CBN.com CBN Siam dedicated their new office and studio complex on May 29, 2009, with the help of WorldReach directors from around the globe.
The Thailand staff of almost 70 moved onto the premises in April and quickly worked on all the “finishing touches” to be ready for dedication day. The facility comprises almost two acres in a rural area near the village of Doi Saket, 12 miles north of Chiangmai city. In December 2008, a 10 year lease was signed and renovations began in January 2009 on what used to be a Chinese vitamin factory.
The main building provides 2200 square meters of space which now houses offices for the entire staff and an 18x18 meter television studio. The second building is planned as a training center with accommodation upstairs.
“God has ‘expanded our borders’ with this new facility,” says Thailand Regional Director Karen Thomson. “We have much more room to grow than we had in our offices in town—and are saving almost $6,000 a month in rent!”
The dedication was a highlight of the 2009 WorldReach Directors conference. The Thai staff welcomed almost 50 guests to an outdoor luncheon of spicy Thai dishes followed by an official ceremony in the studio and a tour of the facilities.
The ceremony began with a traditional singing of the King of Thailand’s song by five-year-old Mercy followed by worship led by Rev. Paris Espana, the manager of CBN Siam’s counseling center. Regional Director Karen Thomson emceed the event which included special music and interpretive dance by three program hosts and a Thai benediction dance by members of the Christian Communication Institute (where CBN Siam first produced the Thai 700 Club).
CBN President Michael Little gave a short message and CBN VP of Telephone, Rev. Joel Palser, led us in the prayer of dedication.
“This is truly a year of New Beginnings,” says Thomson. “God has blessed us in a big way and we are well aware of the responsibility of being good stewards of God’s gift to us. We are praying for new doors of opportunity to open here in Thailand for the sharing of the Gospel!”
