CBN.com Nee is a single mom from the Hmong hill tribe in Nan Province. Her father was a drug addict and was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2005. One month later Nee’s mother died from a blood hemorrhage in her brain. Nee was devastated and had to take on the responsibility to care for her three younger siblings. Money was short, and there were times when there was no food to eat. Nee would spend some days working out in the rice and corn fields for about $3 a day to try to feed and clothe her siblings, but the burden was too great.

At 15, in a desperate bid to help support her shattered family, Nee decided to marry. One month later she was pregnant, and it was then that her drug addict husband started beating her. He refused to take responsibility for the baby and accused her of unfaithfulness. When Nee was eight months pregnant, she was beaten badly by her husband and reported him and his drug habits to the police. He fled from her and the police.

After Nee had given birth and Baby Tee was about 5 months old, she was taken to House of Blessing in Chiangmai with her three younger siblings by Pastor Pakdee, who has assisted Operation Blessing Thailand with projects in his village in Nan Province. The House of Blessing is a children’s home supported by Operation Blessing Thailand with a vision to love, educate, nurture, and develop orphans and poor underprivileged children of Thailand.

Nee and her family have been at House of Blessing since May 2008. Nee is illiterate and has never attended school, but she is now studying in the sewing project. Baby Tee is receiving much better care, including nutritional supplements and access to medical care, something Nee could not afford before.

At House of Blessing, Nee and her family have all they need – clothes, food, shelter, education, medical support, and a loving, caring community. Nee has been so touched and impressed by the love shown to her from all her new Christian friends. She is eager to know more about God.

“I would like to thank all those who have supported me at the House of Blessing,” Nee said. “I plan to study hard and take good care of my baby…When my baby grows up and goes to school, I hope to start a sewing business with the skills I’ve acquired.”
