CBN.comLittle Yutong was born into a broken family in Gaoba Village. Although she brought a new financial burden on the family, they were still filled with joy for this little child. At her birth, her father was in prison, and her mother worked very hard to support the family. She was already taking care of Yutong’s older sister and their 70-year-old grandma by herself.

Not long after Yutong’s birth, her father came home. Since he was a criminal, it was almost impossible for him to find a good job. Consequently, he resorted to working in the field as a farmer.

Yutong’s family has many health problems, and a major part of their income is spent on medicine for grandma, Yutong, and her parents. Her father has rheumatism, and her mother suffers from hepatitis after years of hard labor. When Yutong was 3 years old, a doctor discovered that she had congenital heart disease. Her parents were worried and very upset because they could not pay for the surgery.

Despite her condition, Yutong was a beautiful and smart girl. However, because of her heart disease, she was often sick and spent most of her time at home. When her parents realized that their daughter was not living a normal life, their hearts were broken.

But good news came to Yutong’s family, thanks to CBN partners.  When CBN China began looking for heart diseased children to help, the local government and the local, official church introduced them to Yutong, who was 5 years old by this time. Her surgery was successfully performed, and she recovered so fast that even the doctors were amazed.

After the surgery, Yutong’s mother held out her hands, saying “Thank you, thank you…”
