Joyful End to Ten Years of Suffering
CBN Operation Blessing Cambodia
- Mrs. Main after surgery
- Mrs. Main before surgery
CBN.com CAMBODIA - For the last 10 years, Mrs. Main suffered with a large goiter on her neck. She could not work and lived with her husband and two children in an impoverished village in Cambodia. Her neck hurt constantly. She had headaches and difficulty breathing at times. Overall, her body was weak.
Had she been healthy, Mrs. Main would have been working in the rice field or finding and selling firewood. Her husband worked construction and earned two dollars a day. The local government and the local hospital denied her medical help because her family could not afford the surgery to remove the goiter. Mrs. Main worried about her children’s future and felt helpless.
One day, Mrs. Main heard from people in a neighboring village about the goiter medical services sponsored by CBN’s Operation Blessing Cambodia. She went as soon as she could to Phnom Penh City, located several miles east of her home in Meanchey Village. Mrs. Main and her family finally had hope after so many years of despair.
When she met with Operation Blessing (OB) staff, they scheduled an operation to remove the giant goiter from her neck for free! The entire family was overjoyed at the news. CBN used funds provided by donations to its ministry to show God’s compassion to Mrs. Main and her family. The surgery was a success and now Mrs. Main is happy, healthy and strong.
She is a walking testimony to her village of the love of Jesus Christ. They had certainly all seen her suffering for so many years as the goiter was so visible. Now they see her filled with joy and giving credit to God’s ministry at CBN for her healing.
“Thank CBN and donors who helped me,” Mrs. Main said, “Because you care and love, I free from goiter. I am able to breathe easily. I am strong. I could work again. Thank you!”
