Sokim's Beautiful Smile

CBN.com – Mrs. Gar and her husband live in Sroyov village north of Cambodia. Mrs. Gar was very sad when her second daughter Sokim was born with a cleft lip, and she was ashamed to take little Sokim out in public.

The family was desperate to get Sokim’s cleft lip fixed, but they did not have money for the surgery. They are rice farmers, and Mr. Gar earns two dollars a day doing construction work.

One day they met a girl in their neighborhood who was sponsored by CBN’s cleft lip project.  This brought new hope to Mrs. Gar and Sokim.  Sokim met CBN staff, and they arranged an operation for her in a hospital.

Today Sokim has a new beautiful smile. Her parents and grandma are very excited for her.

“I would like to thank CBN and donors who provided this help,” Mrs. Gar said. “Thank for your sharing love, care to my daughter as my family, even though we live in a remote area, very far away from you. Thank you for changing my daughter’s life.”
