serious problem at work. One of the machines at his factory stopped working. Identifying the problem and getting it repaired would cost a lot of money and time. He trusted Jesus and called CBN counseling center for prayer. He felt an assurance by the time the counselor finished praying and left the situation in the hands of the Lord. In two days, the machine started to work. It was nothing short of a miracle! His faith in Christ grew.
Satvinder shared what happened to him with his family, and they all were touched by what they heard. They realized that Jesus is the one true God. The entire family now prays together and is growing in the Lord.
