Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery
New Face for Tel Chab
- Chab's New Smile
- Chab Before Surgery
CBN.com CAMBODIA –Keurn worried about her son’s future. Chab was born with a severe cleft lip and by age seven was showing signs of depression. Children were often unkind to him and even adults shunned him when he sought to earn some wages. Discrimination because of his looks was unfair and sad, but that was his reality.
His parents worked as rice farmers and his father worked construction jobs. Their meager income would not pay for Chab’s much-needed surgery. They desperately wanted him to have a chance at a normal life and longed for a miracle.
One day they met a boy in their village whose face showed the traces of a former cleft lip. As they talked, they found out that he had surgery from CBN’s cleft lip project nearby. Excited to find out if perhaps Chab could get the surgery, Keurn met with CBN’s staff and they arranged for his miracle, a free operation for him in Phnom Penh.
After the successful surgery Chab has a new beautiful smile. His parents and grandmother are excited for him.
“I would like to thank CBN and donors who provided this help from a far distance,” Keurn said. “Thank for your sharing love and care for my son and my family. It is the first time I get hopeful for my son, because of you. Thank for changing his life to live in normal. Thank you!”
The gratefulness of this mother’s words pour from a truly grateful heart. You can help many in need like Chab. To be a part of this amazing ministry, partner with CBN now.
